Chapter 391 Soul Suppressing Stele

After resting for a day, everyone started moving and continued walking into the deep ends of the Underground Tomb. The major powers led the way while the mercenaries and adventurers followed closely behind. Even the few guys that were injured were struggling to keep up.

The Underground Tomb was filled with unknown dangers. No one knew if any Dead Souls would come swarming in after the major powers left. They could only enter but couldn't exit through the pitch-black door. Without any way for retreat, their only chance for survival was to move forward. They were afraid that they would only be waiting for their deaths by staying in the same spot!

There was an identical pitch-black and huge door opposite the plaza. According to Scorpion King Ymort's memories, they would only truly enter the Underground Tomb's perimeter after stepping through the door.

The outer ring of the Underground Tomb looked similar to the Underground City in Valenia Volcanic Valley with the gloomy sky, cloudy air, and a stream of obscure and repressing energy waves filling the air. Overlooking the land, they could only see the continuous ups and downs of the hills, but not the end of it.

After walking out of the plaza and arriving at the hill area, the major powers began spreading themselves out unanimously and continued forward in different directions. The mercenaries and adventurers following behind had split up after weighing their options. Some of them followed after the strong and powerful Church, while some followed far behind the Dark Association that had a strong lineup. There were also a few of them who formed groups and acted on their own in hopes of finding some treasure...

"Look, my Lord. Which direction do you think will be most suitable for us?" Evelyn enquired for Yang Ling's opinion as she looked at the never-ending rows of hills.

"Well... I've heard that we will be able to truly enter the Underground Tomb if we continued walking eastwards! However, please go ahead without me as I still have a few matters to attend to. Just burst this crystal if there's any trouble, and I'll be able to locate you." After deliberating for a moment, Yang Ling took out an improved Dolphin Sonar Wizard Amulet and gifted it to the slender and graceful Mermaid Evelyn.

Originally, the Dolphin Sonar, Sky Blasting Thunder, and other Wizard Amulets could only be used in conjunction with the Wizard Power. However, after fumbling with it for a long time, he successfully refined a batch of improved Wizard Amulets. It could be used once the Magical Energy or Battle Energy was inserted. Although its power had decreased, it could still be used for long-distance reporting and assistance requests without any issues.

With the Scorpion King Ymort, a former Underground Tomb Guard, at his side, he no doubt knew the location of the real entrance to the Underground Tomb. However, they would only be looking for death to charge in rashly without sufficient preparation.

Constructing the Teleportation Spell Formation, collecting all valuables from the perimeter of the Underground Tomb, and planning a discreet attack on the Church army... All these must be carried out in secret and couldn't be done together with Evelyn and her company.

"This is a shell of a conch. We will be able to locate you when you blow into it. You as well, be cautious on the way as you have fewer people on your side!"

Evelyn was evidently disappointed as she saw that Yang Ling was unwilling to carry out the operation together. She received the Wizard Amulet from Yang Ling and carefully hid it tight in her chest, and passed Yang Ling a conch that was used by the Sea Tribe for transmitting messages. After this, she led her tribe members eastwards and left in strides. The slender and graceful silhouette soon disappeared behind a hill.

"This bright and beautiful mermaid seems pretty good, sir. It's a pity that her buttocks are a little small!" The Corpse Wizard King smiled as Yang Ling played carefully with the spiral-shaped conch that Evelyn had left behind.

"Hehe. Don't be anxious, Rodriguez. If we ever meet a woman with big buttocks, we will definitely find a way to keep her for you!" Yang Ling shook his head as he looked at the lecherous Corpse Wizard King and once again encountered this old pervert's unusual taste in beauty. "Hurry up and construct a Teleportation Spell Formation nearby and summon your Undead Amry. Stop thinking about somebody else's big buttocks!"

"Summon the Undead Army?" The Corpse Wizard King hesitated and looked at Yang Ling with a puzzled expression. "Sir, do you mean..."

"Hehe. It's such a shame not to have some fun with those fellows from the Church when the Underground Tomb is this huge!" Yang Ling smiled as he looked at the direction that the Church had went. He paused for a moment before continuing, "Rodriguez, you will be an Undead Guard for the next few days. You should know well what you should do, just don't leave any evidence behind!"

"Kekeke. Good, I like this idea!" The Corpse Wizard King did not need more explanation and quickly understood Yang Ling's intentions.

The Underground Tomb reeked with death and was filled with zombies, mummies, and other dead souls. While this was somewhere dangerous that ordinary people mustn't stay for long, it was a good place that was hard to come by for the Corpse Wizard King.

The gloomy sky, dull and repressed feeling, cloudy air, and the death energy and dead souls everywhere...That place made him feel as if he had returned to the Dimension of Dead Souls, where the Undead Spells came to him like ducks to water.

After constructing the Teleportation Spell Formation close to the plaza's entrance and arranging Restrictions for protection to ensure his retreat route, Yang Ling led the Dark Dragon King, Scorpion King Ymort, and the others of the five Wizard Guard to collect all the banners and valuables around the Underground Tomb's perimeter.

