Chapter 140: Cool Your Heads!

Stella's blood ran cold as she heard Lumi's words. She turned to Kyran and immediately said, "Kyran, it's not like-."

"What did you say?" Kyran asked Lumi, completely ignoring Stella.

His tone carried an unmasked rage, and the air around him started to crackle.

Others might wonder about his sudden hostility. But given the situation of the Regis Clan, Kyran's suspicion was expected. Who was this person that claimed to be a Regis Emissary? Kyran was the grandson of the Regis Patriarch and knew everyone who had an important position in the clan. Why had he not met this person before? There was also Lumi's words 'newly appointed', which meant this guy was appointed recently. It might explain why Kyran had not met him, but why was he not in the estate if that was the case? Kyran clearly remembered his grandfather ordered every Regis clan member to return to celebrate his birthday.

To Kyran, this man was suspicious. Though he did not sense any ill-intent from Lumi and even appeared friendly, as long as she knew the man, then she was also suspicious. Those who were friendly were the ones who usually had something to hide.

Silas's eyes narrowed upon seeing Kyran's hostile look. Living as a mercenary honed his senses to be alert to any danger. And this young man who acted indifferent earlier was sending a very dangerous signal right now.

Silas thought Kyran would be ecstatic to meet someone who had met his family. So his sudden change puzzled him.

Seeing the sudden change in Kyran's mood, Lumi raised her brows in confusion, "Did I just say something I shouldn't?"

The rest of the council members, except for Malek, were surprised as well.

When the Lord of the Tower introduced Silas, they thought he was just a simple mercenary. But now that they thought of it would a simple mercenary have a chance to meet the Lord? Hearing that he was the newly appointed Regis Emissary answered their doubts, but... How did he become an emissary, especially at this time?

Malek, on the other hand, remained expressionless. However, his eyes were on Kyran. If he made any movement that would harm the Lord, Malek would not hesitate to attack.

Stella placed a hand on Kyran's arm.

"Kyran, let me explain."

Kyran looked at her, his dark gray eyes pierced through her as he said,  "What else are you not telling me?"

Lumi's eyes squinted as she realized something. She saw Stella hesitate before Kyran's glare.

[Don't look away. If you look away, it will make him more suspicious.]

Lumi warned Stella.

Hearing Lumi's voice in her head, Stella did what Lumi said.

[Little Silas.]

Lumi placed her hand on Silas's head.

'Hm?'

[Brace yourself.]

Before Silas could react, magic fluctuations erupted in the whole room, and a light blue sphere appeared and engulfed Silas, Lumi, Stella, and Kyran.

"Milord!" Malek exclaimed as he rushed forward and got engulfed by the sphere as well.

"Lord of the Tower! Head Master!"

Noir, Vaness, Sigma, and Emery shouted and also rushed toward the sphere. However, the sphere shrunk in an instant leaving the area where the five were empty.

Inside the light blue sphere, the instant Kyran saw the sphere closing in on them, his eyes narrowed and rushed toward Silas. A Void Knife slowly formed on his left hand, and he threw it at Silas.

Lumi, who was at the center of the sphere, was shocked at Kyran's attack. It was the same with Stella.

"Kyran, wait!"

"Stop!"

Silas, who had his attention on Kyran, reacted the moment he rushed at him. He took a step back and drew his sword as a half-meter-wide light blue magic array appeared vertically in front of him. He swung his sword toward the magic array, and a few 12-inches long with five inches depth ice shards shot out to counter Kyran's knife.

"Hold it! I am not your enemy!"

The Void Knife and one ice shard collided, and Silas's blood ran cold as he watched his attack disintegrate before his eyes while the knife still made its way to him.

Kyran spread his arms as two Void Swords appeared on his hands, and he easily destroyed the rest of the ice shards that came at him.

"Ugh! I. SAID. STOP!"

The moment Lumi said stop, a mini avalanche rained down on Silas's and Kyran's heads.

"What in the-?"

"Eh?"

Both Kyran and Silas's eyes grew wide as the snow instantly buried them.

"COOL YOUR HEADS!" Lumi added and crossed her chubby arms across her chest. "Humph!"

Lumi then turned to Stella, who was looking at the two small snow mountains in front while blinking her eyes stupidly.

Even Malek, who was running to them, could not help but sweat at what he saw.

"Seriously! This happens because you kept things from him!" Lumi berated and pointed accusingly at Stella.

Small puffs of smoke appeared on Lumi's head as she fumed in anger.

