Chapter 354 - Bloody War-III

"Forgive my forwardness if it displease you, but was it necessary?" Raeul questioned while watching Bom who disappeared from the door.

"It is. By now she should have realized that I am not into her and I have someone else in my heart. If she keep deluding herself for a chance between her and me that could led to harming Haneul, I wouldn't allow it," answered Min Hyuk resolutely.

"Women are truly a mysterious being. I am afraid jealousy will drive her to attempt what she shouldn't," Raeul answered as he moved to close the door.

Min Hyuk tilted his lips, "Chase her then. I know you have a little amount of attraction to her."

Raeul thinned his lips, "My life is yours, Lord Min Hyuk. I have almost died and you saved me. I don't think I should tie myself in relationship with my short life."

Min Hyuk's brows raised and he walked beside Raeul, placing a hand over his shoulder, "For trusting your life to me, you have become my responsibility. I will make sure your life won't end quickly thus tangle yourself with the person you want to be. Right now you are no different than a living dead and I prefer living or dead better than in-between."

Raeul's eyes gleamed. Seoyeon who watched everything could see the charisma Min Hyuk had that could put him on par with the Queen. No wonder that the Queen had planned to kill him, thought Seoyeon in her mind. With the gathered fame Min Hyuk acquired after being the Hero of the war, the Queen was afraid he would outshine her and the crown slip from her fingers.

When the morning came, Min Hyuk walked out of his room dressed in the usual deep blue robes. Seoyeon noticed how compared to Haneul's house, Min Hyuk's house was much more dimmer, the garden barely had fire in it and she could feel the eeriness each passage held.

"Our Hero!" Beamed a man who was standing with his hand full of four women who stood near around him. Their smile was coquettish and hearing the title the man heard, their eyes quickly turned to admire Min Hyuk.

"Who is this, milord?"

"Is he the Hero, Lord Min Hyuk?"

"Correct my roses, he is my younger brother, Min Hyuk. The Hero who foolishly became the dog for the Queen!" Tittered the man and the rest of the women laughed to be on his side.

All expression from Min Hyuk's face had disappeared. He could smell the horrible stench of blood and alcohol from his brother. Being the youngest doesn't make him weaker than his brother or less responsible. In lieu of being the outcast of the second son who would inherit lesser than the first son, Min Hyuk had prove to acquire his own standing and fame that shamed his brother.

"You ought to grow up soon, brother," Min Hyuk said in a passive tone.

This entire house was horrible, he thought. He could smell the blood that started from one of the room which he knew was where his brother came from.

The women were putting smiles and seductive look but it didn't hide the small trembling on their fingers. He could hear from the sound of their heartbeat the fear that instilled inside them for they were humans.

Min Hyuk felt his senses numbed. In the growing seconds, his heart hardened. He hid the scorn under his eyes that had turned red.

His brother thought his eyes had changed due to anger of his words. He came forward, pushing the women who was around him to urged more anger on Min Hyuk, "Tell me how does it feel, brother? To become a second to human! It was stupid how those humans thought they could triumph over us when they are lesser in their whole being. There was nothing in them that could defeat us yet they still dreamt of ruling over our kind!"

Min Hyuk didn't answer. Being taller than his older brother who had staggered while walking, his eyes only coldly looked down on him which angered the older vampire.

"What does our doggy have to say for himself? Or is it that you can't speak unless your master told you to?"

Min Hyuk can't hold the chuckle from his lips. His red eyes deepened in color and while looking down at his brother, his grin widened in mockery, "A dog that can bite is much better than a wild dog that could only bark like you."

"Why you—!" His brother held his hand into fists and as if remembering something, he chuckled, "Yes, and perhaps a wild dog that can only bark is much better than a dog who had been casted aside by their master. I heard about it, that human woman from Sol Family who you always obey and tail so ardently ignored all the letters you sent when you were in the battlefield."

Min Hyuk didn't responded, not seeing why he should to answer the talking piece of scumbag.

His silence was taken as a confirmation by his older brother who burst to more laughter, "Once a whore is always a who—"

A crashing sound came crisply on the entire house. The women who had fallen on the ground in fear saw with their own eyes the sight of Min Hyuk smashing his brother's head to the concrete wall beside him.

His eyes were deep with rage and all he saw was red.

