Chapter 312 - Attempting Revival-I

Jung Hwa appeared on the house he embarked from without taking more than a minute. When he came back, the vampire butler of the house, who was startled by his sudden appearance gasped in shock, "Bring a doctor! A human doctor, now!" Jung Hwa yelled, he cannot afford to lose a single second that could harm Seoyeon's life.

Looking down at her, he noticed how the side of her stomach begin to bleed and he didn't know when it had happened. Her face had turned white pale and her body started to shiver.

"I was thinking what was the ruckus," said Lee Young who appeared from the corner of the corridor, a drop of blood trailed below his lips, and beside him leave Yu Sheen who quickly noticed Jung Hwa, Seoyeon, and other two people who have come here. "I should ask what you are bringing and doing in my house but no matter how heartless I am I can tell now isn't the time for it. Bring her to the nearest room."

"We need a doctor. A human doctor," Jung Hwa stated with a pressed tone, one could see from a glance of his face how panicked he was.

"I am a doctor," Lee Taehyung who had just parted his last goodbye with Seulgi on his arm said, and he looked at Yu Sheen, "Would you hold her for me."

Yu Sheen saw the condition of the woman and the three vampires on the corridor could tell that the woman's life had disappeared. "I will take care of her, carefully," promised Yu Sheen who took care of the body.

"Where is the nearest room?" Jung Hwa questioned and upon seeing Lee Young's finger point at the nearest door they left the place.

"Is there anything you would need, doctor?" asked Lee Young as he twisted his finger for the door that was close to open.

"If you perhaps have stitches and blood transfusion pack," Lee Taehyung questioned.

The older pureblood tipped his chin, "I will get it done."

During the time Seoyeon was fighting for her life with the loss of blood, Jung Hwa sat outside the room. His hands that were clasped tightly settled on his knees as he pressed his forehead over his knuckles. When he had seen Seoyeon loses his consciousness, he was glad to see her awake as if his hope was achieved but now he knew there was more to come that he should worry more.

Never did he felt such a rush, heart-pounding sensation crawling over his spine. It had happened once, on the day where he felt tears threatening his eyelids, his eyes shaking at the red image that laid before him. When Jung Hwa looked at the wooden door that spoke nothing to him. The silence had never been as dreadful as this and the unease he had been pushing from the corner of his heart slithered back in. Time tick continuously and the monotone beat caused his fangs to only dig deeper to his lower lips.

"Calm down," Lee Young's voice came clear to him only when the man had tapped his hand on his shoulder. "She would be alright. You came at the right time. I might not be a doctor for humans, but I can tell that much."

No words left Jung Hwa's lips and he only noticed how the blood from his lips wasps on the air like red clouds as if responding to the turbulence of his emotions, "Have you ever been in this position?"

"Waiting for someone and watching them as time run out for them?" questioned Lee Young as he stared at the younger pureblood, his bright bloody eyes did not hold any emotions but a faint and brief story was told in a breeze. "I did once. As for you, this must be your third time. Losing people had never been easy. Words can describe your feeling only by a fraction at times such as these."

"I tried to protect her," and he thought he had done well by doing so, but the result stabbed him from his back.

"And you did great," said Lee Young to find a wry smile spreading on Jung Hwa's lips. "Protecting doesn't ever mean saving anyone completely from harm you know. It's often when days are bright and the day felt perfect that incidents such as these hit us hard like a train cart," Lee Young pulled his hand away from his shoulders and begin to give him a cloud-like tap on his back. "Be strong for her who is fighting there too."

The closed door that Jung Hwa couldn't tear his eyes away from burst opened, Lee Taheyung stepped out and snatched open his mask. Jung Hwa's feet sprung from the chair, "How is she?"

Lee Taehyung rushed, "I have dressed her physical wounds but a new variable just adds up. The wound on Seoyeon's shoulder was imbued with a dark witch's potion. It is not deadly if treated fast but the I cannot make the antidote." Each witch has elements that could never suit them such as white witches who could never touch deadly magic or dark witches who could not heal or create healing potion nor an antidote.

"If that's the case we have a white witch," Lee Young said but the problem would be creating the antidote that could take hours.

