Chapter 287 - Short-Lived Kiss-III

"The Queen..." Min Hyuk gave the girl a thin smile, "She only wish the best for the kingdom."

Seeing how Min Hyuk hesitates, the girl and Seoyeon assumed that the rumors were very close to the truth. "I see. I am still curious about the savior. Do you know their name or anything about them?"

"No," Min Hyuk sighed, looking rather concerned that he knew nothing about the savior either, "But the yellow witch and the Queen called her as the 'catalyst'." Seoyeon's eyes widened at this piece of information, hoping the man to say more but he didn't. "I don't think that's her name but her title. I would have to leave now."

The girl's smile failed to keep its position high upon hearing Min Hyuk would be leaving. Her eyes looked down on the ground when Min Hyuk placed his hand on top of her head. Gaining her attention, she looked up to see the young man smiled, "The hunting game soon will begin. You told me before that you wish to go there right?"

"But father don't often come to the hunting game and I am a girl. Girls can't go to a hunting game," sighed the girl, "I was hoping to see it once."

"And you will," Min Hyuk smiled, "On the upcoming hunting game, come with me."

"With you?" The girl blinked, her cheeks grew hotter when she thinks of the special offer Min Hyuk gave her.

"I am inviting you, silly," Min Hyuk chuckled after seeing her surprised expression. "See you tomorrow."

The girl didn't leave as she continues to watch Min Hyuk's retreating figure. When the young man finally gone, she held her cheeks, her smile widening. It didn't take Seoyeon to be a genius to know how much this girl love the young man.

Considering this was a dream, at the start, Seoyeon wondered if it was the continuation of the lucid dream she had before or this dream talks of someone else. The white witch told her the lucid dream spoke about someone close to her. But she didn't know this girl or that young man. Causing her to question who she is as this appear to happen long time ago before she was even born. She only finds out after Min Hyuk spoke about the catalyst, what the lucid dream wanted to show her was about the catalyst.

Seoyeon retreated her thought to snap out of the dream, deciding to watch everything that would happen.

The girl then went back to her house. Unlike the storage room she had slept earlier, her house was much larger and gorgeous. As she made her way to the hallway, some maids who saw her flinched and bowed before scattering away as if they were mouses who had just seen a large hungry cat,

The girl was sad. It was strange for maids to ignore or show such rude behavior toward the daughter of the family they are working for. But the fear that the maids showed had its own reason that circulate from last evening when they had witness the girl breaking the plate only by touching her chopstick on it.

Stopping one maid on the way who flinched at her call, the girl asked, "Where is my mother?"

"The madam had been waiting for you in your room, my lady," answered the maid and knowing how she didn't want to be heard, the girl dismissed her, and continue to March toward her room.

When she opened the door, her eyes fall on her mother who was reading one of the books she had on the racks, "Have you found a way to stop whatever power you have in you?" came her mother sharp question that instead of asking if she was alright after spending a night on the cold storage room.

The girl was hurt but she had been treated the way her mother did now which why she felt less pain, "Yes mother," she lied, how can one study their power when they didn't know what she could do either? "Forgive me for the mistake I did yesterday. I promise it will never happen again."

"Good," Her mother closed the book with a loud slap. Her eyes moved at the girl with a scrutinizing gaze. "You are a human, Sol Haneul. Humans don't have power like you do. You made trouble by showing your power in the middle of the day, gathering many witnesses. I have silenced those maids but if this were to happen again," her mother pressed her words, letting the rest hang on the air so Haneul would be able to pick it up herself. Her eyes weren't the ones one would use to their child.

"I will make sure it will never happen again," Haneul replied, bowing and her mother seemed to only be half satisfied by her answer.

"Keep your word," was her mother's heartless words before she left her room. If it was in the past, Haneul would have waited for a little bit of kindness from her mother, a hug or a kiss. But as she grew older she knew that won't happen and had accepted the behavior her mother showed. Her hope was to grow her children in a very different way than her mother did.

"Milady," came the voice from behind, turning around, Haneul smiled, it was the only maid who had always stayed with her as they played together since young, Han Yeseul, "Are you alright? Did it felt cold sleeping there? Oh my, and the winter is coming soon."

"I am alright Yeseul. Thankfully I didn't freeze to death because of your help. But the blanket is still in the storage," Haneul said with a concern look and if her mother found out last night she was helped by her maid by given a blanket, her mother would lock her another time in the storage room, she thought.

"I have asked someone to take care of it, don't worry, my lady. Earlier, Lord Min Hyuk came," the girl said with a hidden excitement as Yeseul was well aware of Haneul's attraction to the man.

"I talked with him," Haneul said with eagerness, "He invited me to the hunting game. Mother would agree if I tell her I was invited by Min Hyuk."

"I'm happy for you, milady! I will make sure you have the most beautiful attire that day that would catch Lord Min Hyuk's attention!" said Han Yeseul, sharing a great excitement with her lady. "But milady, is it true that you have controlled your power?"

Haneul looked at the maid with a small smile, "Last evening I was just startled because mother brought up about suitors who wants to marry me. I think my emotion of fear or surprise must have triggered it. But I will be careful from now on."

Han Yeseul worked as a maid in the house, but her loyalty fell only for Haneul, her lady. She nodded, keeping the secret to herself as she always did, and said, "Should I change your clothes, Lady?"

"Please," Haneul replied, standing from her seat, her mind sunk about her mother's discussion during supper about suitors.. She was flattered that many men liked her but not entirely happy and delighted as her heart loved Min Hyuk and only him.
