Chapter 16 - Money

Chloe's heart leaped out of her ċhėst. Is this real? Somebody pinch me. Brian was still waiting for an answer while she was in shock. "Yeah. We can go out. You mean on a date right?" Brian finds amusement in her question. "Yes, silly girl on a date." "Yeah, that's not a problem. Can we go tomorrow? I have plans tonight." Brian raised his eyebrow. "Oh really, What kind of plans do you have?" "I have to get my room back. My sadistic boyfriend kinda stole it from me." This made Brian grin. "So I have earned the title boyfriend?" "That's all you heard. Haha, you didn't hear me call you sadistic?" "Honestly, no. All I heard was 'boyfriend.'" Walking back to their cars Brian tried to convince Chloe to ride with him. She refused because she wasn't sure how far things would go given the opportunity.

....

Phillip found himself at Sally's yelling about Chloe and how she hit him. "Shut up Phillip. For twenty minutes now you have done nothing but bitch and complain. She doesn't want you anymore, and frankly, I'm beginning to see why." "Watch your mouth, Sally. You are still carrying my child. If I wanted you to speak, I would tell you to." Sally sat pissed off at Phillip. She couldn't believe he spoke to her that way. If she were Chloe, he wouldn't have spoken to her like that. "I can't believe you would say that. Do you not love this child or me?" "Honestly, no. I despise both of you. If you hadn't gotten pregnant, Chloe wouldn't have ever found out." Sally began to cry; she loved Phillip, so why was he treating her this way? "You are a bastard. I don't want this child anymore. I thought if I got pregnant, then you would leave that prude and marry me." Phillip grew angry and slapped Sally across the cheek. "I told you to watch your mouth. You will not talk trash about her especially with the lack of experience you have. Did you get what you wanted? You have everything she had, are you happy?" Phillip was enraged with Sally. It wasn't really because of Sally though. It was because Chloe chose some random guy over him.

...

The night turned to day, and Chloe found herself waking to her new room. She looked around and found a familiar face laying next to her. In a panic, she checked to see if she was still dressed. "Whew!" Relieved that she was still dressed she laid her head back down. She was taking in the wonderful sight of Brian sleeping. His messy hair laid on his cheek, his long eyelashes, his luscious lips. She laid there admiring his sleeping face. "Are you gonna lay there and stare at me or kiss me?" Chloe blushed, she thought of the passionate kiss they shared yesterday and knew it couldn't happen again. If it did, would she have the willpower to stop him? "I think I'm just gonna get up now. Busy day, but why are you in my bed?" "To be honest. I couldn't sleep knowing that you were in the next room. After that kiss yesterday it seems to be all I can think of. However, silly girl, don't worry, I won't push you to do anything you don't want to do, ever." Brian reached over and kissed her on the forehead. A bit disappointed, Chloe got up and began getting ready for work.

Brian was disappointed in himself. Last night, after they got home, she got ready for bed. He laid on his bed and kept thinking of her. What was this feeling? It felt exciting. He wanted to rush to her room and ravish her. He knew she was still a vɨrġɨn and he wanted to be the only man she would ever touch and that would ever touch her. In the midst of his thoughts, he found himself in her bed wanting to protect this silly perfect angel.

"Don't you have work today?" Chloe's voice invaded Brian's thoughts. "Yes, ma'am. I have to complete a buyout." "Okay then get up and get ready. I have to go to 'the cafe.' I have been procrastinating, and I can't do that anymore." "Silly girl, I have more than enough money to support both of us. You don't have to work." "Silly boy, I don't need your money, and I don't need to work. I work because I like to. I have a cafe because it employs others. The people I employ, I also enjoy being around." Brian was impressed. To be able to meet a woman like her, and she is completely independent, it was amazing. He did feel a little more useless than normal. He still felt happy because he had found a woman who liked him for him and not his money. A woman who can support herself and not rely upon others for support, this just might be the woman of his dreams.