Jung Hwa also shared the thought marched a step, "How long does she have?"

"Not long, an hour is at most before her heartbeat stops," answered Lee Taehyung, his words coming out heavy. The least he thought he could prevent was Seoyeon dying but life was never on his hands nor anyone.

"An hour is enough," came Jung Hwa's sudden word that had both the pureblood vampire and dark witch to twist their neck as their brows raised high over their forehead.

"What do you think you are doing?" Lee Young snatched Jung Hwa's wrist. He had since the child since he was young and never was he not reckless once.

"Saving my life and soul," Jung Hwa jerked his hand and stepped inside the room before slamming it close. Lee Young's long hair he tied on his shoulder slopped to his back upon the rushes of wind and a sigh passed his lips.

"How reckless," without staying there any longer, he then left the place.

"Where are you going, sir?" Lee Taheying curiously question.

"Cleaning my grand nephew's mess, I had just received word from my pet that they are pasted on the hunt list now-- that girl and soon his name would be on the list once the Associate knew she is under his protection. You can instead take care of the girl in the other room," Lee Young didn't waste a second before disappearing from the place without leaving a trace of the process he took to disappear.

She watched her lips move; what she wanted to say remain unclear as if a part of herself refused to hear the voice that came from the mouth. Seoyeon perused what Haneul tried to say when a voice came beside her ears, "...wake up."

Seoyeon snapped her eyes open to find herself looking on a dark ceiling above her. Although the room was filled with darkness and only a few yellow lights to help her eyes to venture around the room, a sense of liberation opened her heart.

Her right hand that once felt cold now was draped with a blanket of warmth and her eyes chased for the source of the heat, finding Jung Hwa's hands clasped tightly between the gaps of her fingers, "Hwa," her single word was interrupted as Jung Hwa snatched her body to his embrace. His arms wreathed around her waist, keeping her close to his heartbeat.

"I thought I have lost it all. Everything--" whispered Jung Hwa, his touch of warmth felt like a hammer to break the cage around her heart that kept hostage of her sorrows, causing glittering clear drops to trace the shape of her cheeks, dropping slowly to his shoulders.

Wordlessly, Seoyeon clutched her fingers and crumpled his clothes that felt cold from sweats. Like a wailing child, she buried her face on his shoulders, crying for her loss, fear, and sadness that surge like tsunami waves.

Jung Hwa didn't pull her away to wipe her tears, letting her lament on his shoulders as this was all he could offer for now. It vexed him how much he wasn't of use to her, but the help Seoyeon needed was far from his ability or reach as the catalyst in her had begun to evolve. He hoped that one day he could find the medicine to heal sadness so Soeyeon won't have to suffer-- but that was all his wish as if want Seoyeon to be released of her sadness, he would also need to erase her memories.

Seoyeon calmed down after a while, her tears had been cleanly wiped, and the friction of the tissue caused the rim of her eyes to turn red. "Are you alright?" came Seoyeon question when she looked at Jung Hwa's face, finding his pale skin had turn whiter than before.

"Mhm, I wasn't hurt," Jung Hwa said as he comforted his cheeks on her palm.

Seoyeon stared at him and her eyes trailed on his clothes, "I didn't hurt you?" she asked again and saw him shook his head.

"Hardly. Do you remember what happened?" Jung Hwa asked her without tearing his eyes away from her as if he was afraid that if he blinked once, she would disappear and another soul that resides inside her will took over her body.

"I did... I came to visit the hospital again because I forgot my phone... and I..." Something suddenly hit Seoyeon, "And Seulgi! Where is she? There is something I must to--" Seoyeon who pushed herself suddenly from the bed to move then suddenly felt her body tilted forward as if the ground called for her as her sight flickered between black and white.

"Don't reckless move, you have just lost a lot of blood," Jung Hwa's voice hardened as he brought her back to sit on the edge of the bed. "The blood you lost is enough to fee four vampires for three days, do you know that?"

Seoyeon's eyes trailed on the can bucket near the cupboard, her eyes finally noted the cotton that filled the trash can to the brim had turned bright red with the amount of blood it had absorbed. But an urgent mission had been tasked to her, "I need to see Seulgi. There is a way...."
