Chapter 16: Cringe

[A few days later after Michu got his territory!]

Looking at the photo of her brother and soldiers around him, Nana smiled and whispered, "Big brother looks like he has a lot of fun. I am glad." As per fate's decision, Michu's family was left alone with each other.

Not liked by many, Michu had more contact with older people that had been supporting their family as much as they could rather than his peers.

Even though it was a game and NPCs, Nana was all smiles when she saw her brother around so many people.

All smiles, those soldiers enjoyed banana together with him! "Of course he would send me such a photo!" Nana chuckled, then her eyes narrowed, a faint vicious glimmer flashed in those!

"Venomous!" She could see the white-haired woman and her eyes felt indeed eerie. It wasn't the first time Nana saw her as this photo had been something she frequently looked over. Before such a woman, her looks didn't matter as her presence alarmed all instincts!

Nana's heart was still filled with rage as she heard what this woman did to her brother.

She used the trust Nana had built within Michu! It went without saying that Nana's help was a great help in Michu's life and he would even listen to her rather than his mother.

But since mother was too often at work, it was just obvious that someone had to be the lady of the house!

However, Venomous unknowingly found this flaw and used it.

The results were good, though. The photo on the screen was the proof of it, but Nana still had her heart pounding with rage.

Thus, she typed on the keyboard, "I hope you haven't eaten the wrong banana!"

Enter!

-

[You have gotten a new message.]

"Again this lass," Venomous shook her head after her eyes spotted Nana's name. She knew what would be in the message as it became Nana's daily routine to vent her anger on Venomous.

At this point, 'the wrong banana' lost its meaning. The kick on the soldier's chin also left a deep scar in other soldiers' hearts, so no one used this term again.

Returning from the beginner city, Venomous entered Michu's territory and headed toward the small hut in the middle of it.

On her minimap, she could see Michu and a few NPCs around him.

This gathering could only mean one thing, "All of them are eating bananas again…" These words became the reality as soon as Venomous arrived.

Squatted like Slavs, the soldiers and Michu in the middle were eating the bananas after their hard work.

Of course, the hard work was mostly split into three categories.

[The territory's protection - Kill the surrounding monsters!]

[The woodman's job - gather wood for the small hut!]

[The builder's job - build the hut!]

"Welcome back, Yumi!" Michu shouted while waving the banana! Then, with the perfect accuracy, he hurled it up toward Venomous whose eye had been twitching from this close and a rather affectionate call.

"I am back." She extended her hand, grasped the banana, then ate it while doing her utmost best to stop her eye from going out of control.

After throwing the skin into her inventory, Yumi exclaimed, "This hut looks stable… Is it not going to self-destruct anytime soon?" She kicked the hut lightly, then looked at the soldier named Carlos.

In the past, he had a different job than a soldier, but the war arrived and changed his fate. He no longer could return, but gladly used his skills for survival! Now, those belong to Michu who enjoyed the small hut during his rest!

"I haven't forgotten anything and I am confident in its structure! Fear not, Missy!" Carlos flashed his white teeth and he sounded convincing, so Venomous just entered the hut after nodding to him.

Other soldiers' eyes flashed with a mischievous glint, "Michu, we will leave you alone!" They bumped their elbows into monkey god, then urged him to follow the lady. Soon enough, the soldiers picked up the scattered banana's skins and went to look out for any potential threats.

Venomous' orders were simple, "Don't let any player know that we own this territory. If you see an NPC or monster, then neutralize. The former with words, the latter with weapons."

The common quest given by Lord Fabian was to take care of the monsters around Mountain Cliff City.

Because of players' descent into this world, the world changed and many challenges had risen from the roots. The first challenge was to get rid of respawn curse, but how could it even be possible?

Many players found it cute how NPCs wanted to get rid of that curse and bring freedom to their lands, but it was an inherent part of any game!

"Did you get new skills?" Michu smiled broadly after entering the hut. He then asked about skills that Venomous should've already received.

[Venomous: Lv. 15]

[Michu: Lv. 13]

It depended on the class, but players usually had from four to seven skills for each class. In the beginning, one would use one, then slowly get more abilities through quests from martial artists.

But each player was different and Venomous already got her set.

She had five skills and could begin to level up those while thinking about her subclass!

"I got them," She replied while lying sprawled on the bed.

"Oh, good job!" Michu replied, but his initial response told enough to Venomous.

She said, "Do you think I lack something because I didn't get seven skills?"

Michu awkwardly scratched his hair, "I had bet with others and I said you would get the most skills." He smiled widely, "But it looks like it was my bad!"

"More skills doesn't mean the player is better or stronger… I just want all my skills to combine, from the normal class and subclasses. This is my belief, but I believe that this would turn my skills into the deadliest…" Venomous didn't just want to follow the guides set on the net.

She had her path and Michu just laughed out loud as he was kinda similar.

But in his case, Michu had been getting skills from KongKu's spiritual will, the system. He had four skills and just one was the offensive one!

"It's been just a few days, but I am already level 13. I want to get a farmer subclass and finally integrate it with my banana skill. Do you have any plans, Yumi?" Michu swayed on the chair, nearly falling off from it.

But Yumi knew that this territory couldn't progress without proper farming skills. She glanced at the monkey, "Dungeon."

Their equipment was also plain and cheap.

But all of this could be changed with some luck and dungeon clear! The future plans of creating a guild also relied on it highly, "We will join one of the biggest dungeons for our level. I think you need to hit level 15 too…"

"It's fine! Give me one day!" Michu responded affirmatively.

"We will team up with some players. It should broaden our view of this game and help prepare for the future events." Only casual players would take detours from dungeons!

Michu wanted to join the community more and feel the thrill coming from the dungeon mass battles, so he was full of excitement.

Another banana entered his hands, then he chewed on it.

Yumi asked, "Don't you buy too many bananas?" Not only for his personal use but also for the soldiers and even her!

Michu just raised thumbs, "I got a lot of discounts!" He then changed the topic, "Why is your profile on social media blank? We and Nana took a lot of photos!"

"I have seen them. Do you want my honest opinion?" Venomous' eyes rolled and she sent a rather dismissive look.

Michu flinched and probed, "What is it?"

"You should stop doing monkey expressions and throw bananas in every background." After Yumi said it bluntly, Michu laughed out loud.

"Haha! I wanted to take a photo with a flying banana, but it ended up hitting Nana's head!" He laughed and laughed, but it wasn't like Michu had anything else in his house. His sister also was against showing too much of it and they often did some photos with the VR Capsule in the background.

"Your sister… should stop mimicking those celebrities… It looks cringe."

"Cringe?" Michu caressed his chin, "What does that mean?"

"Ask your sister."

-

"Nana, Venomous said you are a cringe."

"Cringe?! Me?! What?! This woman! Just because she is older!" Tap! Tap! Tap! A lot of zealous and fervent keyboard tapping rang out after Michu asked the question.

Alas, he spoke in the wrong way and could just look at his sister smashing the keyboard. She then stood up, stomped on the ground heavily, then left to the bathroom with some relieved expression.

Even if it was just a little, Nana was feeling better.

Michu silently approached the laptop, then looked at the screen, "Why would little sister tell her about swords?" Michu contemplated inwardly, then closed the chat window.

It was rude to read someone else's messages.

He then clicked on the search bar and remembered the wise words from his sister, "Are you lost? Ask uncle GoGoGo straight away… Uhhh… Uncle GoGoGo, what's cringe?"

[You are cringe.]

"..." With his eyes squinted and hand on his chin, Michu kept looking at the message on the screen with a pensive expression, or at least it looked like he was thinking deeply about it.
