1 Just The Star

Running, running as fast as he could, dodging the ghouls that wanted to get him, the demons that wanted to take over his mind and his soul. Running through the maze of emotions, seeing the darkness around each corner, the need to get away and be safe.

The maze only got bigger and bigger, the number of exits decreasing, the amount of darkness increasing. The danger of getting lost was a definite probability.

As he ran around the last corner, the darkness enveloped him, embracing him in the darkness. He turned to try and run back, but there was only darkness; surrounding him, making his body shiver from the chill of the cold of the creatures around him.

As he went to scream, his voice disappeared to silence. With no sound to call for help, he was stuck, he had nowhere to run and no way to get help.

Out of nowhere, he saw a figure appear, he squinted his eyes as he tried to make out who or what the figure was. His heart started to thump in his chest, his palms getting sweaty as he started to hyperventilate.

It was his father.

The person he feared the most in this world, his breathing ceased as he stared at the male in front of him. He started to back away as he saw his father walking towards him, however, his back hit something and he couldn't go back any further. He gulped as his father was now right in front of him, tears started flooding out of his eyes as his body shook in utter fear.

"Why are you crying? Scared of me huh? Well, looks like I'll have to show you why you're scared." His father uttered out in an eery tone. He lifted his hand up, his hands straight as he was ready to hit his son.

However, before that happened he found his voice, letting out a scream as his father backed away and disappeared. His eyes opened only to see he was in the comfort of his own bedroom, he felt the sweat falling from his forehead as he gulped again.

He spent the next half an hour sorting out his breathing. He let out a sigh, shaking his head as the nightmares had taken over his dreamland ever since his father did what he did.

When Jungkook turned 2, his father started to beat on him, leaving bruises and cuts. However, that only got worse as he grew older and matured. When Jungkook was 13, his father beat him almost to death, leaving him in the house to die, only, his mother got home in time to get him the help he needed. He spent 2 weeks in hospital, getting treatment before he was finally strong enough to go home.

When he got home, he finally found out his father was jailed for multiple crimes he committed in Seoul. He had 5 life sentences, so that meant that he wasn't getting out until he was 175. Jungkook was relieved, however, he had learned that violence was a normal thing, however much people told him that violence was wrong, he was brought up in a violent setting and he became a sadist.

As he liked the thought of inflicting pain to others, including degrading, pain, humiliation. He was taken to a doctor, only to be given pills for bipolar and depression. However, that didn't stop Jungkooks fantasies.

Jungkook was a University student, who studied photography and wanted to become a photographer. He liked to take pictures that held a meaning and told a story. However, he liked to take dark pictures, things that could include blood, abuse, harm and pain. But, held a story and meaning along the way. He didn't want to be taking pictures of idols or models, he wanted to show people that life isn't all fun and happiness, however, there is a dark part to life that is normally kept secret and in the dark, hiding away.

After a while of getting used to life, he was told that his mother had got married, however it was in secret. Jungkook had no clue they were moving until the day it happened. He was made to pack up everything he needed and wanted to bring with him. He was annoyed that he had never met his new step father, however, he knew that life would be hard living with another father figure. He had never been close to his mother, due to the fact she let her ex husband hurt him.

He knew he could never change the past, but the future was something he could control. Jungkook was willing to try and get along with the new step father, but was worried that he would have a sibling. He was used to being an only child, so having a sibling would be different for sure.

As they made the trip halfway across Korea, going from Seoul to Busan, they made it to the house that would be their new home. Jungkook held his camera case as the car was packed with their belongings. He turned to his mother and shook his head, "Why are we here? Why aren't we in Seoul? I had everything set up for my future... And now I have to go to a new university, meet new people... This is bullshit mother." He said, not caring that he cursed in front of his mother.

"Jungkook... Bunny... I'm sorry this is all new, but it will be good for you, a new start and a change, your new university is better than the one in Seoul, and meeting new people will get you ready for the working world." His mother said, looking at her son with the softest gaze, "Please be nice and polite in front of your step father and your step brother." She said and got out of the car, waiting for Jungkook.

"Step brother?!" Jungkook said in shock, "I haven't even met the man you married, and now I have to meet a new sibling?!" He said and stayed seated in the car. He shook his head as he was now pissed off, he didn't takw his pills this morning due to all the moving. "Jungkook, bunny, take your pills, and then come inside once you're ready, I'll go and say hello to my husband and step son." She said, making Jungkook role his eyes, but he nodded.

He watched his mother walk inside the house, leaving it open for when Jungkook wanted to go inside. He reached into his bag as he grabbed his pills, getting the water also as he took his pill.

He had to wait 20 minutes for the pills to take effect to his bipolar and sadistic state. He knew his mother would want him to not scare her new family away. Jungkook finally got out of the car, holding his backpack on his back and his camera case to the side of him. He shut the door of the car, and cautiously stepped up to the large house, before he took a step inside. Immediately greater by the warm and neutral colours of the house. He looked to the side seeing his mother hugging her new husband, and then to the side of them he saw a small male, who must've been his new sibling. He looked older than Jungkook, so Jungkook knew he would be made to use honorifics. He sighed and shut the front door behind him.

His mother pulled away from her new husband, smiling widely, something Jungkook hadn't seen in a while. "Jiyong, Yoongi, this is my son Jungkook. Jungkook, this is my husband Jiyong and his son Yoongi." His mother said, and Jungkook just nodded, not really taking an notice of what his mother said. He didn't want to be here, and it annoyed him that he had to change his future because his mother wanted to do whatever she wanted.

"Yoongi, go show Jungkook to your room, as we don't have another bedroom, you two will have to share." His new step father said. That was the icing on top of an awful cake for Jungkook, he had to go from his own bedroom to now sharing one? He shook his head and turned to his mother, "Really mother? Sharing a bedroom? You have got to be kidding me, I'm 18 now, not 7." He uttered out, causing his mother to shake her head. "Jungkook, bunny, appreciate what you have and don't be rude. It will be good to be close to someone." She said, and Jungkook sighed. He turned towards his new step brother. "Show me the way shortie." He said, teasing the male about his height already, this was him calm and taking his pills, he got worse, way worse, if he didn't take his pills. He tapped his foot as he waited for the male to get up and move, because Jungkook just wanted to unpack his stuff and explore the shitty town he was now stuck in.
