Chapter 252 - Vanished

Name:MIMI Author:paramyis
It had been one month since Mimi was kidnapped by her father, Henry Hirogori. This also meant it had been one month since she last saw Shen Jue. After revealing the truth behind her sister's death, he suddenly disappeared. It was the first time Shen Jue told her the truth. And the bastard left without letting her ask any more questions!

In her office, Mimi conducted work as usual when a sudden thought came to her.

Was Shen Jue dead?

Immediately, she threw that theory away. If Shen Jue were to suddenly die, Mimi would be certain he'd hire someone prior, to ship his body parts to her. Besides, although she hated him, she didn't wish death upon him.

Out of everyone, Shen Jue was the only person who knew her sister. He was the missing puzzle to the questions she still had regarding her sister. Maybe now if she found him, he would be honest with her.

With this in mind, she was determined to find him. That evening, Mimi arrived in front of a familiar bar on the far side of the city. Opening the door, the small bell on the top jingled.

Like before, the bartender raised his head to see the familiar face of a violet-eyed girl. As if he were expecting her, he sighed.

"Monty!" The bartender called to the back.

Just as soon as he spoke, a tall dark skin man walked out from the back of the bar and glanced at the bartender who tilted his head to the entrance. Shifting his gaze, Monty's eyes widened to see Mimi standing at the door.

"Long time no see, Monty." Mimi beamed her dimpled smile and spoke in a sweet, soft voice.

Monty gave her a hard stare, obviously not falling for the sweet act causing him to turn and sigh tiredly.

"Follow me."

Blinking her eyes with surprise, Mimi laughed softly. Truthfully, she was a little surprised to see Monty treat her so welcomingly considering Tobias cheated the last time they came here.

But thinking he knew she was connected with Shen Jue, she didn't worry about him threatening her.

With an innocent smile, Mimi walked past the bartender and into the back door where she was led to a secret room. Inside was a long white sofa against the wall and round, crystal glass tables. In the center of the table were stacks of money and bottles of whiskey.

Monty cleared the table and set the money in a black safe. When he turned around, he saw the girl was already making herself comfortable on the sofa. She bounced up and down a bit, then shifted herself further into the cushions. Looking up at him, she blinked calmly.

"So, where's Shen Jue?" Mimi asked with her usual casual tone. Meanwhile, her smiles held no warmth as she looked at the big man.

There was a moment of silence in the room. Monty seemed to be thinking carefully about his answer until he finally spoke.

"To tell you the truth...I don't know."

While Mimi was displeased with his response, she didn't show it on her face.

"When was the last time you saw him?"

"Last month." Monty leaned against the polished wooden table behind him and crossed his arms over his chest. "He came in. Looked like someone beat the shit out of him. Though...it's about time someone did."

The corners of Mimi's mouth couldn't help but lift in a smile.

"I couldn't agree more."

Monty couldn't help but smile as well. He laughed. "Anyway, when he came in I bandaged him up a bit, gave him something to drink, and then he left."

"That's the only time he came in?" Mimi's brows furrowed.

Monty nodded his head. Sinking back into the sofa, Mimi thought carefully and leaned her head back, eyes closed. Based on Monty's words, Shen Jue seemed to be alive as his wounds were taken care of. However, that didn't take away the fact he was still missing.

When Mimi opened her eyes, she revealed a somewhat jaded expression.

"Where did you go, Shen Jue?" She whispered in a strangely gentle voice.

Meanwhile, Monty watched Mimi in silence, trying to see through her unreadable expression. Lifting her gaze, Mimi noticed Monty's scrutinizing expression and her beautiful eyes glowed.

"Well, since you don't know, I guess I'll get out of your hair." Mimi rose from the sofa and walked toward the exit.

"Wait," Monty called out to her and cleared his throat. "That man you were with last time – do you have his number? I would like to schedule a time with him to even the score for last time."

The corner of Mimi's lips twitched. Breaking out into another smile, her eyes held a degree of amus.e.m.e.nt.

"My apologies, but his schedule is full evening the score with me." Mimi's sweet voice held a lilt of laughter.

Monty's expression faltered, a look of disbelief overtaking his features. Giving him one last playful smile, Mimi turned her heels and walked out of the bar. Waiting for her driver, Mimi glanced at a pair of wild daisies growing on the side of the road. At that moment, Mimi's eyes slanted into a faint smile.

She suddenly got an idea of where Shen Jue might be.
