Chapter 201: Not Synonymous With Destruction But With Nothingness.

Nolan narrowed his eyes as he looked at Kyran. He was not offended at the way Kyran 'ordered' him to fix the array. He did say 'please,' He was only feeling apprehensive at Kyran's sudden enthusiasm. Turning his attention to Zephyr, Nolan recalled what he just said. None of his words could actually give someone enlightenment.

'Unless he told something that only the kid heard,' Nolan thought.

It immediately piqued his interest. But he did not plan to ask what it was. He had plenty of time to force it out on Kyran once they leave for that place.

Anette led Cyneah to the porch the moment Nolan started repairing the array.

Kyran also stepped aside and stood beside Zephyr while Nolan worked.

It did not take long for Nolan to repair the array.

Kyran entered the array again and repeated what he did a while ago except this time, he did not expand the energies immediately. Instead, he let them circulate first within his central core. He did this because of what Zephyr had said. About converting the energies he absorbed first before releasing it. Then an idea came to him after thinking about his 'warping' ability. His warping clearly use Void magic, yet, the things that entered his warp remained intact. He did not question it before because he thought it was just how it worked. But the idea behind it made him wonder now. As for his other Void forms, each had their separate ideas behind them.

'It all depended on the purpose and target of my magic. When I create the Void Barrier, I am not using it simply to create a barrier. I admit, because of the destructive nature of my magic, I tend to think that any form it takes would have that nature. But in truth, I can adjust it by simply changing its nature. Void magic is not synonymous with destruction but with nothingness. Nothingness can give birth to all things because its real nature is nothing, thus, can be anything,' Kyran thought as he received a clear understanding of his magic. 'The reason why my magic appeared destructive, is simply because it reverts all things it touched into nothingness.'

He then recalled what Magic Sense was from all the books he had read that mentioned it.

'Magic sense is another means for mages to perceiv things. Instead of using their five senses, they use their magic to understand things. Moreover, magic sense helps mages understand the runes in magic arrays as long as it both are of the same type. Meaning, is the a mage uses fire magic, once he uses his magic sense to understand a magic array that uses rune writings for fire magic, they will be able to understand it well.'

Kyran lifted his hand and watched the surrounding energies enter from there. He immediately noticed that the color of the energies he absorbed was not purple which was the color of his Void magic. It made him confused but he did not stop what he was doing and simply continue absorbing the energies before circulating them inside his central core. When he was satisfied with the amount of energy he had circulated, he released a small amount on his palm.

The energy that left his palm was semi-transparent, with a tint of purple color.

Taking out one of his black obsidian swords from his pouch, Kyran let the semi-transparent energy sweep over it. Information about the obsidian sword's composition flashed in his mind.

Kyran's eyes widened and soon a smile broke out from his lips.

'Cool,' he thought.

Kyran took a deep breath and returned the sword to his pouch. He did not want to expand his magic sense yet. Instead, he wanted to test the idea that appeared on his mind after Zephyr told him what the ancient record had said about his magic.

He looked at the energies gathered inside the array, and raised his hand. He summoned one purple ring and it hovered before his opened palm. Then he started to absorb the surrounding energies into his purple ring.

Kyran had no way of seeing how the energies reacted when it passed through his magic, but with the array's effect, he was now able to see that the surrounding energies simply avoided the purple ring.

'But if I willed my magic to absorb the energies?' Kyran wondered and as he thought it, he also willed the purple ring to attract the surrounding energies.

As soon as he thought it, the purple ring moved and even appeared to pulsate. The surrounding energies were immediately attracted to the pulsating purple ring and entered it with no resistance. When the energies entered the purple ring, the purple ring grew in size.

'Regardless of the nature of the energy that my magic absorbed, it is capable of strengthening my magic,' Kyran thought with a slight smile.

This discovery was actually beneficial for him. Now he did not have to replenish his magic energy all the time before using his magic. As long as he was able to absorb the surrounding energies, he could use them to strengthen his magic.

While Kyran was absorbed in testing out his idea inside the array, the others outside, Anette and Cyneah who were sitting on the chairs, while Nolan and Zephyr stood leaning on the rail, were silently watching him.

