Chapter 359 - Betrayed Heart-V

While the wedding ceremony caused the royal palace to be filled with the red curtains and ornaments. The ladies in waiting and eunuchs were in a hurry to make sure everything was perfect before the time come for the new Queen to arrive.

"They say that the King chose only one single person as his Queen and that is his lady!" The maid said in a tone full f joy, "Isn't it just romantic?"

"But you know how most kings promised such a thing at first but later changed their mind," said the other maid. "I think that love of a king is short-lived—" realizing the clicking sound, they turned their face, seeing it was the commander, Bom.

"If you have anything else better to say then I suggest you to use that energy in doing you work rather than wasting it here," Bom's eyes were sharp. The maids who knew she was a vampiress and a stronger one at that quickly bowed before scattering around.

"I didn't know you would be here, Bom," the voice of Raeul came behind her.

Bom turned her face, "It's my work," she said without looking at Raeul face, "Why won't I come here? I have worked my life it's my privilege to roam around the royal palace. In the past my father would always warn me not to come here. He said we aren't allowed to."

"I thought you wouldn't come here, not to the royal palace but on this day. Don't you still love him, Min Hyuk?" Raeul questioned her, causing Bom to redirect her gaze to look at him with a burning glare.

Stomping her shoes, she stood on her toes, pressing her lips on Raeul's. "I want my wedding to be also held in the royal palace."

Raeul couldn't help the grin on his face, "Maybe that would be difficult but we can borrow the garden if that would suffice for my Queen."

Bom smiled. In a mere three years, Raeul had came and consoled her, changing her to a better person and she had come to love him for his selfless love to her.

"That would do."

But the two and like any others in the royal palace wasn't aware of the movements that shifted quietly on the royal palace.

Outside, as the ceremony had started, Haneul took Min Hyuk's hand. She placed her fingers gingerly before feeling herself pulled out from the red sedan. A wide smile like what she had was on his lips.

"Welcome, my wife to our house," said Min Hyuk.

The wedding ceremony started peacefully. Haneul was accompanied with her family and she couldn't express how happy she was to have her families and friends all around her.

The day ended peacefully with the banquet held to celebrate their marriage. The villagers from the invisible village had been invited as well for they had been the greatest ally during the war against the Queen and a friend of the newly crowned Queen.

"What do you wish for?" Min Hyuk asked her dutifully, holding to her had, filling both her palm and her heart with warmth.

"I only want there to be peace between us and the kingdom," Haneul answered during the war, her hands had been dyed with blood and she didn't want it to happen to her ever again.

"Peace that is, everything you wish for. I like our life to be peaceful as well," Min Hyuk picked u her hand in his, bringing it close to his mouth, and kissed the back of her finger daintily. "I know you would be the wisest and most beautiful Queen this kingdom wold have."

"You are exaggerating," chuckled Haneul, "I am sure you would also be the best King there is in our whole kingdom."

"Not the most handsome?" Min Hyuk grinned at her, fishing her words.

"And the most handsome," agreed Haneul. As the banquet continue, Haneul roamed around the royal palace. Her ladies in waiting told her to only order them for what she needs. It was true that as a Queen there would be lesser time for her to use her own hands and limbs as the maids around her would do everything only allowing her to hold the teacup.

But Haneul wasn't the Queen her ancestors were, she proposed the idea of being less dependent to the servants around her as it would render her useless. She wasn't some doll after all and wanted to talk to the people who she hadn't met. Seeing Yeseul, her late maid bowed.

Haneul looked around and asked, "I didn't see JaeGil anywhere. Is he staying in the invisible village when everyone is here?"

"I don't think so. Anhye is having our baby with us so he should be here," Yeseul looked around with Haneul. "How strange he really is not here even though he said he had something he really have to bring to you."

"Bring to me?" Haneul inquired.

"It's only a small present," came another voice behind which was Seola. The girl didn't bow or show politeness to the Queen and her behavior didn't sit well with everyone in the room as there were mostly nobles; nobles hated it when the common folks had no manners especially to the Queen as it was disrespectful.

