187 The Two Of Them 1

Name:Immoral System Author:FallenBlue
At the end of their conversation, the woman told her not to worry about that man since he would surely be fine. But Alessa couldn't stop thinking about his condition and the woman must have picked that up therefore she gave her a clue to where he could possibly be right now.

The call ended with her staring blankly at her phone. Her mind went back to when Sofony tried to tell her jokes about him being with her around midnight.

Alessa couldn't tell if the woman was merely bluffing or not. However, she suspected that it was the latter given this woman's very competent brokers.

'Makes sense, she's most likely aware of what truly transpired. No. She's definitely aware.'

'...and I'm so feeling angry that she's aware. Because it means she's that competent. Or Chris told her which means she's that trusted by him.'

Either of the two possibilities she arrived at was not welcomed by the actress.

However, she had to shake them off her head since it was not the time for confusion or jealousy.

After a quick shower and putting on a light brown long cashmere coat over her black dress, she had Diaz investigate more about the people who attacked her last night while Aura drove her to Western Alina.

To be honest, her body was screaming at her to have some sleep, but her heart and conscience were not letting her take her rest without verifying that he was really okay.

This must be just how it was when someone had fallen in love. Stupidly putting somebody else first before the well-being of oneself. Without Alessa knowing, it seemed her love for the man was only one less level inferior to the kind of devotion Sofia had for her Original...

...

So how did Sofony know Chris' location when his information was supposed to be masked?

The man actually had a slip up since he didn't forget to make his AI erase his tracks from the surveillance cameras along the way. This had been his habit for the last three years in order to not get caught in anything troublesome at days when he ended up over speeding. However, without his knowledge, his habit became a way for Sofony to trace his location whenever she had an errand that she wants him to do for her.

His information was indeed off-limits. But so what? Sofony could just spend 200 plus points to have her AI search for recently deleted tracks and footage all over the city and narrow them down to the nearest where he was last seen, according to his paparazzi fans.

This was how she managed to relay his current whereabouts to Alessa.

Past 10 am. Western Alina. In a seaside park where endless sparkling blue water could be seen blanketing the left side of the world.

Since there was really no proper parking lot in that open park, the two ladies settled at a relatively large but deserted spot near a nymph statue. Alessa had the car window to her side down, her eyes falling onto another sleek black vehicle parked under a tree. It was on the left side so the natural blue background stood out so much that, coupled with the sun shining so brightly from above the lake, the glimmer was just as bright that it was blinding her.

"Second Miss. I thought this guy checked in a hotel here. Why is he just inside? Is the brain of intellectuals just so different from normal people? But it seems at least this man is alright. He doesn't seem to be poisoned anymore to me," exclaimed Aura to her as they watched the same scene from their seats.

Outside, they saw an old grandma knocking on the window to the driver's seat. The old woman looked weary and homeless, with some dirt scattered all over her face. Her clothing seemed to not have been washed for a year already. She looked just so pitiful. Alessa couldn't stop wondering why her family was not taking care of her, or if she even has a family member to take care of her.

Aura learned that Chris was inside the car since when the window lowered, his head popped out, a timid but warm smile was on his face when he handed out a few bills and some food to the old woman. They stared with some amazement crossing their eyes as the old lady bowed and said a few words with him. He responded without the least bit of impatience. And he didn't seem to be acting. This continued until the homeless lady left, heading towards the group of equally homeless children near the swings.

A few minutes passed after Alessa saw the man withdraw his head back. She stared at the closed window for a while before concluding that he must not be planning to get out there anytime soon.

The woman pushed the door opened and then crossed the short distance between her and him.

It didn't take long for her to come back though. When Aura asked what happened, she simply shook her head with a slight smile and told the assistant to not worry anymore and drive home.

Alessa was grateful that the other did not ask further more questions. As for her, she reminisced everything she witnessed on this short trip.

She had seen quite few new faces of the man she was in love with. But what really stuck to her mind was not the warm smile which he gave that homeless grandma, but the harmless and innocent one he was sporting as he slept wrapped up in a thick blanket, his head leaning sideways against the headrest. She saw it all through the small opening a mischievous AI had purposely left without informing him when it noticed the woman's presence nearby.

The actress could already guess that he must be intending to not do any work today as well. The reason for suddenly driving to this fairly populated place instead of his own home was a puzzle for her. However, it was easy to see that he just wanted some sleep today. Even the seemingly all-rounder and powerful him could be exhausted, falling unconscious under a peaceful and picturesque outside world.

Even he could be humane and be like a real human. She made this claim since these past few years, the man worked so efficiently and perfectly that sometimes he just felt so distant to his peers.

Shaking her head, she smiled to the beautiful scenery passing like a fast-paced slideshow.

'I'm going insane already.'

Seconds later, she finally realized why he chose not to go home. The thought caused a small laugh to escape out of her lips.

'Jeez, he's afraid I'll be barging into his penthouse again if he's there.'

'What a bully...'