"I... Yes, you're right. It's my fault," Stella admitted.

"Milord," Malek went over to her side. "It is not your fault."

"Oh, shut it. It's both your fault," Lumi reprimanded the two.

Knowing the nature of Spirits, Malek decided to

At this moment, Kyran and Silas finally emerged at the top of the small snow mountain, spitting out a mouthful of snow.

"L-Lady Lumi! Are you trying to kill me?" Silas complained.

"Such a wuss. Look at the Void Master, he is not even complaining!" Lumi glared at Silas.

She flew toward Kyran, who seemed a little dazed at what happened.

[Void Master, calm down for a moment and listen to what we have to say.]

Lumi spoke in his mind while touching Kyran's head.

Kyran looked at her. He wanted to glare at her but felt the sincerity in her words, so he ended up not saying anything.

The snow around Kyran and Silas slowly dissolved as the three descended to the ground.

Kyran did not attack Silas anymore, but he remained on guard as Stella and Malek approached them.

"Now, then Time Keeper, it's time you explain everything. And make sure you don't leave out any important details," Lumi told Stella.

For the next half hour, Stella told Kyran about Malek's vision. During her explanation, she would ask Malek and Silas to provide additional information from their end. To show that she did not mean to hide anything from him, Stella admitted that Nolan's absence was because she asked him to escort Silas's friend.

Kyran was silent during Stella's explanation. Even if he thought of questions, he did not interrupt and just listened.

A long pause followed after Stella finished her explanation.

The four looked at Kyran, waiting for him to speak.

Finally, Kyran looked at Lumi and asked, "Where is this place?"

Silas almost fell off standing.

"You... that's the first thing you say after such a great reveal?" He asked incredulously.

Kyran ignored him and kept his attention on Lumi.

On the other hand, Lumi understood why he did not comment on what he had just learned.

'Well~ he and the last Void Master has differences, but this is very much like the Void Master the elders had spoken of,' she thought with a smile.

"This is my domain. Although it cannot compare to your Void Wo - oopsie," Lumi paused and stuck out her tongue while playfully hitting her head with her knuckles in a cute way.

Silas's expression turned dark at her childish antics.

She looked cute and all, but she was at least a few hundred years old! What was she thinking?

"Anyway~ It's small now because this is the most this stupid-looking man can provide. But during my peak, I can create a larger... one."

Kyran frowned at Lumi's words. It was obvious she tried to avoid using a specific term and instead used 'one'. But he was not stupid. He knew she was supposed to say the same word she stopped speaking, which started with 'wo'.

"Kyran."

Hearing Stella's call, Kyran took a deep breath and finally looked at her.

The truth, he was unsure what to think about all these. Stella had important information about his clan, and she kept it from him. While he, too, had kept things from them, those things were irrelevant to them. It wouldn't affect them even if they knew and would even hurt them if they did. But information about his clan was different.

"I don't care if you have secrets, but don't even keep any information about my clan from me," Kyran told her.

Stella nodded and said, "I'm sorry. I just thought it best to have Nolan and Gage return the item first before telling you. I don't want you to worry."

"I'd rather worry, than not knowing."

"I understand."

Lumi cleared her throat and flew between them.

"Now that everything is clear," she looked at Silas, "Show him the token."

Silas nodded and took out his token. He looked at Kyran and showed it to him before saying, "I am sure you wanted to know how they are, but your mother, Lady Rin, asked me not to tell."

Kyran clenched his fists, but he did not say anything. He only looked at the token in Silas's hand and nodded his head.

The Regis token had special encryption wherein every Regis family could identify it because it resonated with their Regis blood.

"A Regis Emissary, huh."

He looked at Silas and bowed his head, "Sorry for suspecting you."

Silas was taken aback by Kyran's action and immediately shook his head, "No. I kind of understand so, it's alright."

Lumi flew and sat on top of Silas's head and said, "You don't have to apologize to this stupid human, Void Master."

Kyran paused for a moment to sort his thoughts.

After all, he still had something to do. This incident almost made him doubt Stella and the Conclave, but since he gave his word to help them, he would keep it.

With Silas's identity as a Regis Emissary, Kyran could use the other method to go to Noser.

"You've been to Noser?" Kyran asked Silas.

"I have."

"Then, help me get there."

"Well... that's going to be-."

"I would need some materials," Kyran ignored him and looked at Stella and Malek.

Stella smiled and nodded, "Tell us."
