Chapter 144 - Taking Belongings-II

Having no single good memory inside the building had Seoyeon not wanting to enter. It happened years ago but the traumatic events she experienced since childhood still frightened her to the point where her legs were hesitant to move.

"Does the orphanage look the same as before?" asked Jung Hwa. Seeing that Seoyeon didn't move he didn't either. He stood along with her, jamming one hand to his trouser pocket while his eyes stayed at her like he always did.

"From outside I guess it did, only a few thing is gone like the old storage room." answered Seoyeon and she felt relieved, "The caretakers must have put a stop in locking the children to a room."

Jung Hwa hummed from the words he could tell Seoyeon was speaking of his experience. "Let's go." He instructed with his hand wrapping to her palm to bring her away from the front yard to the entrance.

When they reached by the entrance, Seoyeon saw the door was locked after being pushed that didn't open. She then wondered if Jung Hwa would once again kicked the door open or shatter the door with his power when a sound of click come. The door moved behind slowly, suddenly opened when their hands weren't on the knob.

Seoyeon was still staring at the knob in wonder when Jung Hwa had marched forward. Questions popped in her mind. Did he use magic tricks?

Seoyeon quickly followed Jung Hwa, not wanting to be left alone and she asked, "Hwa, how did you do that?"

"Do what?" Jung Hwa's eyes shifted at the door and he grinned, "Oh that, I just opened it."

"I know that you-" started Seoyeon when she bumped into his back as the pureblood stopped suddenly on his track. "What's wrong?" asked Seoyeon curiously, taking a step back she stood beside him to seize the gleeful expression on his face.

"I found you. You look so adorable." It was dark and the picture which was hanged on the wall was old but being a pureblood vampire with one highest perk of seeing sense in the dark, Jung Hwa could find the little girl with black hair in one of the picture.

Seoyeon didn't know what or who he praised to be adorable. In the dark, she managed to see Jung Hwa's face and where he looked at with the help of the moonlight that went through the windows around them.

If Seoyeon tried her hardest she could see the picture hanged there and a group of people taking pictures together at the front yard, however as for the details, she wasn't able to see. "Is that me?" asked Seoyeon curiously, she didn't recall how she looked in the past.

Jung Hwa looked down, meeting her eyes, "Yes. There isn't any child more adorable than you in this world and as for me, I'm the most handsome child in the past. Of course let's not forget that our children would be the gorgeous ones."

With Jung Hwa kept on whispering beside her ears about child and their child had Seoyeon's heart spiked again. Jung Hwa's lips twist. He reached out his hand pulling the picture frame to place it inside his pocket.

"Wait, are you going to bring that?" asked Seoyeon, watching Jung Hwa had walked pass her.

"Why not? It's not theirs anyway that your face is here." Jung Hwa said to her and Seoyeon wondered if this count as stealing? But then again to steal from the damnable place didn't seem to be too bad she thought. Also, Jung Hwa's words did make a point in her mind.

Seoyeon continued to walk two to three steps when her eyes stopped at the wall but paid more attention to the picture that was hanged high near the ceiling. Watching the picture, Seoyeon narrowed her eyes. It was a picture of the headmaster's orphanage and she learned it by the writing placed above the hanged portrait. She looked at the picture that was placed the last which correspond to the current headmaster.

Noticing Seoyeon's heartbeat beat in a different rhythm, Jung Hwa stopped his feet to walk toward her. "Is there any problem, sweetie?" He saw Seoyeon looking at the headmaster's portrait, the latest one to hear her say,

"It's him." Jung Hwa gathered his eyes at her, watching how her loose fist clenched tight. Seoyeon continued, "He was the person who locked me in the storage room." But that wasn't all. The man had starve her, neglected her, abuse her with his words, and worse Seoyeon remember how he often touched her inappropriately.

"It doesn't seem like that is all he did. What else?" Jung Hwa fished her words, waiting for Seoyeon to reply.

Seoyeon broke her gaze from the pictures, her eyes stopped to find and meet his eyes that were holding a red glint. Nothing could ever pass his eyes. His observations skill or perhaps it was his intuitive were always on point that some times Seoyeon felt as if she had been laid bare in front of him. When thinking how deep he actually know about her or her deepest secret, a pin of chill ran down her back, making Seoyeon to shudder at the thought.

"Starve me." she replied, it was in the past and she didn't feel embarrassed about it as she hadn't done anything wrong but it wasn't something she could blab easily.

"Continue," Jung Hwa pressed her and seeing her fidgety hands, he appeared in front of her just by a step, surprising Seoyeon but he stopped her by holding her waist.

"It happened in the past," Seoyeon said and her steps moved back, not wanting to fill him in the blanks for many reasons that she couldn't voice out for Jung Hwa to pull her closer.

"Doesn't seem like you have forget or forgive.." Jung Hwa said and his eyes dipped to the red color and this time, she watch how his red eyes turned deeper like the color of claret blood.
