Chapter 172 - Accidentally Got Carried Away

Li Qin Yao did not know how long has passed, but it was when her phone was ringing from across the room that she realized how improper her position was.

The two of them panted with their foreheads pressed together. Her both hands were resting on Zhang Yu Han's shoulder, and she was standing on one leg. To stabilized herself, Li Qin Yao had her knees pressed on the leather chair, just between his crotch.

She was only planning to give him a short kiss. How did it turn to this?

It seemed that once she had a higher ground, Li Qin Yao accidentally got carried away.

Li Qin Yao pulled away from Zhang Yu Han and stared at him in a daze. The way Zhang Yu Han was looking at her made her red face turned another shade darker. Suddenly, Li Qin Yao was embarrassed by her action.

She tried to stand up to fetch her phone, but Li Qin Yao soon realized that she was unable to move. Zhang Yu Han had his hand on the back of her head, preventing her from escaping.

"I need to answer my phone," Li Qin Yao whispered.

Zhang Yu Han frowned as he heard her words but it does not seem as if he had the intention to let her go.

Seeing the way this woman smiled teasingly at him, Zhang Yu Han suddenly regretted his decision to play with fire. Now that he had tasted her kiss, it was difficult for him to let go.

The phone across the room started to blast off again.

Li Qin Yao gave him a peck on his lips and called his name, "Zhang Yu Han."

With a heavy sigh, Zhang Yu Han finally released his hands to let her go.

Li Qin Yao stood up abruptly and walked away to fetch her phone on the sofa. Her mood changed when she saw her mother's name on the screen. Li Qin Yao quickly slid her finger across the screen and placed it to her ear.

"Why did you take so long to answer?" Xu Yilan said before her daughter could properly greet her.

"I was away," Li Qin Yao said. She cleared her throat and immediately changed the conversation. "Mom, why did you call? Are you back from the outstation?"

"Hmm," Xu Yilan answered. "I was going to ask if you have any plan for dinner."

Li Qin Yao glanced at Zhang Yu Han across the room. His head bowed to look at the documents on his table.

"Are you with Yu Han?" Xu Yilan guessed when her daughter did not answer immediately.

Li Qin Yao bit her slightly swollen lips as she nodded. "Un."

"Well, that's perfect. Ask him to come over to our place to have dinner together," Xu Yilan said. "Anyway, one of the light bulbs in the living room is broken. I can ask him to change them as well."

Li Qin Yao let out a chuckle. Then, she spoke in a low voice, "Mom, are you really inviting him for dinner, or are you only inviting him over to let him change the bulb for you?"

"What's wrong with taking advantage of his height? Anyway, if you cannot rely on him on a small matter, how can you hope to rely on him for something big?"

Li Qin Yao laughed. She chatted with her mother a little bit and turned to Zhang Yu Han. "Zhang Yu Han." She watched him lifted his face to look at her and continued, "My mother invited you to come over to our place for dinner. Do you want to come?"

When both Zhang Yu Han and Li Qin Yao arrived at her apartment, the sky has already turned dark. The couple went into the apartment building carrying a few bags of fruits and health supplements that Zhang Yu Han insisted on buying.

As they walked into the house, both Zhang Yu Han and Li Qin Yao could smell the delicious food that Xu Yilan had cooked.

Xu Yilan was carrying a bowl of steaming dishes into the dining room she saw the couple walked in. Zhang Yu Han greeted his future mother-in-law politely and handed over the item he bought with him.

"Why did you bought so much?" Xu Yilan said as she peered into the bags. "Come. Go and wash your hands. Then, we can have dinner together. I don't know what you like, so I just cook whatever available in the refrigerator."

"Auntie, don't worry. I'm not picky about food," Zhang Yu Han said. He looked at the dishes on the table and noted that those dishes were what he usually ate with Li Qin Yao. Because he often accompanied Li Qin Yao to eat out, Zhang Yu Han grew to like those dishes.

Soon, the three of them began to have their meal together while chatting about their daily life.

"Right, Yu Han, I went to that health club that you suggested the other day with a friend," Xu Yilan said to Zhang Yu Han. "But, my friend mentioned that the club is quite expensive. Is that really alright?"

"Auntie, don't worry about the price. That health club is in collaboration with our hotel. It didn't cost a lot," Zhang Yu Han said. "Next time if you wanted to visit the health club again, you can use that card that I gave you the last time. You don't need to worry about the expense."

Li Qin Yao watched as her mother picked up a dish for Zhang Yu Han and wonder when did her boyfriend give her mother a card to the health club.

When did the two of them contact each other behind her back?

Now that she thought about it, Li Qin Yao was sure that he had not received any card to that same expensive health club from Zhang Yu Han. She turned to Zhang Yu Han with an inquiring gaze and he only replied to her with a smile.

Li Qin Yao made a mental note to ask her Zhang Yu Han about this matter before he went back home.

After dinner, Li Qin Yao helped her mother to clean the dishes and got shooed away. When she came back into the living room, Zhang Yu Han was in the middle of changing a light bulb for her mother. Li Qin Yao watched him from a distance and was about to head over to help him stabilized the chair under him when her phone rang.

Li Qin Yao walked over to the sofa where she had left her purse and took out her phone. A small smile appeared on her lips when she looked at the name on the screen. Swiftly, Li Qin Yao slid her finger on that green buŧŧon to pick up the call.

"Yue Xiu," Li Qin Yao called out cheerily. "What is it? Why did you call me at a time like this?" She glanced at the clock and realized that it was still early in Country S.

"Yao Yao." As compared to Li Qin Yao, Han Yue Xiu's voice was not as cheery. "I need your help."