Anette was not that surprised at how Kyran could absorb any type of energy in the surroundings. What she was surprised about was how fast he was able to grasp the idea of magic sense. Well, Cyneah also managed to do it the first time, but compared to her, Kyran had just started to understand his magic. It made her wonder what Zephyr had said before Kyran asked Nolan to fix the array. Of course, Anette was also aware that the two had talked telepathically.

On the other hand, Cyneah relied on her innate ability to see lights and energies to somehow understand what Kyran was doing. Honestly, it took a great deal of her concentration to follow. Because she could not see Kyran's light, she only relied on the energies that she could see around him. She was actually amazed to see so many colored energies circling inside the array. However, what got her attention the most was the purple ring that appeared in the middle of the array. It was the same shade of purple she once saw from the array Kyran once made in the cave. She really found the color pretty.

Nolan took a deep breath as he watched Kyran experiment on his magic. He had a feeling that the kid had completely forgotten that they were there and could see everything that he was doing. Not that Kyran was doing anything that they could use to tease him in the future. Anyway, Nolan was simply amazed at Kyran's concentration. It reminded him of Cade. No, to be honest, his level of concentration was higher than Cade. At least Cade would not be able to shut others off the moment he started practising.

'We may not necessarily have to stay for a week in that place with the kid's level of concentration. If he is able to pass each level in a matter of hours, maybe he can finish it in five days,' Nolan thought thinking about the place where he planned to take Kyran for training.

A smile tugged at the corner of Nolan's lips.

'Well, for him to understand magic sense is also timely. In the next few days, as long as he masters it to some extent, it will help him in passing each level better.'

Zephyr was also observing Kyran play around the energies inside the array. Just like the others, he was amazed at the speed at which he was able to adapt his magic. His amazement was actually more compared with Nolan and Anette because he had just told Kyran a little about what was written in the ancient record about his magic and yet he was able to grasp it well.

Of course, none of them knew that Kyran's innate ability did not lie in his body's abnormal absorption of medicinal effect or even healing ability. His real innate ability was how adept he was in grasping theories. As long as you provide him with enough information for him to create his own theory, he could grasp it on his own and find the answer himself.

For the next half hour, Kyran continued to study his magic. Finally, he decided to release the energies he had been circulating in his central core.

The moment the energies left his central core, Kyran felt something different. The energies that left him did not have any purple tint on them. Meaning they did not become 'void energies.'

'But the energies still resonates with the nature of my magic,' Kyran thought with a slight frown.

He reached out his hand and thought of gathering the scattered energies once more to study them when suddenly an idea popped in his mind. The idea came to him while thinking that the energies had somehow become his and remained his even when they were no longer part of him.

Instead of gathering them in his hand, he controlled the converted energies and formed them into something else.

'How about an orb?' Kyran thought.

Soon the energies gathered and formed into an orb. The moment it did, their color finally had a purple shade.

Kyran's eyes widened.

'This! Does this mean I can now form long-range attacks?' He thought feeling a little excited at the idea. 'Let's try to mold them into a weapon.'

Immediately, the orbs turned into countless small knives. However, unlike Kyran's Void Knife, these knives looked semi-transparent.

With a slight frown, Kyran released the knives and crossed his arms.

'It doesn't have enough substance,' he thought.

Before he could contemplate further, he heard Nolan clear his throat from behind.

"Kid, you're supposed to learn magic sense. Don't strain yourself with other magic stuff with your damaged core," he reminded him.

"Ah, right," Kyran replied.

Because of his excitement, he forgot the condition of his magic core. Although, the damaged core was not his Void core, who knew what would happen if to it if he continued to practice?

Kyran released the energies and finally stood up.

"Master," Cyneah suddenly called for Anette.

"What is it?" Anette replied and turned to her.

"Can't I heal Nar's core, now?"

Cyneah's question made Kyran stop in his tracks and look at her.

Nolan and Zephyr also turned their attention to her.

Anette also raised her brows. Before she could answer, Cyneah had asked another question.

"Can't I use my song and heal him?"
