Chapter 29：Big Boss is Angry

Ji Xiaonian could not fathom what her dorm mates were talking about.

She asked Tang Caiqi immediately, "What forum? What are you girls talking about?"

"Eh? Don't you know about it yet? The photo of you being kissed by the handsome man was uploaded to the university's forum."

Tang Caiqi quickly took out her phone and pointed at its screen. "There, that's you, right? Oh gosh, Xiaonian, you're really something. When did you get to know this gorgeous man and why didn't you tell us about it? You don't regard us as your friends, is that why?"

Ji Xiaonian glanced at the phone. She was completely stunned when she saw the photo of herself being kissed by that strange man.

Goodness, who took this photo?

She snatched the phone from her friend and explained hastily, "Caiqi, Xiao Xiao, it's not how it seems. I don't even know this man and he's a total nut."

Oh no, Bai Yan would misunderstand the situation if he learned about this.

Had those people lost their minds as well? They did not have to upload the photo online!

She would surely beat that man up if they ever meet again.

"I think he's really good-looking, don't you like carrying on with good-looking men?" The sound of Fang Miaoling's sneering tone entered her ears. 

Ji Xiaonian raised her head and saw the owner of that voice walking into the room with a smug expression on her face. Ji Xiaonian's face dropped all of a sudden but words failed to escape from her mouth.

She immediately remembered Lu Yifei, the bodyguard that her elder brother had arranged for her. He must be able to resolve this difficult situation for her. She quickly grabbed her mobile phone and pushed through her dorm mates to reach for the door. 

Ji Xiaonian dashed to an empty walkway in the dorm and dialed Lu Yifei's number.

The moment the other party picked up, she demanded hastily, "Yifei, um… Can you please find a way to contact the Student Association and request that they delete the photo of me that's on our university's forum?"

This was an urgent matter that needed to be dealt with right away. If the news was somehow delivered to Bai Yan, she would not be able to explain herself properly even if she had ten mouths to do the talking for her. 

The person on the other end of the phone call was silent for a few moments before finally questioning gently, "What's your relationship with the man in the photo?"

Lu Yifei had also stumbled upon the photo of that little girl being kissed on his phone. He was just wondering if he should call her to ask when that little girl rang him.

Ji Xiaonian justified herself right away, "There's no relationship between the two of us at all. I don't even know him and he's just a random scoundrel, a rascal. Yifei, you're my bodyguard and I'm telling you now that this matter made me furious. You must teach him a lesson on my behalf."

Blood was boiling beneath her skin.

She would not be able to calm down if she did not vent out her anger.

That was right, she had to let that man know that Ji Xiaonian was not someone who he could afford to offend.

"Alright, based on what you've said, I take it as he's harassed you. Rest assured, I'll take the matter into my own hands. Don't get too caught up with it, okay?"

"Okay."

Ji Xiaonian finally heaved a sigh of relief after she hung up. 

She found a quiet corner to sit down and scrolled through her phone.

As expected, Lu Yifei was truly efficient in his work. In less than an hour, every discussion regarding her being kissed forcefully was removed from the university's forum, even the photo had been taken down.

Another thirty minutes passed when she received a call from Lu Yifei out of the blue.

"Xiaonian," the other person said.

Ji Xiaonian replied quickly, "Yes, I've noticed that the photos had been taken down. Thanks, Yifei."

"Not a problem because that's part of my job. I want to confirm something with you though, do you really not know the man who kissed you?"

Ji Xiaonian replied in a resolute and determined tone, "That's right, I don't know him, at all."

"Okay then, if so, I'll go teach him a lesson in a bit."

"Okay," Ji Xiaonian replied with rage, "But don't be too harsh as well."

She only wanted to warn him to not provoke her again.

There was no need to cause him any major harm since they might not encounter each other again in the future.

"Deal. I'll hang up now if there's nothing else. Call me if anything happens again, okay?"

"Okay."

Ji Xiaonian inhaled deeply after she hung up the phone and prayed to Buddha sincerely for not letting Bai Yan learn about this incident. However, it had only been posted online for about half an hour. Bai Yan who was always busy with a myriad of affairs every day would not have time to concern himself with the university's gossip.

Hence, Bai Yan surely had no idea about this matter.

She retrieved her phone and hurried to her class.

Meanwhile, over in the CEO's office in Shengtian Tower, Bai Yan had been staring at his phone for several minutes.

Fortunately, there was no one in the office. Otherwise, they would either be frozen by the coldness that exuded from that man's body or would scurry away after witnessing that man's terrifying grim face.

The photo was sent to him by an unknown number. 

However, with his piercing eyes, he was able to verify this photo and was certain that it was not photoshopped to frame that little girl.

'Haha, really?'

Bai Yan sucked in a breath and placed his phone down on the desk. He dialed the internal connection and instructed, "Secretary Yang, book a plane ticket to England for this afternoon."

The other person did not hesitate and replied humbly, "Yes."

Bai Yan hung up the phone and leaned back into his chair. He continued staring at the photo on his phone because he was too distracted to focus on his work.

It was not until he heard someone knocking on the door that he put away his phone. "Come in," he said coldly.

Ji Chen pushed the door open and entered the room. He who was dressed in Western suit and leather shoes appeared exceptionally charming like a successful man.

He pointed in front of Bai Yan's office desk, pressed both his arms down on the desk and questioned suspiciously at the respected man sitting on the boss' seat, "You're heading to England?"

Bai Yan gave him a sideways glance. Then, he quickly suppressed the unpleasant emotion rising in him and buried his head in the documents.

"Yes, I'm leaving this afternoon."

"Do you know that tomorrow is Xiaonian's birthday?" Ji Chen enquired in a slightly nonchalant tone.

Turned out, Bai Yan acted even more distant than him. He raised his head to meet with Ji Chen's gaze and snorted. "So what if tomorrow's her birthday?"

"The two of us have spent all eighteen of her birthdays with her in the past. If you're leaving for England today, it'll be another six days before your return, eh? Do you not want to celebrate her nineteenth birthday together?"

Both Bai Family and Ji Family had always spent that little girl's birthday with her every year without fail.

Later, when the Ji's parents passed away, the Bai couple would invite both of the Ji siblings over to theirs to celebrate Xiaonian's birthday.

Of course, Ji Chen and Bai Yan were always there without fail.

As far as Ji Chen knew, Bai Yan would also spend time preparing a birthday gift for Xiaonian beforehand. 

Therefore, it was surprising that he did not want to celebrate that little girl's birthday with her this time around.

"I've already instructed my secretary to book the plane ticket. Besides, you'll be there, so does it really matter if I was there or not. Maybe she might prefer to have someone else there to celebrate with her. Is there anything else? If not please leave my office because I've got a lot of work to do."

Bai Yan then kept his head down and did not look at Ji Chen in the eyes again.

Ji Chen was dumbfounded. "Hey, what's with that attitude? Haven't you already accepted her? So why don't you want to celebrate her birthday?"
