Chapter 191 - Doubt Seeding-I

Alfred went only to came back in less than a few minutes to where Seoyeon was. The half vampire sighed internally and his expression said all his emotions when Seoyeon met him again on her way to her room.

"Master Hwa calls for you," announced Alfred and somewhere Seoyeon could tell this was going to happen.

Leaving the place they then went toward the room that was still closed and from outside Seoyeon could hear how the conversation goes. Alfred nodded at her with his hand stretching to the door as if to tell Seoyeon to enter before he left shortly to fetch drink.

"I thought it would be messy but not as much," commented aunt Valerie and her voice reached outside as the door wasn't closed well.

It was not messy because they don't do anything, thought Seoyeon to herself. Aunt Valerie was being sarcastic and she seems to know how Jung Hwa doesn't like her. Why should she push herself to get along with Jung Hwa then? Was it because of Jung Hwa's late mother's request?

"Perhaps our definition of messy or neat is different, and our definition of bothering and being bothersome too." In any seconds, Jung Hwa fired off words that didn't fail to make the air awkward.

Seoyeon didn't know when to enter. It was unnerving to come at the wrong time but then she could guess that Jung Hwa could hear her standing in front of the door. After knocking a few times, she entered to receive a look from Aunt Valerie that question why she was here.

"I don't want to be separated with her," Jung Hwa said as if he knew what was going on inside the older vampiress' head. Seoyeon didn't comment, taking seat beside Jung Hwa as it was the only seat she knew it was safe.

"Don't take too fond of humans Hwa, you remember how the previous one dies fast before it could even get old," commented Aunt Valerie whose eyes were still on Seoyeon before she throw her gaze, a look of displease continue to stay on her face as the human girl had to linger in the room where she was talking in.

Seoyeon wanted to frown but she decided to do it internally. Aunt Valerie had called humans using the term 'it'. It didn't seem like she thought humans of an importance or maybe worse just source of food like animals. She shifted her gaze on Jung Hwa, wondering who she meant by the 'previous one'.

Jung Hwa chuckled, looking relaxed to notice who Seoyeon's eyes stayed on. "There are ways not to make her dies, aren't it? I'm not careless enough to let what I have taken interest to from my sight. No one place their treasure out of sight."

Seoyeon felt his hand took hers and she didn't know when he had moved slowly. Her heart felt warm again with his words and she had to keep her eyes somewhere else after realizing how much she had stared on him. When turning her gaze around, she saw Valerie smiling as if in pity with a huff.

"Treasure is to be taken by others," remarked the woman in spite. "Humans are fragile one strike is all it takes to kill them."

"I don't think there are many beings who could not die despite being strike in their vital points, humans or vampires included," said Seoyeon who was unable to keep silence with how the woman who had spoke as if wanting to kill her on the first few minutes of their meetings.

The displeasure set on Valerie's face worsen on the human who chided on her words. She knew how humans would get over nine clouds after thinking they are better than others. But to think that she is better than her, a vampiress, was even more stupid that Valerie couldn't stand her. "You are young that you might think you know about vampires but we are very different, girl. One struck on your neck would kill you but not us."

"I didn't mean a struck on the neck or stomach but heart. When a vampire lose their heart they would die, isn't it so?" Seoyeon questioned back and she saw her words took effect to make the woman left speechless while her eyes glaring at her. Seoyeon could tell since their second time meeting on the entrance today they weren't going to speak in a friendly term but Seoyeon wasn't going to let anyone step on her either.

The air of the room was tense with Seoyeon having a cool expression to the angered vampiress.

Their gazes break when Jung Hwa clapped his hands. He pulled one hand to cover his lips and Seoyeon who sat on his right side could see how his lips were stretched wide witch cockiness. Jung Hwa could express how much he admired the courage Seoyeon had to speak back to his aunt.

"Clever isn't she?" Jung Hwa pulled his hands that was holding her hands to the surface of the table.

"She is foolish," argued Valerie. If Jung Hwa was not holding the human girl's hand to show the extent of liking Jung Hwa took on her, Valerie would have pierce her hand on the human girl's heart and took her heart out to show the words she daringly said earlier against her.

"Why is she foolish? She said the truth as not all vampires could still stay alive after having their heart taken out," Jung Hwa felt Seoyeon trying to release her hand from him, catching the sight of her ears turning bright red in embarrassment. It took her a few minutes to be reminded again of how strong Jung Hwa was and she had no choice but to let her hand captured.

At the same time Alfred entered the room, his eyes met Seoyeon's and he keep a hidden smile that only she could tell. Seoyeon could tell that the smile Alfred gave was to encourage her who was staying in the room without feeling pressure. But the air was thick with the woman's intention that want to kill her that she doubt she could stay in the room for another ten minutes. Seoyeon hope Valerie would get what she want for the sole reason so she would leave the place sooner.

Jung Hwa stretched his hand to the cups on the table, "Have a drink Auntie, so you could speak of what you need and leave sooner."

Seoyeon who heard him speak agreed. It seemed that Jung Hwa also have the same exact thought as her.

Valerie didn't take Jung Hwa's words as an offense. Taking the cup, she placed it down to then say, "We need your help, your cousin sister I mean."

"What kind of help?" Jung Hwa brought one cup to place it over Seoyeon's hand before taking his own.

"She is finding a man she has interest in and wants your help to give a bridge between them for her to cross, so the ship could sail," explained Valerie.

"If she wants a help she should come here and show her face that would be more sincere and maybe one step for her to be more likable by the man she likes too. No men loves insincere women." Seoyeon wondered why does they have to ask Jung Hwa's help.

"Barbara wish that she could come here but today's there was something urgent she has to attend." Valerie covered for her dear daughter, not wanting Jung Hwa to look down on Barbara.

"Urgent," repeated Jung Hwa with a hint of sarcasm. "She should put an effort to know the man himself and start by pursuing the man with every chances she has. If I was the one to pursue the man, that would make me be the one who is interested in him."

"You know how Barbara is shy and she hopes you to put some good words between them. If it is you, the person will believe in your words," continued Mrs. Valerie unashamed with her own lies.

Was Barbara a shy person? Seoyeon had seen a shy person before and compared to them, Barbara was a very confident young vampiress.

Jung Hwa laughed his lips pulling again, "It's as if you are saying that your words are untrustworthy."

Valerie's smile twitched and she quickly put on her smile that fell. "You really love to joke. Of course that is not how it is and I know you know."

Jung Hwa hummed and his brows raised, "So who is the lucky guy?"

"It is Gu Manyeong," replied Mrs. Valerie for Jung Hwa's already raised brows to lift higher. The world was small and Jung Hwa knew that vampire's society was even smaller but for the name of man he saw a few hours ago to come to the table now makes him want to laugh.

"I thought Barbara would like to have a pureblood husband, just like you auntie," He replied and Seoyeon who had heard about the class difference and how Jung Hwa's aunt want to have a stronger pureblood line, could tell that the vampire named Gu Manyeong wasn't a pureblood. Knowing how Mrs.. Valerie had worked hard to marry a pureblood, this had Seoyeon to question her words in her mind.
