27 CHAPTER 27 : Black and White

"Greeting 2nd Prince Long Jie", Bai Wu chen is just taking a walk around the Jian Palace, when he noticed a figure at a pagoda.

"Wu Chen, no need to be too polite", Long Jie already heard his footsteps approaching before he even speaks. He admits, when he first learn Li Xi Rui is sheltering a man, he had been jealous. So he marched to the Li residence and met her father. After the left prime minister explains everything, he has a little interest in the scholar from outside the capital and he tested Bai Wu Chen. The scholar's view on things is so different that he decided to be his backer.

"Long Jie, is something on your mind?", Bai Wu Chen has been interacting with the 2nd prince for a few days. He thought the 2nd prince is still a bit naive in his view of the world. If he should describe, he looked at the world as black and white. If it's bad, it's black and vice versa. For him there is no grey area.

"Wu Chen, there have been something in my mind and I couldn't find a solution no matter how I try", Long Jiehas been taking advice from Rui Sheng but it's just too exhausting to decipher his words.

"If the prince didn't mind, this humble scholar would like to try solving his highness plight", Bai Wu Chen offered.

"There is a man*cough*..he is an idiot in matters of feeling. But there is a lady. She provoked his anger at first and they have been at odds since then. As time goes by, he realized he is already in love with her. This lady however has been hurt by him too many times that she seems to hate the man", Long Jie keep on gazing faraway while he narrated the story.

"If this scholar could be presumptuous, is the lady in Long Jie's story might be Miss Li?", Bai Wu Chen probes.

"You really are a clever one. It is indeed Li Xi Rui", Long Jie smile wryly. "She seems to hate me so much", he added.

"This scholar heard some gossips while in the street. So it's true Long Jie and miss Li couldn't stand each other?", Bai Wu Chen continues his probing.

Long Jie nodded.

"So in Long Jie's mind is miss Mu black or white?", Bai Wu Chen questioned.

After a long silence, Long Jie answered, "At first she is black. Always scolding others, always fiesty. But now, the black seems to slowly fading. Is that possible? To be neither white or black?". Long Jie is confused.

"It seems like Long Jie has discovered the grey area", Bai Wu Chen nodded his head and smile. "Long Jie, human cannot always be only black or white. Take miss Li for example, almost everything she did had reasons behind it. Has it occurred to you to find out those reasons?", Bai Wu Chen glanced at the man in front of him.

Long Jie cold face now seems a bit pale. 'He just realised his view is shattered. He must be in shocked', Bai Wu Chen concluded.

"Then, in miss Li's mind is Long Jie black or white?", Bai Wu Chen continued his question.

"..I wouldn't know. Perhaps it might be black", Long Jie sullenly said.

"It seems like Miss Li and Long Jie could have a heart to heart talk", Bai Wu Chen smile. 'It seems like there's hope for this 2nd prince', he thought.

"Perhaps..", Long Jie's mind has long gone to a lady inside the Li mansion.

Meanwhile, the said lady is in a trance with her effort to develop a new recipe. She is in the middle of brainstorming for her newest 'fried foods' recipes.
