Ji Xiaonian carefully tiptoed her way into Bai Yan's room with only a thin nightgown on.

Her goal? To determine whether Bai Yan was a man.

Who was Bai Yan, you may ask?

Bai Yan was a 28-year-old guy that was 6 feet and 2 inches tall. He was the CEO of Shengtian Group, and his name struck fear to the hearts of men as he was the Dragon's Head of the business world.

Heck, it was rumored that Bai Yan was so ruthless that he would use any means at his disposal to achieve his goals.

In order to get on his good side, many had sent countless women to his side, but alas, he had sent them all packing. As such, rumors of him taking a vow of chastity began to take place.

Sometime later, another startling rumor that said he was gay, was spread.

Gay not just for any person, but for the vice president of Shengtian Group, which was none other than Ji Xiaonian's biological brother, Ji Chen.

In order to prove that the rumors being circulated were fake, Ji Xiaonian, who had been around Bai Yan since birth, steeled her resolve. She intended to prove Bai Yan's straightness no matter the cost.

She would show that his only problem was his inability to interact with women.

The patter of flowing water could be heard as she approached Bai Yan's room. The lights to the shower next door were turned on, and she could feel her heartbeat beginning to race upon visualizing the man taking a shower.

A moment later, the doors to the shower swung open.

Ji Xiaonian flinched, but a moment later, she regained her senses and hurriedly struck a pose. Following that, she began her operation to seduce the man walking out.

The man took long strides forward while wiping his wet hair. Sensing that there was someone else present, he lifted his head and immediately spotted the additional occupant.

"Why are you here?" Bai Yan asked, his tone cold but charismatic.

Ji Xiaonian chuckled and inched towards him.

"My brother ... He told me to come to you when I'm afraid of being alone at home."

"…"

Bai Yan's face was expressionless as he pushed her towards the exit. "It'd be best to stay away from me before I get mad."

"Bai Yan, the reason I came over tonight was to debunk the rumors about you. I want to prove that you're straight and that you have no romantic interest in my brother."

She would definitely go mad if Bai Yan truly had feelings for her brother.

Bai Yan was perfect. He was the ideal man and there was not a single flaw to him. She had developed feelings for him back when she was young, and her one and only dream was to become his bride. However, if Bai Yan truly preferred males, Ji Xiaonian had decided that she would rather stay single for the rest of her life.

"…"

Ji Xiaonian's sudden grab had caused the man to freeze in his tracks. He then lowered his head and stared at the young girl with eyes that had a seemingly endless depth to them.

That was all he did. He stared at her with a cold expression without speaking a single word.

In response, Ji Xiaonian lifted her head and glared viciously at him in return. Although her heart thumped with fear as she was scared witless, Ji Xiaonian refused to believe the rumors about the man before her. As such, she mustered whatever courage she had in an effort to prove that the man was straight.

With that, the two were caught in a deadlock. They locked gazes for quite some time, causing the atmosphere within the room to become eerily tense.

"Scram!" All of a sudden, the man yelled coldly and mercilessly pushed the girl away.

As Ji Xiaonian laid on the ground, she looked at Bai Yan's cold expression and instantly felt her heart turn heavy.

In the end, she turned away and ran away pitifully.

The second day.

Ji Xiaonian listlessly dragged herself out of bed, and after freshening up she heard the honk of a car.

She made her way to the window, and upon realizing the car that was parked outside the gates of her villa belonged to Bai Yan, she hurriedly glanced at the driver. Noticing that it was HIM, she began to have flashbacks of the event that happened the night before…

Despite that, her memories were cut short when the man poked his head out of the car window and shouted at her, "Five minutes! Are you coming down or not? If not, you'll be walking to school!"

'School?'

Upon realizing that she still needed to attend school, Ji Xiaonian snapped back to reality and yelled out, "Ah! Oh yeah, I'll be there asap, please hold on, Brother Yan."

Following that, Ji Xiaonian hastily drew her curtains and got a change of clothes.

Ji Xiaonian's brother was on a business trip and her personal driver had taken a few days off due to personal matters. Coupled with the fact that she lived within a wealthy neighborhood located halfway down the hill, hitching a ride with Bai Yan was the only way that she could attend school, as there were rarely any taxis that passed through her area.

After getting herself ready, she grabbed her bag and got into Bai Yan's car.

Ji Xiaonian had assumed that things would be awkward between Bai Yan and herself after what happened the night before.

As such, her face flushed red the moment she left her front door. She was nervous at first, but upon noticing that Bai Yan was no different from usual, her expression soured.

'Could it be that he doesn't have any sense of awkwardness?'

'Or… Does it mean that he doesn't think much of the incident?'