According to the plan, the Corpse Wizard King would be posing as an Underground Tomb guard and carry out the operation alone. He would lead the vampires, skeletons, Dead Soul Knights, and the others that he had summoned to track down the Church Army and try to weaken the opposition's strength and get rid of their elites.

The Elder Brown, who had led the troops at every step of the way and proceeded with caution, didn't know how foolish the operation was! It was one thing to search for the Teleportation Portal in the Underground Tomb, but his plan to bring Yang Ling back to the Holy City for torture and interrogation had brought him serious trouble and disaster!

With the Scorpion King Ymort directing the way, Yang Ling led the five great Wizard Guards straight to the Zombie Valley that was a few dozen miles away. There laid a mysterious jade stele that Ymort had tried getting closer to a few times for the past hundreds and thousands of years, but he never found the chance to get his hands on it. Now that the Zombie King Huttings was dead, he wouldn't miss the great opportunity to take advantage of the situation.

Everyone acted swiftly, and after killing off a few groups of zombies and mummies blocking their way, they soon arrived at the dark and creepy Zombie Valley.

The Zombie Valley was so narrow, deep, and dark that they couldn't see the end of it, and zombies were walking around occasionally. There was also a cloud-like black air that loomed above the valley, which would gather and separate from time to time like a huge snake that couldn't stop moving after it had been coiled up.

Ow...

Sensing a foreign scent, a group of zombies roared with their heads thrown back and charged wildly towards them. Their leader stood at around three meters tall, had scars all over his bare body, and held a heavy Darkmetal Longspear. The pike was emitting with a ring of red light under the support of the Battle Energy. It was evident that he was a powerful high-level warrior or knight while he was alive.

"Humph. You are looking for death!"

After snorting coldly, the Dark Dragon King acted before the others and transformed into a Dark Dragon, charging forward while spewing out a mouthful of dragon breath followed shortly by a spew of flames that could touch the sky.

The zombies screamed in pain under his attack. Some of them had their skin completely burned off, while some of the others turned charcoal black from the burning. There were even some of them that were burned into ashes!

"Ah... Go to hell, sinners that trespassed the Underground Tomb!" After the fire simmered down, the giant zombie that had turned charcoal black from the fire jumped at the speed of light and charged forward with his Darkmetal Longspear towards Yang Ling, who was within close proximity. His bloodthirsty eyes were completely red.

Although the giant zombie moved at an extremely high speed, the sharp Longspear was frozen by the Purple Rat Little Ice on Yang Ling's shoulder into sturdy ice statues, and couldn't even move another inch forward as it reached a step away from Yang Ling.

"Hehe, this little guy did well!" Yang Ling was pleased and smiled as the giant zombie froze still in an instant. He continued walking after patting the Purple Rat Little Ice on its head, without a care for the zombie that was in his way.

The souls of the enemies were attacked directly by the Undead Growl of the Crystal Skulls and the Soul Assimilating Light Ray. Even the Church's Dark Templar would suffer a deadly blow if caught unaware, let alone a mob of zombies!

Soon enough, the zombies in the Zombie Valley were all slaughtered by the team, which increased a significant amount of Soul Energy for the Crystal Skull. Without the Zombie King Hutting's directions, the normal zombies wouldn't pose much of a threat to the group.

"This is the Zombie Valley's mysterious Jade Stele, sir. It is completely carved with pictures and symbols, which we are not sure what they are!" According to his memories from hundreds and thousands of years, the Scorpion King Ymort had been circling around in the Zombie Valley and had brought many people in front of the mysterious Jade Stele.

The Jade Stele wasn't big and stood at a person's height. It was cold to the touch and was filled with complicated pictures and symbols, while emitting wisps of faint energy waves.

The lonely Jade Stele in a hollow valley gave off a desolated and sorrowful feeling.

"This is Bu Yi Language, sir. According to the legend, they are characters specially written for the dead souls in ancient times!" The Flying Dragon King Seylius burst out yelling after scrutinizing the characters on the Jade Stele.

His generation of two-legged Flying Dragons had lived in the Dragon Valley and protected the Snow Goddess Temple beneath the Anima Snowy Mountains Lake. Although Seylius couldn't dive into the underwater, that didn't mean that the other Flying Dragons weren't able to.

A few thousand years ago, when he had just learned to fly, a violent earthquake had erupted in the snow mountain, and the usually peaceful lake rose with shocking waves. After the violent earthquake, the Flying Dragon King at that time dived underneath the lake and brought back a small waist plate. It was filled with carvings of symbols and pictures that were similar to the Jade Stele.

According to the eldest and wisest Flying Dragon during that time, it was the Bu Yi Language that was specially written for the undead souls. However, nobody knew what it meant as these characters, which had been passed down from ancient times, had been long lost.

Words that are only meant to be read by the dead souls?

Could it be a script for the deceased from the netherworld? Or an elegy from the Ancient Wizards?

Looking at the mysterious symbols and pictures on the Jade Stele, Yang Ling felt a lingering and strong feeling of desolation and sorrow. This overwhelming feeling had the same effect as the elegy in the Stele on him. He could imperceptibly feel that the mysterious Jade Stele had an unknown and inexplicable link to the Ancient Wizard, who he has been painstakingly searching for.
