Chapter 364 - Processing-II

It was horror all around him. Blood everywhere as his eyes that were once black burned a bright red blaze. Jung Hwa pushed aside the witch, using his hand he clawed for her heart.

Ava who had exhausted her power with the wound right below her heart wasn't able to dodge the attack completely. She cursed as she didn't manage to do her task but seeing the dead vampire who had spoken as if he knew and could see everything about her when he was alive, Ava also felt that she had completed what she needed to do.

Ava used her last bit of power to escape, using magic to disappear from the place.

Jung Hwa clicked his tongue anger was like storm on his eyes as he wanted to chase for the witchess who attacked his grandfather but his attention was all poured to grandfather Jung who groaned in pain.

"Grandfather," Jung Hwa said in panic. One thing that only a few know, while vampires were strong and had the speed that could have people lose to them in term of sheer physical power, their heart was the weakness. If one pulled out the heart and crush them or manage to crush their heart using anything, it would be a grave danger.

Using his blood ability, Jung Hwa closed his eyes, pulling all the blood that was on the ground at his order to heal the wound that gape widely on Grandfather Jung's heart.

No matter how strong Jung Hwa was and his strong control of his ability, it was still impossible for him to heal the mortal wound which Grandfather Jung had at this moment. Jung Hwa was well aware of this, but he cannot bear to lose his grandfather. Even though overexerting his power can kill him, Jung Hwa didn't are.

"...wa," Grandfather Jung's voice came beside his ears. Jung Hwa opened his eyes that he had closed, looking at his Grandfather where the elderly man had both a frown and a smile on his lips. "You can stop," his grandfather spoke.

The begging reminded him of his mother's words.

'You can stop.'

It was the same words his mother had said to him before she died.

Jung Hwa was stubborn, this was his only family, the only one who was still alive. There was a chance to save him, he was certain of it.

"Don't speak, I can do this," Jung Hwa whispered back.

It was the third time for him to see his family near death, the second one had been an experience that was different from the first or now, but the feeling in his heart didn't change.

He felt panic, alarm, and helpless.

"I know you can't—" Grandfather Jung spoke, invoking the fear in Jung Hwa to be pushed again to the surface.

"No, don't speak! I know that you are trying to say your last word. I won't allow that," Jung Hwa answered. For once, Grandfather Jung who had only seen Jung Hwa with his cocky smile saw the fear that was clear on his eyes. Seeing it, the elderly man questioned himself.

Was this how he felt during the time he had killed his mother and brother?

No matter how strong a person's state of mind was, it was difficult for them not to get distressed for killing their family members and yet, Hwa had to do so. He didn't have the chance.

"I'm sorry," came the single word from the elderly man that broke every last piece of glass shards which once was Jung Hwa's heart.

"I am a petty person grandfather," Jung Hwa answered, cold sweat dropping from the side of his face as he tried to close the mortal wound. There was no time. He had to shift his grandfather to the light witch who might be able to help him but the wound was too wide that he had to close it here or else his grandfather would die before he manage to move him.

"If you want to say sorry for me, apologize for your entire life with me. Watch me when we reached our happiness. You cannot leave like this. Not in this way. Didn't you say you want to wither with age?"

Grandfather Jung smiled. He had said the words years ago and yet Jung Hwa remembered it. Now he knew who was the only person who had been treasuring the time they had when their family was complete. While Jung Hwa at first hand appeared quiet and won't mingle with her family as he stood at the corner and ignore them, it was false, he had stood on the corner so he would be able to see all his family members and admire the time that they have.

"I should have believed you, stand by your side and support you," Grandfather Jung spoke again despite Jung Hwa who wished he would stay quiet. "When you found out about the witches, I only thought the only way for me to help you was by telling that they were not real. I know how much you wanted to kill them, the revenge but I had acted on what I thought was correct."

"You were not in the wrong," Jung Hwa answered, not letting his tears falling he looked back at his grandfather's eyes with his glassy eyes. "You protected me well."

