116 Faster than the sound barrier!

Seeing Zero's attack Linri was not disturbed. This was exactly how he started the combat in the club too and it should get countered right... about... now!

Normally this was when the fight was going to restart and after killing(?) some of the students Zero was going to realise that the ones here were honourable so there was no way they could be members of the Renegades. "And who is to say the Renegades won't be created by you?" Linri shouted while reclining on his chair with his feet crossed on top of the empty chair in front of him.

"You insect! How dare you accuse the most loyal soldier of God!" shouted Zero towards Linri. Now, this was dangerous as he seemed to pull the Boss' aggro. However, he did not seem to be disturbed and he was as relaxed as ever.

"Accuse? Isn't that the most logical conclusion? If the Renegades are going to enslave the world like you claim to be that means two things. One, either you are their leader or two, their leader was stronger than you and killed you anyway, meaning you have already failed your task. What do you think is the most logical conclusion? There being someone stronger than the most loyal soldier of God, or you being their leader?" Upon Linri's words, Zero's claymore which was pointing towards him started to tremble. As he expected, with great power comes an even greater arrogance. Since Zero did not think that anyone could be stronger than him, his belief had shaken.

"See! Even you agree! I think if you are as loyal to God as you claim to be you already know what to do, don't you?"

"What?" Zero's body trembled.

"Kill yourself! If you really are the leader of Renegades you will save your soul from being tainted. If you are not, your god can send a slightly weaker soldier to complete your task. This is the only way you can achieve your god's wish. Now go on! Stab that sword into your chest and fulfil your God's command!" With each word, Linri became more and more passionate and in the end, he even stood up from his seat before saying those last words. He sounded like a genuine fanatic trying to keep Zero from going down the wrong path. There were even people in the audience that believed his words fully and nodding their heads unconsciously. At this instance, Linri was like the Devil tempting an angel to fall from grace.

"Yes! I must grant my God's wishes" Zero shouted and turned his claymore towards his own heart. He stabbed it with all his strength before stopping at the last second. He had finally caught onto his scheme and was shaking even more than before. Linri was not sure if it was because Zero was furious or because he was afraid but he was certain of one thing. He was able to get into his head!

"YOU!!! You must be the one my God had prophesied about. YOU! MUST! DIE!"

"Well, that blew on my head now, didn't it?" Linri talked towards the air.

"No need to get discouraged. I think that was a very good attempt. There weren't any loopholes in your logic" answered back a melodious voice while Linri was sitting down like he owned the place.

"Of course it would fail! There was no way that a cowardice way like that would succeed!" a cold and harsh voice chimed in.

They were obviously Lozna and Solas, the Togk Gods of Moon and Sun. One of the first things Linri did before starting to speak was open the communication channel between them. This was his fail-safe. Before leaving for Hanawa Linri had asked them what would happen if they were to lend him all their power and incarnate in his body. The answer was his life span would reduce to only a single day and even that was a big if. Still, that was all he needed. Even if it would be premature, he could still go to Lyra for the bloodline awakening ritual and if he was lucky she could succeed in that period. I mean in his background she hadn't even taken a single day to devise the ritual so even if she might be a little short on time she still had a chance and Linri was ready to bet on that.

After the months they spent together Linri had already accepted her as his own mother so he was ready to hand over his life to her. The only reason he wanted to wait until the last second was his inner cowardice.
