Chapter 195 - Suspicions-II

The silence grew and Seojun was finding his time to dig dirt and muds from Jung Hwa. A human man is one thing and a pureblood is a different thing. He can still accept human to be with Seoyeon but not pureblood. Not only because the man was a vampire but with Seoyeon's origin which was a catalyst, staying with pureblood vampire could pull back to her root and Seojun can't have that happen.

The closer Seoyeon become one with the catalyst, the world would turn to chaos and his parents and him had tried many things to prevent this from happening.

"What do you work as, Jung Hwa?" questioned Seojun who stopped eating to ask. His eyes vigilantly watch the pureblood while being conscious of the dagger he brought in case the events would turn to a fight.

"I'm a boss of my company," replied Jung Hwa, knowing that the man across him didn't ask out of curiosity. "Seoyeon work there as my secretary. I guess you don't know it yet."

"I don't think my sister's boss will come to our family's conversation when we talk. It's normal for me to never know you. This is our first time meeting each other," added Seojun subtly while focusing on his food again.

"Yes our first time meeting each other," agreed Jung Hwa, "But we seem to get along well and I am sure it would continue like this even in the future. I have no more worries after seeing Seoyeon's one and only family left is a person with an open mind."

Seoyeon nearly choked while drinking water that went to the wrong side. She coughed, and saw a handkerchief passed from Jung Hwa's hands. Taking it she wiped her mouth with her eyes defiant. He had broke the promise he made a few minutes ago!

Seojun's hand stopped, his eyes moved at Jung Hwa where a different expression had taken upon. A look of coldness appeared as he stared at Jung Hwa before he pulled the smile that faltered, "Whose future are you talking of, yours or..." He left his words hanging for the pureblood to fill.

"Ours," Jung Hwa said and Seoyeon who sat beside him want to put her hands on his lips to stop him from spouting any more nonsense. Can't he be quite for a moment? "We are not going to die now so of course it would be ours future."

"I thought you were saying that you are weaving your way to have future with my sister," said Seojun with an expression composed as if he wasn't thinking too deep over Jung Hwa's words but his hand that had left the table settled on the daggers.

"That well, weaving is truly a good word but I prefer super glue, nails, or maybe pour a hot aluminum liquid and wait it to harden. Something that wouldn't break sounds good isn't it? Like what is under the table," Jung Hwa pointed knowing how Seojun had pulled a dagger. Seoyeon couldn't follow what they were talking of any longer.

"Lets continue to eat," Seoyeon resumed, quickly placing more food on Seojun's plate to keep him busy before she moved her eyes at Jung Hwa and his brows furrowed. Holding to her lips tight, she speak in a lower tone, not wanting Seojun to hear, "What are you doing? I thought you promised me not to do anything."

"I promised not to touch or insinuate fight and we are not fighting. If we do..." Jung Hwa took one piece of meat that was the largest to her plate. "I won't continue my words because I know you got the meaning already," he said after taking her furrowed brows that pulled deeper. "Don't worry your little brother is like my own little brother and you know how I am, I love my family dearly enough that I could do anything for them."

On his words, a certain memory replayed in Seoyeon's mind. She went back thinking about his family. Like Jung Hwa said he is a person who loves and treasure his family. His warmth for his family speaks loud when he always protect her everywhere and every time she needed who was not even his family.

She had to ask him but she can't with Seojun here.

She continued to eat with her eyes on the plate and somewhere Jung Hwa noticed this. Once would be normal but it was clear how Seoyeon was in her own mind, resolving something that was weighing her which he doesn't know.

Jung Hwa didn't want to corner her but it wasn't to his liking to see Seoyeon in clouds while his time with her here in the house was short. He could forcefully pull her attention right now at this moment but he had promised her.

"You are living alone here, Mr. Jung?" asked Seojun putting another conversation as he ate.

"Big house, right?" Seoyeon chirped, trying to have the ground wet and cold not hot or dry.

Seojun had come here before and he could hardly be impressed by the house that was twinkling to every corner as the owner of the house was Jung Hwa. "Hm, it is just a bit lonely," whispered Jung Hwa, placing one peas and another to his plate.

"What is there to be lonely when I have new guests now, I could accommodate one more person to fit in the house, all rooms are open," saying this, Jung Hwa's eyes went to look at Seoyeon, pointing the words.

"Yes, you should get marry early. No my place to say that you have taken care of my sister here but a man and woman alone in one apartment regardless of not staying in one room, it is not appropriate," Seojun didn't care what card he has to use but his sister has to leave. "It would be best if you could go home now, sister."

"Like I said, I can go home with some problems being unsettled there and that's not how you should speak to him Seojun. He has saved many times," Seoyeon scolded. Truthfully she felt bitter when her little brother told Jung Hwa to get married. She felt unsettled and didn't want the conversation to dwell any longer about marriage and whatsoever.

"Okay," Seojun pouted his lips. He wanted his sister to see Jung Hwa's true color but conversation is not enough he need some proof.

"You don't have to be sad, I can understand where you are coming from as Seoyeon's one and only little brother," Jung Hwa raised his hand, seeming as if he was wise. Seojun caught the corner of his lips twisting to a smug smile and glared in anger.

"I am going to the washroom," saying this, Seojun got up, pushing the chair to screech behind him.

"It's on the third right after taking that left side," explained Jung Hwa by pointing his finger.

Seojun put the napkin down, eyes still against Jung Hwa before he looks at Seoyeon who ask, "Should I show you where it is? It's easy to get lost here the place is almost like a maze."

"I will be fine," Seojun smiled sweetly.

"No need to hold back, little brother," chided Jung Hwa, biding his smile that was hard to keep down with the little brother's easily angered attitude that only created more opportunity for him to twist and trap him.

"No thank you I know the way even without you telling me." and he turned to leave, following Jung Hwa's words by taking the left side and disappeared soon after

"That fiery little guy," remarked Jung Hwa shrugging his shoulders to then see Seoyeon giving him a look. "I didn't initiate a fight but if your brother did that wouldn't be my fault, is it?"

"Don't even try," threatened Seoyeon who had stopped eating, her eyes instead of being intimidating became adorably threatening to him. "You know that he is a human right? If you fight with him and get physical..."

"I am not," he chuckled at her, continuing to eat casually despite not needing anything. "Do you think I don't know what you did earlier?"

"What did I do?" Seoyeon curiously asked him with her head slightly tilting. Did she do anything without her own knowing?

"Getting angry to your brother," he placed the cutlery set beside the plate, his eyes turning to look at her as they had spoke without looking at each other earlier. "I can tell that only a pinch of your scolding was because he treated me impolitely. Another I suspect because you are not happy when he brought marriage talk to the dining table."

Seoyeon was the first one to avoid looking at his eyes and she pursed her lips. there were words she want to say but at the moment Jung Hwa revealed what she hid inside her heart, a loud thundering sound of her heartbeat covered her ears, making her feel embarrassed.

"I..." Seoyeon drawled to the furrowed her brows, "If I answer you will be able to tell if I am lying or not."

"So you were about to lie to me." Jung Hwa leaned back, resting his back to have Seoyeon somewhere relieved thinking that he wouldn't press her again when she felt her chair turned.

Jung Hwa had settled his leg on one of the chair's leg and he managed to effortlessly turn it smoothly as if there was no one sitting on it. Out of surprise, Seoyeon gripped tight her hands on the armrest. Her heart having another reason for being loud after the sudden movement. "Look at me. You have such beautiful eyes that alway fiesty which I love." He dropped his tone, his smile turning softer but somewhere the softer his smile, something that lurked under him crept higher.

"Was it something that you have to lie to me?"
