Chapter 72 - Phoenix Trials, or A Deal?

(A/N: Someone asked for Wang Lei's current character design or how he looks like, right now. So here it is…)

***

"Is this the place?" Wang Lei said as he stood in front of a village filled with vibrant colors of nature.

Quite an unnatural sight as this village stood in Ten Thousand Beast Mountain Range, filled with the ferocious beast.

So the sight of a village in a place that was filled with bloodthirst monsters was quite surreal.

It has been a day since Wang Lei received his new mission.

After seeing the mission, he knew that the mission was related to God Realm as there was no such thing as Two Goddesses at Blue Pole Star, since if there were, he would have known it.

He was also surprised by the Time Limit as he never had one during previous missions. Mean, if he did not complete the mission in the given time, then something will probably happen to these Goddesses.

Since Wang Lei still had some stuff to do on Blue Pole Star, so he changed the time dilation of the real world and <My World>.

Looking at the village, Wang Lei started to walk inside it. People were curiously looking towards him, but none tried to stop him.

Even if the village was in a remote place, away from civilization, it did not mean that they were not aware of outside matters.

In fact, there was a branch of Guild build here that provided it with different knowledge of the outside world and also acted as a bridge to send the village resident to the outside world – outside of Ten Thousand Beast Mountain Range – safely.

So, of course, they are aware that the person in front of them is infamous Guild Leader, Jian Wang Lei. How did they know? Well, his features are just that distinct from other peoples.

For example, he has two horns, though short but still visible, and long silver hair. His red silt eyes, and peculiar black robes, all of this gave his identity right away.

{Insert Picture Right Here.}

It is normal now in Profound Continent that if you find someone with the above features and he looks nothing more than a handsome mortal – you should pay your respect.

As Wang Lei was walking and enjoying the village sight, a woman in her early twenties, with ample ċhėst and buŧŧȯċks, approached in front of him and bowed.

"Welcome, to the Ten Thousand Beast Mountain Range Guild Branch, Wang Lei-sama. I am ȧssigned leader to this branch, Chynna." Chynna said as she did a graceful bow.

Wang Lei looked at her, nodding, he smiled, "I am here to check the Phoenix Grounds; can you take me there, Little Chynna?"

Hearing him calling, Chynna had a little blush on her face – nodding she led him to Phoenix Grounds.

With an amused smile, Wang Lei followed after Chynna, who seems to take pride in leading him.

Of course, he knew the position of Phoenix Grounds, but since she volunteered to be his guide, Wang Lei thought of following after her.

Wang Lei kept following her as he looked at his surroundings, interestingly. He doesn't really leave to check these villages or places to see in Profound Continent if he has nothing to do there.

If some come in his path, then he will check it, but if none came, then he will also not go – deliberately – to check them.

Soon, Chynna leads him to a big mountain. Many profound formations were shining on it. A dense fire elemental energy was being released from it.

Reaching here, Chynna bowed, "This is the Phoenix Grounds, Wang Lei-sama. To open it, one needs the blood drop of Phoenix Bloodline."

"No need for that," He said as he pats Chynna's head, "Thanks for leading me here, little Chynna. Is there is anything that you require, then do not shy and let me know through 'System'."

Chynna was dumbfounded, but before she could react, Wang Lei was already gone.

A smile and a blush appear on her face as Chynna touches her head, "He touched me…"

If only Wang Lei knew that he has a fan club all over the Profound Continent with most of the members being Guild Staff.

He was already being treated as a God on Profound Continent.

Wang Lei crossed the spatial fabrics and appeared inside a cave, where Residual Soul of Phoenix resides. There was nothing special inside – just a cave, and nothing more.

A moment later, a pair of mysterious eyes suddenly opened in the pitch-black space overhead. These two eyes were huge, yet long and narrow, and gold in color.

These pairs of eyes interestingly checked Wang Lei as if a piece of art.

Even though there was no face to tell its expression, but her eyes alone showed that she was intrigued.

"Extraordinary, truly extraordinary! To think that a bloodline, more prestige, and honorable than Azure Dragon, exists in this world!" A noble voice of a woman came from the empty space.

Wang Lei could see the astonishment in those eyes that gazed on him.

Smiling, Wang Lei said, "There are many things in this world that are unknown to even Gods; it is not unnatural to find someone like me."

The eyes narrowed on Wang Lei's answer and said, "Indeed. There are many things out there that are out of reach for even Gods like us, but… tell me, Little Dragon, who are you? I have never seen a bloodline like yours. If it ever existed, then we Gods should have seen it."

"Can it not exists after the end of the era of Gods and Devils?" Wang Lei asked, amused.

"Impossible!" A golden glint shone in the eyes, "Such bloodline, that is above the Azure Dragon God cannot exist after the era of Gods and Devils. Are you saying that such bloodline appeared in humans, or mortals that are ants to Gods and Devils!" Her noble voice boomed in the cave, slightly shaking it.

Wang Lei smiled, "Grand Dao is unpredictable. You never know, what will it birth."

Hearing it, Phoenix became silent. A minute later, she said, "Are you here for the trails?"

Doing a little bow, enough to show her respect, Wang Lei said, "I am Jian Wang Lei. You can call me Wang Lei, Lei'er, or Young Noble, whichever you prefer, and, of course, I am here for the trail but also for a deal."

"A deal?" Confused, she asked.

Looking at those golden eyes, Wang Lei said, smirking, "Yes, a deal!"
