Chapter 392 - Received Her Retribution

As they arrived at the airport, Li Qin Yao glanced at the guards who were trailing them from a distance that Qi Ming Wei had arranged for them.

Last night, her husband had explained to her about the Qi and Zhang's family connection. Although she had seen how powerful the Qi's can be, Li Qin Yao did not know that the Zhang family was their financial backer.

When Zhang Jing married his wife, the Qi family had helped him until he got to where they were. Now that their family was better, Zhang Jing had wanted to return the help. For his wife, he was willing to support the Qi financially.

The Qi family would offer them their protection and help them whenever they were in trouble while the Zhang family would continue to help them financially. This was what the arrangement that Zhang Jing made and it has been going on for years.

Li Qin Yao felt as if she was to be blamed when she heard that the Qi's were facing troubles to help her. However, her worry about the safety of their family overrode everything.

Her husband convinced her that the Qi would sooner expand their influence into Capital City even without her trouble and he then showed her a few important documents related to Zhang and Qi's family's cooperation. The couple spent a few hours talking about this matter and slept only for a while.

Fortunately, Auntie Su came along with them to this trip to look after Li Xue and the couple managed to get more time to sleep once they reached their hotel.

Once they had enough rest, Li Qin Yao went over to check on her daughter. She spent a while playing around with Li Xue and coax her to sleep before she goes to the hospital to look after her grandparents.

Ever since Li Mu Chen was hospitalized, her grandparents had spent most of their time accompanying their granddaughter.

Just as the two stepped out of the hotel, Li Qin Yao heard her phone started to ring. She stared at the caller ID for a while and answered the call.

"Cousin sister, I heard that you were in Capital City," Li Ming Han's voice could be heard over the phone. "Are you going to the hospital?"

"Un. I'm heading over there with my husband right now. I heard that both grandfather and grandmother were there as well?"

"Yes," Li Ming Han spoke. "Cousin sister, tell me when you're approaching soon. I will wait for you downstairs."

Li Qin Yao ended the call and was surprised to see that there would be two cars with guards escorting them to the hospital. Although she thought that this was a bit too much, in the end, the safety of her family came first.

She glanced at the hotel and frowned as she thought of her daughter. Although she did not want to leave her daughter, Li Qin Yao knew that it would not be appropriate to bring along their daughter.

"Don't worry," Zhang Yu Han patted her on the back. "I have ȧssigned a few guards to look after Li Xue. Moreover, Nian Ting would be with them too. Li Xue and Auntie Su were familiar with her. There should not be a problem."

"Hmm." She nodded. Hearing his words, Li Qin Yao was ȧssured. The two entered the vehicle and the driver took them to the hospital.

When they arrived, Li Ming Han was already waiting for them in the lobby. He greeted the couple and brought them to the ward where Li Mu Chen was staying.

A police officer was guarding outside the room where Li Mu Chen was staying. Her grandparents were waiting outside the room with a tired and dispirited look on their faces.

"Grandfather, grandmother," Li Qin Yao went over to her grandparents and hugged them. Earlier, she had listened to Li Ming Han about their cousin's condition and understood why the two elders were too worried.

Li Mu Chen had broken four ribs and her ankle. There were stitches all over her body and because of the impact on her head, it was unsure whether she would be able to wake up again. Even if she woke up, Li Mu Chen would probably not be able to live her life as usual.

"Yao Yao, why are you here?" Mu Ling Xi asked.

"Cousin Ming Han called and tell me what happened," Li Qin Yao said. "I came to look after you two."

Mu Ling Xi buried herself in her granddaughter's embrace and broke into a sob.

Although she was furious with Li Mu Chen when she heard that she had tried to hurt her cousin, Mu Ling Xi had never wished for something like this to happen to her granddaughter.

Previously, they had tried to find out about the in-mates who had beaten their granddaughter to this state and had wanted this person to be brought up to justice. But no matter what, the prison could not give out a name. However, the prison did promise that the inmates would be facing harsh punishment.

Li Qin Yao patted on her grandmother's back as she tried to console her. She turned her head to look through the glass room and saw that her uncle, Li Jing was by his daughter's side.

At this time, Li Qin Yao did not know what was on her uncle's mind. Looking at his slightly hunched back, she wondered if he was regretting that he spent most of his time in the army and had not been with his daughter to watch as she grew up.

"Yao Yao."

Hearing her name, Li Qin Yao turned around and saw her cousin, Li Mu Bai walking over to them.

"When did you arrived?" Li Mu Bai asked.

"This morning," Li Qin Yao said.

Zhang Yu Han watched his wife exchange a brief conversation with her cousin before she went back to console her grandmother. He retracted his gaze and watched Li Mu Bai leaning on the wall with his gaze were on his sister who was lying on the other side of the glass wall. He recalled his conversation with Qi Ming Wei and decided to talk to Li Mu Bai.

"Are you alright?" Zhang Yu Han asked.

"Yes." He looked at him with a weak and tired smile curled on his lips. "Thank you for coming."

Zhang Yu Han nodded before he started to ask about Li Mu Chen's condition casually.

"I know that what my sister did was wrong," Li Mu Bai spoke after a long hesitation. "But she had received her retribution now. I hope... you won't hold a grudge with my sister."

"I seem to remember you once had mentioned that your sister won't be able to do those things by herself," Zhang Yu Han spoke.

Li Mu Bai froze at his question. "Yes. You might think I am biased towards my sister, but…"

"If you don't mind, can you tell me about it?"
