TELUNA

"What we are is an abomination Teluna, we're not supposed to exist. People may call us half dragons, but that's not an accurate term, we're containers, channels that brings forth the power of fallen dragons. We're Avatars. Now while that term is used a lot to describe a host of different skills and different situations, we; in conjunction to that word, are the human representation of the souls of dead dragons. That is to say, we're a dead dragon's second chance at life, a reincarnation of sorts."

Teluna sat down cross legged, listening to his mother with rapt attention. How could he not, this was one of the few moments that he had to spend time with her. Being a general right beside Asare means she's very busy, she's also responsible for teaching magic at the academy (that still hasn't been named). But Teluna didn't care, because right now all he wanted to be was a Mama's boy.

"When dragons die, much like every other living thing, their souls and spirits fuse into one being. They become pure energy, and it's up to them to join other fallen dragons in a place called the Isle of Long or fade away into energy, becoming a part of the ether or some other source of energy or power. The isle is a spiritual plane where dead dragons live and commune with living dragons, giving advice to their descendants and influencing the world of the living by connecting to the minds of their descendants. They would leave messages through dreams, and visions, providing guidance or in some cases mischief to their chosen.

Then one day almost six thousand years ago, a mad scientist, a broken hearted alchemist, and an overly curious necromancer created a new species. Forged from the flesh of fallen dragons, it created a connection to this spirit land where dead dragons resided, and gave them the chance to live again, by incubating inside of this new species. When they're first born, this new species are life less. They have a soul, a spirit, and a body, but there's no spark to get all this things going, what they do have however, is a gateway to the Isle of Long, open within their minds, and it's through that gateway a dragon would come through and live Inside of that person, providing the spark they need to live. They share the same body, but are two different sets of spirit and souls. Today, I'm going to teach you how to feel your dragons presence. It's the first step into becoming what we are."

"And what are we mother?" Teluna couldn't help but ask.

Kuyait turned her gaze to her son and smiled at him, before saying in a serious voice.

"Teluna.....we're Weredragons."

NEXUS BAR

GUS

The shadows clung to his body like a clothe, it made him imperceptible to the naked eye, not unless a person took a closer look at how the shadows seemed to be flickering, like a cloak being blown on a windy morning. Gus didn't dare take a breath, with how focused he was right now, any wrong move would break the enchantment.

He didn't really understand why enchantment was a prerequisite to become a master spy, or why he had to learn to use them on himself and random objects, but much like every other thing he has had to learn, he paid all of his attention to it. Sweat slid from the top of his brow, down the bridge of his nose, and down to the floor in a soft splatter, joining the rapidly expanding pool of sweat already on the ground. The dagger in his hand felt slick, and if he was not careful he would loose his grip on it.

This was a test, and a very important one seeing as he had to carry it out in the bar, and with people watching. This...…..was an assassination and no matter what, he could not afford to fail, not if he wanted to continue being Bob's student. There was a chime as the main doors swung open, his target had walked in. He was small, and he dressed in such a way that would make people forget about him the moment the placed their eyes on him. His shaggy brown hair was unruly, and that was all the proof anyone needed that this middle aged looking guy was a werewolf. But of course he looked a lot smaller than most werewolves for some reason.

But his routine was predictable, he kept to the wall, leaving half his body within the shadows as he moved around the bar, canvassing the area. The part of his body within shadows slowly transformed as a canine ear came into being. This was the reason why he was a target, the guy was a master of secrets just like Teluna was training to be, a spy. And a very important policy of the Nexus states that the shadow crafts are not to be practiced or used in the Nexus by none personnel. That's why the Nexus was so popular, because secrets stay safe within it. This guy was threatening everything the Nexus stood for. And he had to be stopped.

If you needed secrets you went straight to Bob and traded for it. It doesn't matter what, or how, but every secret was valuable, and the Nexus bar loved the fact that it had a monopoly over it. This werewolf was good, very good, and usually he would go around the entire bar twice, though he made sure to stay away from where Bob was serving to avoid exposure. And due to how big the bar was, and how slow he had to move to avoid being seen, and process the information he's receiving, this guy would probably be here for another two to three hours.

But Gus has been waiting an entre hour for him, and the enchantment on his clothes that made him blend in with the shadows was almost out of juice. Gus was not a bottomless pit of energy like Kael. So he waited, and held his breath longer, watching slowly as he drew closer to his location. Every step he took, made Gus's blood pump faster, because he was anxious about failing, and the werewolf just made him uncomfortable on another level. This guy was shifty, and a master of secrets, someone who already is what Gus is l trying to become. There was a lot of pressure.

And then he got closer, and closer, until he was walking past Gus, in fact he could feel his hidden werewolf ear brush a stray lock of Gus's hair. He could kill him using just his mental energy, but his orders were to use a dagger and make sure his death was as bloody as possible. This should serve as a warning.

Gus's hand flashed, and the dagger held in it glinted through the shadows for a moment. Shit! That's a huge mistake, the light from the dagger warned him about the incoming danger, and he was pulling away from the edge of the bar, away from the wall Gus was hidden. He had no choice but to use his telepathy to freeze him in place for a moment, and then Gus moved so fast that even he wasn't so sure about what he was doing. And then he stepped back, and took a deep breath, letting the shadows wrap around himself as he stood still and kept watch.

It was stupid to make a move after you've completed a kill, it's better to wait out the ensuing excitement, because it's just after a kill that security would be at it's highest, and everyone would be looking for something suspicious. Unless you were already a master of the shadow arts, and confident enough in escaping under everyone's noses, you had better keep your ass on the spot.

The werewolf fell on top of a table with a loud crash, his throat completely sliced through with only a piece of skin keeping his head attached to his body, and his stomach torn open with his guts spilling out on the floor. Both eyes were wide open, but they were punctured and fluid leaked from them. This was really bloody, but the crowing jewel remains the fact that his tongue and ear were cut off, and stabbed into his forehead with a dagger that had an N emblazoned on it's hilt. This was the way the Nexus gave a warning to people who would come here fishing for secrets and information the wrong way.

Gus watched as others came and took the dead body away, looking on like a silent sentinel of justice and retribution. The message has been sent, a life has been taken, all in all, the mission has been accomplished. Two hours later, a waiter could suddenly be seen mopping up the blood around the area where a werewolf was just brutally murdered. No one thought anything of it, as this was the waiter in charge of serving customers within the Nexus. But they also didn'tnotice that he has been missing for hours, or the fact that he just suddenly appeared by the murder scene, cleaning up the blood. Nobody noticed him...…they never will.