"Shut up," snarled Min Hyuk, the very word he said held a wintry hostility. "I am letting you alive only because you shared half of the blood I have. Play nice, brother, unless this dog will rip and tear you to pieces."

The latter didn't answer, he couldn't answer as his hand lost all its energy. He then turned to see the women's face loosing all color. "You should tell to the head of your brothel not to sent you here anymore. A mad dog is here who will eat you alive. Understand?"

"Y-y-yes, Lord Min Hyuk!" The women replied in unison.

Min Hyuk ignored what happened after, leaving his brother's side without checking whether he was still alive he continued on his own path.

When passing by the room where the smell of blood came from, his eyes narrowed at the body of the woman that sprawled on the ground. Tears were on the women's lightless eyes as two striking wound on her neck oozes the red liquid of blood.

"Disgusting," murmured Min Hyuk.

He held his hand against his neck where he felt a burning thirst. He bite his lips, moving away from the room and when he passed by the mirror, he stared at his own bright red eyes. On the reflection, he didn't see himself but rather the sight of a vampire drooling for blood of a dead person.

Disgust and anger came hand in hand but the disgust he felt wasn't directed over the dead body or only against his brother who disregard a person's life.

Unable to see his own reflection of a thirsty vampire, he crashed his fist to the mirror, breaking the glasses to shards. "You are also as disgusting as him."

In that moment, Seoyeon could see the struggle Min Hyuk had. He appeared to detest vampires and maybe himself for thirsting after blood despite seeing a corpse.

He hadn't walk too far when he saw his father. The man was robed in a the olive green colored clothes. He was standing alone and despite being decades older than him, he didn't appear much older compared to Min Hyuk.

Like his brother, Min Hyuk held no respect for his father because they were both mirror to each other. Without paying heed, Min Hyuk walked passed by his father who smiled and said, "You will regret choosing a human to love with and a human Queen to heed with."

Min Hyuk turned his face, his smile was brief before it fell and a chilling expression came on his face, "I don't heed to any Queen except one person and if she kills me then, I have no regrets."

"You are crazy! You have potential to overthrow humans—" his father yellings continued but Min Hyuk had turned a deaf ear to the words he said, and left. His tight hold caused his knuckles had turned white.

Away from the dream Seoyeon had, in the present time, Han Seojun who was on the same car as Kwon Huan turned his head to look behind them, seeing the still same care following them.

"What do you mean by reincarnation and the catalyst?" Seojun questioned in haste.

"The first catalyst still has her consciousness inside Seoyeon. I am someone who had been reincarnated to meet the first catalyst again. We are going to leave and find them now," said Kwon Huan as he turned the wheel and raced.

"Now?! But there those people who is following—" Seojun who had been watching the car then raised his brows when he saw the car taking a different path all of a sudden.

"They wouldn't know where we are any longer, get down," ordered Kwon Huan as he stopped the car and jumped down from the car.

Seojun was confused but seeing that Kwon Huan knows about Seoyeon and seemed to be able to help him, he followed what Kwon Huan had ordered.

Seojun had only taken a step forward when he heard a loud burst from the car that startled the life out of him. The car that they once used now had turned into wood for a large fire camp.

"What did you.... how did you do that?" Seojun didn't see any traces of fire around him, no fuel to throw over the water no lighter and yet the flame had appeared all of a sudden. "Who are you?"

"I am known in this life as Kwon Huan," the man introduced, "But in the past I was more known as JaeGil, a light witch from birth."

"Light witch?"

"No time to explain, we should leave to the safest place now, your hand," Kwon Huan ordered and Seojun who was still confused could only look at him in speechlessness. With a sigh, Kwon Huan took hold of Seojun's hand as they zapped away from the place.

By the time Seojun had opened his eyes again, he found himself in front of a large concrete gate. Without a sign or a knock, Kwo Huan had entered.

While looking around, trying to assess where they were, a woman stepped out from the house. Her eyes had been tied with a clean white ribbon.

The fortuneteller frowned, she didn't let the two men entered yet for some reason they had easily maneuvered inside her house, "Who are you? How can you enter my barrier."

Seojun raised his brows, the woman doesn't know Kwon Huan?

"Because I am a being like you, a light witch. You seem to have forgotten everything. I am Kwon Huan, JaeGil in my past life. It's nice to see you again, Miss fortuneteller," smiled Kwon Huan in a pleasing smile. "Or if you remember your name in the past life.... Yeseul."
