Chapter -1 - In the beginning 2.

Name:Love, Tale Author:4ola_aina
Su Yan thought hard on how he was going to break the news of his leaving to his parents.

Their family was one who built and like his fore fathers before him, they built cleverly well. Their name was carved into China developing story.

His great great great great grandfather Zhang had made his living laying bricks at first, and then he grew into building roads over time. Their wealth and fortune was built off on a small laborers beginning. He had built a fortune that made people respect him. Su Yan had inherited the hands and heart of a builder and thanks to years of learning and education both in China and in the states he also had a hard sense of business and he was going to use both now, but he was going to do so, on his own.

He remembered the words of grand pa Su, the man whose name had been giving to him "you learn from the ground up my child". The family spent more time now in boardrooms, meetings, functions than they did on sites. But going to a new country meant he was going to be doing just that, and he couldn't wait to get started, to get his hands dirty. The back aches, the aching muscles, the sweat. He was signing up for it, like his fore fathers before him.

It was the third night before he decided on telling his parents he was leaving. He was certain of what he wanted to do now. No going back.

"I will not allow it" Zhang Han fist came down on the large mahogany table in his study after his son broke the news of his leaving to him.

"Our Wealth has been made to endure in the Zhang family for over five generations and I know the value of hard work. All our lives, that is what we are bred to do. I'm asking, no I'm telling you. It's time for us to truly expand." Su Yan explained.

"Expand? Yes. But not Africa. It's dangerous."

"We are friends with the Woo family for a reason." Su Yan pointed out.

"I'll not allow it."

"You don't have a choice," he stated to his father as he stood to his full length. "I'm set to leave in two days father and so be it."

His father stood up too to a good 6ft; he was the older version of his son, a splitting image and a tough man too.

"We have never had any business relations with any west African government."

"First time for everything father."

"You can't be serious about letting him go," His mother who had watched them battle with words spoke up.

"It cant be so bad."

"It can." She let them see she was scared.

"I promise you mother," he took her hands in his "I will be okay, nothing can or will hurt me, never again." He assured her.

His mind was made up, that much he knew.

...

"How did it go?" Woo Jin asked the minute he stepped into his quarters.

He nodded. He smoothened his hair over his scar out of habit now. He was longing for a change, for anything out of the normal glitz, money, popularity and lies of a world like his.

Maybe sometime in a remote village in Nigeria would give him a whole new perspective in life and teach him to see things differently. Maybe he would love it, maybe he would hate it. He was counting on both.

...

Angel looked at him with wet eyes and a sad face as he was set to leave their estate for the airport. He had just gone over to the mini mansion to say good bye to grand ma Zhang, she may never talk again but she listens, and she smiled at him. If her nodding was a blessing, he got it.

"I want to come with you." she cried.

"I hear the weather over there is hot and comes with a lot of bugs."

"Why are you going?"

"Because, someone has to make sure you keep having nice things." he joked as he touched her raven hair and stroked it.

His mum and dad would get over him living to a strange country once he entered the plane. His twin sister would also be over it. The only one who might truly miss him in every sense of the word was his darling angel. He gave her one last hug and urged her to get ready for school.

"I'd miss you."

"Every day little one." he replied sweetly.

He heard footsteps behind them and his mood changed. He became the Su Yan the rest of the world knows. One without emotions and arrogant as they say, the butler came to announce that the car was ready and his bags packed.

He gave angel another hug as he left the foyer and walked to the family limo. Woo Jin waited for him by the door.

"You still sure about this?"

"Very."

"Ok, into the wild we go."

They boarded a plane to Lagos state, Nigeria.

"We will be taking another flight to Port Harcourt, Rivers state Nigeria once we land in Lagos." He announced to his friend once they were seated in first class.

"Why don't we stay in Lagos, it is one of the most populous city in the country and I hear it's a place that never sleeps and also—"

"I want quiet. Port Harcourt is the right city, despite it being one of the major cities in the country too."

"I trust your judgment."

"You have no choice."

"Well, what can I say, the beauty of being your friend." Wherever Su Yan went, he had no choice but to be there. He was after all his only guard.

He eased into his seat and closed his eyes; it was the first day of the rest of his life.

Nigeria.

A country in West Africa where its people have been recognized as the world happiest people, sitting pretty on the gulf of Guinea, a country with over five hundred languages and over a thousand different language dialects. Thirty six states and their capitals makes up the country with the federal capital territory based in Abuja.
