{Yuna Burgert’s perspective.]

After breakfast, I had nothing to do, so I went to the bookcase to find something I was interested in to pass the time.

‘What I did not expect was that Andrew had nothing to do, either. He was sitting on the sofa flipping through his computer, not paying attention, occasionally looking out the window and flipping through his books. Was it really like he said, that he was staying with me at Alex Manor?

I tried to concentrate on the book at hand, but it did not work.

‘Well, Ihave to admit, my mind was not on the book. I was going to wait for Andrew to go out on some errands, walk around Alex Manor alone, and find something to use to escape.

Yesterday’s agreement with Andrew was a stopgap measure, and I could not really stay at Alex Manor forever! However, if Andrew stayed here too, then I would not be able to do anything.

While I was fretting, Andrew walked to my side and took the book in my hand. “You haven’t turned the page for a long time. Don’t you want to stay here?”

I could not admit or deny it. I reached out to take back my book. “Give it back to me.”

“This is my book,” he quipped.

I did not want to talk to him.

“Alright, if you’re bored, how about I go out with you?”

T looked at him, wanting to know if he was telling the truth. He pulled me up and pushed me into the closet in the bedroom. “Go change. I’ll go shopping with you.”

Tran my finger across a row of dresses in the closet that Andrew had bought for me. I rarely wore skirts before, which might be a little strange for a girl. But I remember I loved skirts when I was a child, and as I grew older, they were often more troublesome and humiliating.

Over time, I did not like them that much. I chose a simple black dress. It had a one-collar, bubble sleeves, and a black ribbon around the waist. The hem was an irregular piece of art, and it did not have as many patterns and laces as the one from yesterday.

Talso brought a little extra thought. I guessed that Andrew would not like this one.

Sure enough, as soon as I came out, I saw Andrew frown and comment, “The pink one from yesterday looks better.”

“like this one,” I said deliberately.

“A woman’s clothes should please a man.”

“A woman should please herself.”

He was a little surprised as he said, “That’s true, but you’re my fiancée, and I like it when you please me.”

My heart stopped for a moment, and Andrew said he liked me.

Perhaps because of my three *sshole brothers, I had never liked any man. Even to me, fancy clothes and decorations only attracted abuse and beatings.

Iwas not as obsessed with dressing up as other girls. However, at the moment, I had the urge to try out new clothes to please him. The idea took me by surprise.

Andrew took me to a busy shopping street.

‘We wandered around without buying anything.

It was almost noon and he asked me what I wanted to eat. I pointed to a random restaurant. Maybe it was because it was too hot, and this one was the closest to me. Maybe it was because his colorful decorations were too eye-catching. In short, this restaurant was terrible.

We ordered a few random dishes, all with strange names. One dish was sweet and sour chicken. It was just chicken with sweet-and-sour sauce.

I poked at the bottom of the plate with my fork, bored. I missed the food from last night. Why in God’s name did I go shopping with him?

Of course, Andrew paid. We went to another ice cream shop.

This ice cream shop, which was said to be hundreds of years old, had a long history. There were only two flavors, vanilla and chocolate. You can choose between a burrito or an ice cream cone.

Andrew and I argued for a long time about the taste and the combination of ice cream. In the end, no one would compromise. I ordered a burrito with chocolate ice cream. He ordered milk with an ice cream cone. He berated me for making my ice cream look like shit, and I said he looked like a baby…