"I... am glad," the elder pureblood said before his head turned to the left, feeling his heartbeat weakened, Jung Hwa's eyes snapped wide and at once, the red mists engulf them, transporting him and his grandfather on the doors of the light witches house. "I need help!" Jung Hwa yelled and he saw the door slowly pushed opened.

Standing before Jung Hwa wasn't the fortuneteller but rather the hunter whose name was Kwon Huan.

Jung Hwa's eyes narrowed and immediately Kwon Huan raised both his hand as if in surrender.

"I am not your enemy!" He warned. Looking at Jung Hwa, he noticed how pale his face had gotten and how exhausted the pureblood was. His eyes then looked down at the other pureblood who was bleeding out. "Bring him inside, I will be able to help you."

Jung Hwa stared back at the hunter in disbelief, not long, Seojun came outside and seeing him, Hwa decided to trust to the man who claimed he could save his grandfather. In haste, they entered the house.

Meanwhile, in the other part of the Associate building, Chung Gon stood in his own work room. Walking over, his eyes sauntered over the picture frames. His fingers caught the frame which was placed upside down to cover the picture. His eyes then settled on the portrait of a woman whose smile appeared prideful and two sons beside her.

"You really work me even when I have died, Jung Hyesu."

When he heard the door to his room opened, Chung Gon turned his face, his eyes slowly looking at the one who entered, "Gu Manyeong," called Chung Gon with a smile over who had entered. "What your business here? I don't think the Associate had accepted you as one of us."

"I don't plan to work here," answered Gu Manyeong, his legs crossed as he made himself a place on the couch.

"You are not?" Chung Gon asked with a raise of his eyebrows, "Of course, how can I forgot it, you dearest step brother died on the cemetery of this building yet..." Chung Gon pushed back his brownish red hair, "I always find you lurking everywhere like a rat."

"Because I don't care," Gu Manyeong answered with a smile on his lips. "I don't care whether my step brother was killed here. We had a pretty terrible relationship. I would like to call that relationship even worse than roommates in one house."

"I heard that," Chung Gon pulled out the cigarette from his pocket, placing it on his mouth and lighted the end with the lighter, bringing smoke to the room as he blew out his breaths. "I also heard about how hateful you are against your step mother and yet you always appeared like a man without any fault, a blameless child. You are so good in acting that I want to hire you."

"Hire me? I am sure I am not as better as you or Gun Nam who is planning to take over the Associate—" Gu Manyeong smiled when he saw the gun nuzzle was pointed at his head. "You are going to kill me because I found out your secret plan?"

"You know it," Chung Gon nodded, "Tell me a reason why I shouldn't kill you."

"I am not interested in joining your game," answered Gu Manyeong. "I am more interested in your past, Chung Gon. I heard that you were the one who had put Mr. Jung Hwa into the custody for killing his mother? Even though you were her dearest friend?"

Chung Gon's eyes narrowed, "What do you mean to say?"

"I need you to help me something and I might seal my lips about this secret plan you have with Gun Name. I know you two would hate it very much if anyone was to find out your secret," Gu Manyeong had a wide smile on his lips. When heir eyes met, Chung Gon could feel the shiver. The gaze that Gu Manyeong had felt as if he could read deep into his mind, invoking a very uncomfortable and disgusting feeling.

"Don't you take it in consideration how I can kill you now?" Saying the words, Chung Gon pullled the cork of the gun, readying to kill him.

"Yes I did," Gu Manyeong answered before his smile falling. Chung Gon had a frown on his forehead, wondering where the confidence came for the man but before he could ask, a large force of wind appeared out of no where, pushing Chung Gon far away that he crashed into the wall.

"But you didn't consider the possibility of me killing you, do you?" Gu Manyeong took a walk slowly over the wall, watching Chung Gon coughing for breaths.

"Y-You are a second generation pureblood? But you are not!" Chung Gon said in disbelief.

"You got the information wrong. I terribly have an urgent mission to do. I need your help."

"Shouldn't you asking for help or please now?" Chung Gon pulled a little smirk on his lips.

"I forgot to add this, but I am threatening you.. Do I really need to say please?" Gu Manyeong asked, one side of his lips quirk higher.
