Chapter 371 - Tying Loose Ends-II

Seoyeon was carefully treading her way through the empty corridors. There was no one here as most hunters were either in the room with Collin or doing other things which was as pressing as their mission to create a plan on the upcoming fight.

Seoyeon sauntered to the deeper part of the building, following Haneul's direction. The lead stopped until they reached in front one room, the door was made out of pale brown woods that describe its age.

"Inside?" Seoyeon questioned for Haneul to answer with a confirmation. She frowned, knowing this was a trap but then with many hunters, her power, the fact that this person could either be Min Hyuk or Han Anhye, and also considering how the dark witchess, the Queen, won't come here by her own feet, she could only guess that the possibility of the person on the other side of the door attacking or killing her was less.

She pushed open the door with her hands. In the silence, she was only greeted by the small sound of the creaking hinges of the doors that screeched uncomfortably.

She looked around the place finding it was covered with nothing but paintings. After making sure there was no one, Seoyeon walked over to the largest painting as well as the oldest-looking one.

Her eyes fell to the last words written on the lower right corner of the painting, 'Han An-Seul'.

The first hunters' head who grouped the people who hunt vampires and witches alike as Hunters. Seoyeon had seen him before but he was still a baby to see him now on the painting that was done centuries ago and the person had died put her into a sense of nostalgia. It was a similar feeling to watching an old movie and seeing the person again regardless if she doesn't know him well.

"Is it interesting?" came the voice from behind her, questioning her.

Seoyeon's brows were both raised but she set them down again. Turning back, she met the man who had spoken, it was a Chung Gon, the man with the bright brownish red hair. She remembered the man as the same person who had judged Jung Hwa unfairly and put him into the court where he could lose his life to death.

Jung Hwa didn't had a good relationship with the man.

Seoyeon stared at him without saying anything.

"Is there anything on my face?" Chung Gon pushed himself from the wooden box that had been stacked, jumping from the place he had sat on.

"Nothing," answered Seoyeon, "Nothing at all." Chung Gon failed to catch the double meaning of her words.

"What did you come here for, Miss Seoyeon?" Chung Gon shifted the picture that tilted. "I remember you are supposed to be the most sought person."

"Not for a good reason and I am sure you now that as well. Why don't you drop the greeting, Mr. Chung? Who do you come here as for today?" Seoyeon carefully maintain her distance between her and the man.

"I came here for myself, of course. As like other vampires even though I may be only half of it, I prioritize myself." Chung Gon made a declaration. "I know you are searching for someone."

"You do?" Seoyeon put up a smile on her lips and crossed her hands, "Then can you also tell me where that person is?"

"Here," Chung Gon pointed his hand. "Don't you know me, Haneul?"

Seoyeon narrowed her eyes while looking at Chung Gon. Fortunately she had crossed her arm that pacify her uneasiness. "I am not Haneul. She is not here," she answered, gulping, "Who are you?"

"Do you still not remember me? I am...."

"You are not Min Hyuk and neither are you Han Anhye," Seoyeon stated while making more distance as the man took a single step just so she won't put her guard down if an attack was to come toward him. Looking at Chung Gon's startled face, Seoyeon concluded that she was correct. "You are a fool if you think you can fool me. Each person has their own soul and I am able to see them. I remember what color is Min Hyuk and Han Anhye. It would be difficult for you to trick me unless you change your soul."

"R-Really?" Chung Gon appeared startled.

"No," Seoyeon answered, seeing the man blink in response, "There is nothing like a power that could see through a person's soul. The faces of those who knew me in the past had changed differently so it is also impossible to know them by only a glance. The power of bringing people back to life is already a miracle which why you had believed in all my words trustingly."

Chung Gon was floored with what he had heard. "You tricked me? But how? I don't give away a reason for you to think I am not a reincarnated person."

"Yes you don't," Seoyeon smirked, "I was thinking what to do if someone faked themselves as someone I know from Haneul's life. Hwa told me to use this method. I just didn't know I can perform it this easily."

Chung Gon sighed, bending down his face and using one hand to cover over his upper half face. "Hwa. He used that to trick me. I haven't told you and maybe Hwa didn't tell you but I am someone similar to uncle for them," —and by them, Seoyeon guessed it was both Jung Hwa and his brother.— "It is one of the reason why he felt betrayed by me. Because I didn't investigate his mother's death as I should have."

"You might want to chit chat but I don't. Who put you up to this?" Seoyeon uncrossed her hand and raised both her hands on air, "The only person who can order you about the past must be someone who had been reincarnated. Someone between Han Anhye and Min Hyuk." her eyes narrowed.

"I am not here for anything. I was only told to buy time," said Chung Gon with a triumph smile.

Seoyeon was wondering what he meant when she heard a loud blast from somewhere inside the Hunter's building. With her eyes wide, she looked at the door. Chung Gon took the chance to make an escape. Seoyeon used her power to slam the door close but instead, she had only closed herself as Chung Gon managed to escape earlier than her.

When she got out of the room, Chung Gon had been gone. She kne he must be somewhere around as it he couldn't run that far away even as a vampire, but the blast earlier worried her.

Seoyeon turned her heels and followed the sound of the blast which Chung Gon knew would be her first priority and therefore run the opposite way. Seoyeon slid through the people when she saw one of the hunters that were running. There were blood all over her shirt.

She took hold of her shoulder before she could leave. "What happened? Where did that sound came from."

The woman was shocked to see Seoyeon before her eyes. "The new head of the Associate. He blasted the room! There are many people dead inside the room and half more. My friend... he didn't make it."

The room?

"Where is it?" Seoyeon asked with haste. She saw the finger pointing the hallways to the left, taking turn, Seoyeon made her way to see more people lining together, all in distress and most of them had their clothes drenched with blood she could see from afar the walls colliding. Scars of burns covered some side of beside the door where the bomb had blown while the wall across the room had turned completely black.

Seoyeon pulled a person's jacket when she passed by, asking them without waiting their response and covered her body before pulling the hood to cover her face.

When she came there, she saw Gun Nam standing with a wide eerie smile on his lips across the hunters. Now, Seoyeon understood why most of the hunters had weapons with them. It was Gun Nam!

"...reason for this to happen is simple." Seoyeon came to scene when Gun Nam was talking. "I didn't like how impertinent your head chief was. Not to mention how I was being kind with him yet was replied with rudeness as he ignored my wish to be transparent and hid secrets before me."

"The Hunters are not yours to order! We live on our own will not on the side of other witches or vampire. Whether we wish to be transparent or not, it is not your place to punish us—" the man wasn't able to complete his words as the woman beside Gun Nam used her blade and threw it below his chest.

The Hunters were once again at the tension. They asked themselves if they could fight because if they do there was the consequence of them waging a war against the vampires.

"We don't have to hesitate. He is working with witches!" yelled one of the hunters and his word pour oil to the blazing fire. The rest of the hunters shouted in agreement and made haste to attack both Chung Gon and the woman who was grinning beside him.

When a large bluish ball or power came on the surface of the woman's palm, Seoyeon frowned. Not to mention the bad terrain where they were all standing cramped inside a narrow corridor, there was no place for the hunters to escape or dodge the power.

The woman, like Gun Nam was both addicted and had became a slave to the pleasure of seeing others dying.

The woman threw the ball of power toward the hunters. Expecting blood everywhere only for her eyes to widen as the bluish swirl of her ability stopped mid air.

Seoyeon made her way through the hoards of hunters who made way for her.

"I once gave you and your family a chance, Ava," said Seoyeon with her silverish eyes.. "And you disappointed me."
