Chapter 6 - Woo Jin, meet Tale...

Name:Love, Tale Author:4ola_aina
Breakfast was amazing, she appreciated good food and this was no exception. It definitely surpassed the bowl of cereal she had planned to have.

"Thank you for breakfast," Tale said standing up to clear the table. She definitely wasn't a lazy bean, he could tell.

"Thanks for not kicking me out." he replied joining her.

"You didn't leave me much choice." she reminded him.

Who would? He asked himself honestly and that scared him. She was beautiful but he had never been one to act on impulse.

Her phone rang out from her bedroom as she dropped everything she was holding to go answer it. It was her best friend, Precious.

"Hello, hey girl..."

"Don't hey girl me, you said we needed to talk, who are we beating up?"

"Nobody." tale responded laughing as she closed the door behind her. Precious has been her friend since her university days, 7 years later and their friendship is still standing tall, she could not be more thankful for true friendsh.i.p.s.

Precious was a lecturer, at 24 she was currently the youngest lecturer at the Eastern part of the country if not all around the country.

She was intelligent, smart, beautiful and a really good friend.

"So what's going on? What do we need to discuss?"

"How about we talk later?" Tale responded not feeling comfortable to talk about Su Yan while he was in her house.

"If you are alive to talk later coz I'm about to kill you for the suspense you just put me into. Okay give me a hint!" Precious pleaded.

"It's about a man, boy, the devil." ears shot up at the other end of the line

"You met somebody, how? Was he downloaded because I know you don't go out, did you join a dating app? And why are you whispering? Oh my, you are together right now aren't you? Have you done him yet?" Precious let her questions roll out.

"Okay, that's a lot to process but i promise to tell you all about it tomorrow, let's meet tomorrow and you can ask me anything." Tale replied laughing at how her friend must be feeling, Precious was a busy body and she didn't mind, it was better to have someone that cared a little too much than to have none at all.

Precious said something on the other side but Tale wasn't listening anymore as she could hear footsteps in her kitchen, was he cleaning now?

"I have to go." Tale whispered into the phone "Oh my, you are totally not alone, use protection!" precious replied laughing.

"Shut up, bye!" tale said finally cutting the call.

As she hung up the phone she put on a stern look as she came out of her room to find Su Yan about to sit on her couch, the dining table was wiped clean. That was fast she thought, as she tried to not think about what else those hands could do.

"It was my best friend." she said immediately, "She's a nosy one sometimes but with good intentions." she noticed he seemed to relax once she explained, did he think she was talking to a man? She spoilt that show before it even played out.

"That's good. We all have one of those." He smiled as she sat down across from him on the single sofa.

"So what exactly is it that is really happening, I mean you and I, why are you here?" Using a throw pillow to cover her thighs.

"I thought i was clear on that." he said stretching long legs in front of him. He didn't know why he was at her house either but he enjoyed the mystery of it all.

He stayed off women since he left his country, actually he stayed off women in general.

"That doesn't make it valid." She stood up to pace as she spoke "If we are going to even be friends or whatever this may be, you are not allowed to show up whenever you please, you can't come to my house because you feel like it." She said as she demonstrated with her hands what she felt was accurate enough.

"Believe me, you would be seeing less of me as i actually have a job." Su Yan replied standing up. Even he didn't believe his words.

"Good for you" she retorted.

"Second, I'm not sure i like you yet, definitely do not trust you, one doesn't just turn friends with a stranger in less than 24hours"

"Don't trust me? You just had breakfast with me; i could have easily poisoned you!"

Her eyes widened under that realization, she wasn't a careless person what was wrong with her?

"You are an accountant am I right?" he stated leaving no room for denial

"How do you know that?"

"Well for one, your books," he replied pointing to the little shelf that held a few books, her real library however was in her bedroom. It was all books about poetry and love and a life she could only spend days dreaming off.

"So that implies what exactly?" She took a step back as he stood as well.

She thought she has seen stranger things at this point.

"It means you've spent better part of your days looking at numbers that you now think everything in life has to add up and be equal, but you can't do that with feelings and people" he was talking more to himself than he was to her.

"Uh, what feelings, what people? You know what, that isn't the point... You still aren't allowed to..."

"Let's go" he said as he grabbed her hands as gently as possible but firm.

"Go where? I have work to do, i do not have the time to..."

"Usually i always comply with a woman's request but I have a feeling going out to a public place would put you at ease."

He looked down and noticed she wasn't having much clothes on her.

"Go change!" He gave her no chance to think or reason things through but she turned and walked to her room shutting the door behind her. The part of her hand where he held still held a little warmth, his hands where wide and competent but had a gentle touch to them. What was she doing, she had work to do. She should lock herself in her room and make him wait till he got tired and left but what was that going to help her accomplish. So she opened the part of her closet that held the clothes she was told never to wear because it wasn't Christian like of her as a worker in a church.

He was given her 5 more minutes before he thought of executing his half-baked plan of tearing her door down.

She chose that time to step out of the room, her hair had come loose and brown curls danced around her shoulders, was that makeup? She wore a midi black gown with really thin straps, a denim cropped jacket hung loosely about her shoulder as she had button it loosely and she wore a simple black trainers and had a mini bag hanging around her waist, it housed her glasses.

"Lead the way mister! Let's go" she liked the effect she had on him... She grabbed her phone off the couch and nudged him to the door.

As they walked to his car she tried to open the door when his hands closed over hers and she held her breath and slowly withdrew her hands.

"Let me, my dad always said to open car doors for a lady"

"Oh did he now?" she replied not recognizing her own voice. She climbed to the front seat while he circled to his side and entered.

"So where are we going?" She asked smiling.

"Someplace nice, maybe a place you haven't been before."

"I'd argue with you on that but I hardly ever go out, so surprise me."

They had just driven two streets and into the major road when an Orange Wrangler Rubicon 4x4 Jeep started trailing them.

Woo Jin had the tracker on Su Yan activated, the bastard had the guts to leave the house without any prior notice on a Saturday, an act he hadn't done before, he kept replaying how he would be in big trouble if anything were to happen to Su Yan...

They pulled up at wooden house, a restaurant that represented the name it called itself. Everything was made out of wood; the floor was covered in nice tiles. She took it all in. She loved decor so much it made her feel she was in the wrong line of profession.

As they sat down, ushered by a young girl who may be about same age as her, she asked. "What makes you think i haven't been here before?"

"Well for one, i don't think, i know." he finished as he smiled. This time she smiled back and he felt they were definitely getting somewhere.

"We just had breakfast, I'm not so hungry." she reminded him.

"Yes, me neither but just wait and see." She smiled again and nodded.

He knew for a fact that trying to make sense of his actions wasn't going to get him anywhere, so he was facing the problem, the beautiful problem head on.

Woo Jin stood at the doorway of the restaurant completely in awe. What was happening, was he in an alternate universe.

This time he walked to their table.

"Hey bastard." he said in Chinese as he closed in on them. Su Yan looked up from Tale to see Woo Jin striding like he was heading for war. He stood as he took his best friends hand in a tight grip sending a silent message as he reached their table.

"Woo Jin, meet Tale" he said in English.

"Tale, meet my best friend, a very nosy one too, Woo Jin"

As Tale stood up, every word Woo Jin had failed him.
