Chapter 185 - Hand Through Chest-I

Jung Hwa took more look at the body, without being noticed by others a smile creep on his lips. He had thought soon Chu Sunji would do something worth for him to be the one to kill the vampire but luck had dimmed on him that he died now. To top, he died on the hand of a woman. For a man as prideful as Chu Sunji it must have been a very surprising death.

After a while, Yu Sheen came back with two men. Jung Hwa applaud the half vampire for being competent enough to bring the people at ten minute but still he was lacking. "Associate Jung, this is the caretaker of the graveyard and-"

"The guard," Jung Hwa filled the words Yu Sheen left on, "Did you see anyone late at night? Both of you. Around the time of nine or eleven."

The caretaker spoke first, "I didn't see anyone in particular coming to the graveyard, I live there sir," the man pointed a small hut on the corner of the wall which was near the graveyard. "I would have taken a note if someone came later at night but I didn't. I slept around twelve," added the man, not knowing if it is important or not.

"What about you," Jung Hwa turned his face at the guard.

"There were not many people that came. I saw Mr. Chu entered the building alone but," the guard hesitated under Jung Hwa's eyes and when Jung Hwa tipped his chin, the man continued, "He was having a large trunk with him."

Large trunk? questioned Jung Hwa in his mind. Unless Chu Sunji planned to spend a night in the Associates building like a homeless, it was hard to guess why he would bring a trunk. "Do you know what is inside?"

"I don't know for sure..." the guard put his hand on his chin, "but I remember asking Mr. Chu what was inside the trunk because he seemed to be having a very hard time pulling it and he replied to me that it was a books."

"Yu Sheen, did anyone find a lost trunk?" Jung Hwa questioned the half vampire whose face was lined with questions.

"No, sir! I didn't find anything of sort, but I should go and check it," offered Yu Sheen and at the same time, Mrs. Chu had come back to take her son's body.

"I will go there myself," Jung Hwa announced but before he left the spot he questioned the guard again, "Did you see any woman entering at night?"

"Woman? I believe there is none. Not many woman have the access to enter the Associates' building unless it is a party," the man added a few words of his own. The Associates building lurks only men at most of the time because they believe women don't have what it takes to be come an Associate member. Jung Hwa didn't think so as he had seen women capable enough to find clues from details that most men failed to perceive.

Jung Hwa then went toward Mrs. Chu, offering a bow, "I pray so that Sunji would have a better life out there," a hint of pity came on his voice.

"Please find the killer," sobbed Mrs. Chu whose words only came in anger. More than sad, the woman's anger was deeper to the point Jung Hwa could tell Gu Manyeong's hand was bruised after the vampiress' strong grip. He was curious of the family's dynamic as to him it didn't seem like Gu Manyeong was having a just life. "I know that my son would not rest in peace while knowing the killer is out loose."

"I will use whatever I have to find the killer. If I may ask, Mrs. Chu do you know if there is any woman Sunji fancy? Or maybe the otherwise." He dropped the question and watched Mrs. Chu thinking.

"I don't think there is but recently he made a friend. With the vampiress named Che Hara. May I ask why did you ask for?" Mrs. Chu inquired curiously and somewhere a doubt sprouted in her heart that the killer could be the vampiress which was impossible as the vampiress was a gentle and kind lady to the older vampiress' eyes.

"I remembered Sunji told me about taking fancy to a girl. I pity her if she heard the news," with the words, Jung Hwa then left the place to enter the building, leaving Deok Ji Hyeang who stayed with the family. While entering the building with Yu Sheen, almost all eyes were on Jung Hwa.

Yu Sheen, who was never on the limelight felt uncomfortable with the many eyes on him just because he walked side by side with the pureblood vampire. Taking one step back, Yu Sheen who had a smaller and shorter figure than Jung Hwa thought to hide behind him when Jung Hwa tched loud enough for the half vampire to stop on his step.

"It's not everyday you will be showered with attention by others. While you are at it, why not enjoy it?" The words were directed at Yu Sheen without looking at the half vampire's expression.

How could he enjoy this! "Associate Jung, do you know why you are being stared at?" asked Yu Sheen carefully.

"Dare to ask me, tsk, these days you are getting cocky aren't you?" Yu Sheen was left tongue tied by Jung Hwa's words, "They must have think I am Sunji's killer because of the friction we had before. Because I broke his finger," said Jung Hwa without a hint of care on his words.

"They don't know that if I am the killer I wouldn't bury the body but hang it in front of the gates. Did they expect me to do a sloppy job like that?" In anyway if anyone point a finger on him, Jung Hwa has plenty of allegation that could prove him blameless.

Was that a good thing to be proud of? inquired Yu Sheen in his mind. For sure to his death, he wouldn't be able to follow the pureblood's line of thought.

They both walked to the second floor and when Jung Hwa was about to walk straight he heard a footsteps from behind that was following him and turned to see the man with the slightly long hair.

"Associate Jung," called Min Beomgyu who then bowed to greet Yu Sheen as the half vampire did first out of politeness. "There is something I would like to speak with you," Min Beomgyu's eyes then trailed at Yu Sheen, "It is a very important talk I hope we could discuss privately."

Jung Hwa could tell the white witch seemed to have been searching for a long time around the building maybe after he heard of his arrival. Jung Hwa slanted his face toward Yu Sheen slightly, "Go and search for the trunk and anyone who could possibilities find a trunk in the building. I will come later." Yu Sheen was somewhat grateful he could move alone and immediately left the place.

"What is it white witch?" questioned Jung Hwa with not an impressed expression on his face. "I thought by now you would pack your belonging and move to a secluded place because you don't know when I will do anything?"

"I believe you wouldn't with Seoyeon," replied Min Beomgyu with courage and he saw precisely how Jung Hwa's expression changed in the mention of Seoyeon. It was true that the pureblood vampire who didn't care about others were particularly different to Seoyeon alone.

"Speak," demanded Jung Hwa. He may have learned that dark witches could be his mother's killer but that doesn't mean he would easily believe white witches. Their characteristic or not, he knew better that even the kindest could kill.

To Jung Hwa there was no one he believe other than himself not even his family and it changed with Seoyeon but it didn't mean he would believe others. Seoyeon was simply a special person.

"There was a sign of breakthrough in the building," a worried expression took place on Min Beomgyu's face.

"You could tell the Head of Associate not me about this case," replied Jung Hwa with his eyes narrowing to see how Min Beomgyu shook his head.

The white witch spoke, "For a precaution I placed a potion of mine on the door knob of almost all room of this building," seeing Jung Hwa's brows raised, he continued, "It will not harm vampires the slightest. It is one of my fear that one day dark witches would come to me. As most of white witches are often chased by dark witches to kill or force to help them. Taking my own safety in consideration I placed this potion that work against dark witches. If they touch the door knob, their hands would be burn."

Min Beomgyu's eyes squinted in agitation, "A few days ago I found one of the knob having traces of a burnt skin that belonged to a dark witch.. They entered the building," added the white witch.