Yeseul doesn't like Seola either despite being with her in the invisible village for years. "Seola, you are lacking manner. Haneul is the Queen," reminded Yeseul.

Seola huffed, "Queen or not, she is just a human and why should I bow to her when she is not my Queen? Also—" the girl's eyes sharply glared at Haneul who looked back calmly at her. "—stop searching for JaeGil. Don't you know that you are bothering him?"

"If JaeGil does feel bothered with me, he will say this to me myself. He isn't someone who is mute and need another person to tell what he want to say," Haneul responded to Seola calmly. "And I might not be the Queen for you, but when you enter the royal palace I would like to expect for your politeness. Not because I wish to be respected but I don't want you to be shunned by others for your immature action," Haneul was sincere with her words. It was the happiest day for her and she didn't want to fight but Seola took her words to heart and thought that Haneul was once again berating her.

"I would like to see until when you will be the Queen I am sure soon—" Seola suddenly went quiet when Madam Yoo placed her hand on her shoulders.

The elderly woman look at Seola with a warning look, causing the girl to flinch and immediately glued her lips together.

"I'm sorry Haneul," Madam Yoo said as she bowed, "I know you are thinking the best for Seola but she is still immature as you said. I hope you wouldn't take her words into heart."

Haneul was a forgiving woman, and she didn't want to make the situation worse for Madam Yoo when the woman hadn't done anything wrong. "Don't worry, Madam Yoo. I am alright. What Seola said doesn't hurt me either. I wish she would be a little more respectful."

"As I do, Seola," Madam Yoo's eyes turned cold, causing Seola to flinch on her place, "Don't ruin this beautiful day and go."

Seola's expression says a lot that she wishes to say but had to wrapped all her words as she was afraid of Madam Yoo's anger. Turning away, her stomping could be heard.

Min Hyuk wasn't far away from Haneul, watching her holding a discussion with a wide smile had him happy. Since the previous Queen named her the sword and shield of the kingdom, Haneul who once was the bright girl she is now changed into a shell of herself.

She became withdrawn from others but now she had become confident and he thought that all the life that he took unhesitatingly was worth to see the bright smile on her lips.

Madam Yoo and Haneul along with Yeseul continue to speak with merriment, while the silence that grew outside become rowdy without anyone's notice.

"I am glad that you finally have what you wish for, Haneul," said Madam Yoo when Yeseul had left to bring them a drink. "The throne, the kingdom, and the entire land, everything is now on your hand, it must be a pleasing experience to become a Queen."

Haneul raised her brows subtly, wondering why did Madam Yoo speak like this when she had never been the person who seemed to care about wealth or the kingdom.

Seoyeon who was in Haneul immediately picked up something wrong was happening. But she still couldn't figure out what was out of place as Haneul was.

Haneul answered kindly, "I am only glad that everyone is alright and safe. It had been my first priority to see peace equally serving each single person in this kingdom. The throne, kingdom, or the land itself mean less to me than the happiness of those close to me," Haneul then placed her hand over Madam Yoo, "and that includes you, Madam Yoo. You had helped me in many ways, helping me to train and learn about the power in me. I am fortunate that you were there for me."

"Me too," Madam Yoo answered. Seoyeon suddenly felt a thump in her heart a very bad premonition lurked inside her heart upon seeing Madam Yoo's hollow smile, "I am happy that the catalyst was you. You are such a beautiful and powerful girl. But I have to say, you are also naive."

Haneul raised her brows only to knit them into a frown on the next passing second as a cold sensation pushed through the flesh of her stomach. Her eyes widened and she staggered back as blood colored her red dress even redder.

Seoyeon could also feel the burning pain in her stomach even though she wasn't Haneul and the burnt had her body which was on the real world to shake uncontrollably.

"You already have a taste of your happiness. It's time for me to receive mine," said Madam Yoo. Her smile that had been kind now spread wide in an eerie manner. Chuckles left her lips as she looked back at Haneul's shocked expression.

"Don't worry, I will help you to die while still looking at your best, Haneul, my dear."
