Chapter 231 - Eyes On Him-III

The car stopped at Wole Company early and although Seoyeon had said she would use Bus, Jung Hwa didn't give her the opportunity. Being the first one to walk down from the door, Seoyeon pulled a small compact mirror from her pocket. She looked at her own reflection, fixing her hair and to check if her face was still flushed.

After their kiss on the hallway, on the way to the company, Seoyeon saw her own reflection to watch her flushed face. Closing her compact mirror, at the same time she saw someone very recognizable standing in front of the company.

It was the same half vampire who she had seen before with glasses settling on his nose bridge. Beside him, Seoyeon also noted the few men dressed in black. Seoyeon could have tell that she had seen two out of the six people standing beside the first man.

Deok Jihyeang turned his head when noticing presence of people coming and he saw Seoyeon before her figure faded out as his focus turn to Jung Hwa who stepped out from the car.

Seoyeon also noticed the vampire's eyes left from her and turned at Jung Hwa. Somewhere, seeing the people, Seoyeon didn't feel that something great was going to happen. "Do you have work with the Associates today?" Because they seemed to have been waiting for him.

"I don't." replied Jung Hwa and she saw him holding an expression that was serious, making her to feel more unsettled.

Jung Hwa also wondered why the Associate would come to his company early in the morning but he was not surprised. It was not because he expected the people to come but because ha ha nothing to feel guilty about.

"It seems like something interesting is going to happen," said Jung Hwa, sounding amused and Seoyeon raised her brows.

Was there something amusing in having the Associates to his company? There was the expression on the people in the room who seemed to be stern and filled with judgment. Their expression was similar to how a person would look at a thief and this gaze was directed at Jung Hwa that had Seoyeon to feel worried.

They walked closer to where Deok Ji Hyeang was standing. The man pushed the rim of his eyeglasses before exhaling a breath, "Associate Jung," started the man, the tone to call Jung Hwa's name was strict and Seoyeon asked herself if the man called Jung Hwa by his surname before. "You are currently under the suspicion of killing Chu Sunji. Please follow us to the Associate without a struggle. I cannot promise what would happen if you do not follow to our term."

Seoyeon's eyes were wide at what she heard, her heartbeat picked a race in worry and concern that Jung Hwa could tell. His smile didn't leave and was deeply etched on his lips, "Okay," he said to Seoyeon's surprise. "But before that I want to know what makes me the suspect."

Suspect? Seoyeon wondered when this happened. Her palms turn sweaty when she thought Jung Hwa would be taken away. Seoyeon saw Deok Ji Hyeang sighing again. Perhaps it's as not everyday that the person suspected under a killing would be as leisure as Jung Hwa was, after being told they had been suspected as a killer.

"It's Che Hara, she made a witness statement for seeing you in action to kill Chu Sunji," Deok Ji Hyeang said, and the name turned Seoyeon to be more surprised. "You can explain the rest at the headquarter. All your words could act as prove, put mind in what you say."

"Hm," was only what Jung Hwa replied when hearing Che Hara become the one to give the witness statement. He then smiled and said, "I've always done that." Pulling something from his pocket, he tossed the key of his car to the vallet who was standing near the entrance. "Do you want to come with me, Seoyeon? Or would you rather like to stay?" Jung Hwa gave her a choice as the Associate Building was dangerous. It didn't mean he couldn't protect her but he like it better when Seoyeon make decision.

"I will come with you." Seoyeon could not leave Jung Hwa when he was accused and her heart was feeling weary.

The simple words had Jung Hwa's smile to turn wider. From there, they left to the Associate's Building. This was the second time Seoyeon would be visiting to the Associate and she didn't feel any excitement in going to the place filled with vampires. The problem she felt was not the vampires.

Seoyeon had a thought that even if vampires need blood to live, they were somewhere similar to humans. Like her, they also have feelings. Although she couldn't deny noticing the world of vampires were crueler as death was everywhere.

But death has always been everywhere.

She sat on the front seat while Jung Hwa was placed on the seat behind where the opening between second seat was covered with grill bars and he sat there with a casual look. It was certain to Seoyeon now that Jung Hwa didn't feel himself being in the pickle and on behalf of him, Seoyeon was worried to the point her heartbeat was loud.

Did Jung Hwa really killed the vampire? she asked herself, wanting to question Jung Hwa but in the position where he had to speak loud, the content of their conversation would be loud for everyone to hear and she didn't want that.

"You can ask me," said the half vampire named Deok Ji Hyeang. His voice was soft but it didn't fail to make Seoyeon's poor heart to flip inside out of surprised.

"Ask about what?" Now she had a doubt vampires could read mind.

"Why Hwa is being captured, I thought you were his..." the man seemed to be searching for the right words and Seoyeon want to help him but she also found herself wondering what noun she would give between them. "Companion," said Deok Ji Hyeang after some times. "A question is welcome, a confession too," he added belatedly.

"Confession?" questioned Seoyeon because she had nothing to confess about but the man had said it in a way that make her feel that she had hide something.

"Che Hara confessed to have seen the half vampire named Chu Sunji killed by Jung Hwa," while speaking, Deok Ji Hyeang pulled the pictures from his pocket, placing it over to Seoyeon with the back of the picture facing her. "You can choose not to see if you want to. There is picture of the vampire formally mentioned, and how he died. The scene is quite gory with the vampire's heart taken out." Deok Ji Hyeang tapped his own heart. "He was found buried near the cemetery of the Associate headquarter bulking. Maybe you would like to confess that you have also seen Hwa engage to kill the vampire?"

The words had Seoyeon to pull her brows tightly. Did this man also suspect Jung Hwa to kill the vampire? "There is no way Hwa would kill anyone." She lied but Seoyeon didn't let the lie to go through her expression. She didn't believe Jung Hwa wouldn't kill anyone because she knows of Jung Hwa's temper. But no stupid person would bury the body in the Associate if they were a member of an associate themselves.

"You trust him," murmured Deok Ji Hyeang and as Seoyeon heard him say, she replied.

"I do. I don't see the reason not to." Her hand then took the pictures, taking breaths before opening the picture. If Seoyeon took count of how many times she had seen bodies along the way to this point there would be more than a handful. It was not easy to get use to see bloody scenes that could give one nightmare, but somewhere Seoyeon didn't find it hard to cope with seeing gore deaths. Was it because she had the blood of a witch?

Seoyeon turned her eyes to the back, seeing Jung Hwa and when their eyes met his smile widened. She really want to ask from the place he was sitting at how could he be carefree at this point. Unlike him, she was mountain more worried with the situation.

Turning the picture, Seoyeon saw Chu Sunji's body buried under the ground. There was a hole on his chest wide enough to show that his heart was taken out. Seoyeon didn't want to stare at the picture for long but the face of the vampire settled in her mind like a puzzle.

Somewhere she felt to have seen the face of the man before. But where? Seoyeon questioned in her mind before she realized the man was the same vampire whose hand had been broken by Jung Hwa.

This is not good, thought Seoyeon. They had started at the wrong foot with a fight.. If anyone know which she knows someone Deok Ji Hyeang was present there at the time and witness the scene, they would think that their fight stemmed to something worse and Jung Hwa had killed the vampire out of hatred an anger.
