Chapter 131 - Dying Thirst-III

Wan Seulgi saw how close her distance was with Doctor Lee and her cheeks continue to blush redder. Although Wan Seulgi had been in many relationships in her past, she had never been in a serious relationship. When she thought she had found a man she could be serious with, in the end, she was betrayed which was why seeing Doctor Lee now felt different to her.

The time she spends with Doctor Lee was short. They have met each other only for about more than a week but Wan Seulgi could only find Doctor Lee's good points and she found herself had truly fallen for the doctor who had taken care of her.

"I am fine, it's getting better every day," answered Wan Seulgi, happy with the care given by the doctor even is it was only his work. With the man near her, she felt her heart fluttered and hope they would have a longer time together.

Doctor Lee's smiled and Wan Seulgi's smile widened where it was hard for Seulgi to stop her smile from reaching wide, "I see but it must be boring to stay in the hospital room for a very long time, without friends or family to talk to."

"They often came almost every day so I am not lonely or bored." How could she? asked Wan Seulgi to herself. Staying at the hospital was bad but not entirely with the presence of the doctor. They didn't meet every day but with her staying in the hospital, she could use this as an excuse to meet the doctor.

"What about you doctor?" asked Wan Seulgi with her hands on the bed quilt tightened at the hold. She pursed her lips when seeing Doctor Lee's questioning gaze and continue to reply, "I mean, you always stay at the hospital, won't your girlfriend feel lonely?"

Wan Seulgi's eyes went from the quilt she had stared at to the doctor. Doctor Lee was handsome from the side where she stared at him, thought Seulgi to herself, smitten at anything the doctor did. But her smile stopped now and her eyes stared close to read the man's expression with anticipation and hope.

Doctor Lee took a moment of silence before he smiled, "Unfortunately I am still single. So no one would be sad even if I am staying at the hospital for a long time." he replied, and then his eyes looked up at her, "Would you feel lonely if your boyfriend is a doctor who stayed in the hospital for a long time?"

On the question, Wan Seulgi's heart fluttered. Was the question Doctor Lee gave was a green light for her to advance her love? Imagining if Doctor Lee became her boyfriend and he had to work for days in the hospital, Wan Seulgi immediately shook her head first as her reply, "No. I believe it is his job and as his girlfriend, I would want to support him in any way I could."

Doctor Lee chuckled softly, his eyes curved and Wan Seulgi took note on how he had dimples showing when his lips were stretched and it was adorable to her, "I am glad that you think so."

"You are glad?" Wan Seulgi whispered his words, repeating in astonishment that he was glad she thought so.

Doctor Lee didn't elaborate more on his words and he continued, "Not many support the career of doctors. My family, they don't think I am suitable to be a doctor either."

It wasn't every day that Wan Seulgi could speak with the doctor closely and ask his private matters. She didn't know to what point she should not ask but her eagerness to know more about the doctor had her questioning, "Why do your family didn't support you? You are a great doctor." she added to see how Doctor Lee's eyes that were slightly grayish looking down at her hands.

"They wish for me to accomplish their achievements." The doctor replied and a sense of sullen came and Wan Seulgi felt herself affected by the man's emotions. "They want me to continue the family business but I have no desire to do so. They are still opposed to me until this day. My older brother told me that I am not suit to this job that goes against my nature."

Nature? questioned Wan Seulgi in her mind but she didn't paid much attention at the words. Reaching out her hand, Wan Seulgi carefully took the hand of the man, holding it and when Doctor Lee's head lifted up at her he saw her smile stayed on her lips that faded from color, "I know better than anyone as your patience that you a great doctor, Mr. Lee. I was afraid before in the hospital room but you can and had a talk with me that I don't think anyone these days would do every day to make me feel okay."

Wan Seulgi felt her heart ache when she saw Doctor Lee's eyes grew sad and she couldn't let him sank down to the emotions. Doctor Lee's family were all blind, thought Wan Seulgi. She wondered how they couldn't see the man's kindness and greatness as a doctor when they were his family?

"Really?" came the question spoke by Doctor Lee and Wan Seulgi brought her head up and down.

"Yes! The children in the hospital always told me that there is no doctor better than you!" She chimed, "It's a secret but actually most patients in the hospital voted for you for being the best doctor. You should take pride at it and when you meet your family, you should tell them about this."

Doctor Lee stared at Wan Seulgi's face for a long minute and he whispered, "I should do so. Thank you, Ms. Wan. This is the best compliment I have ever received." The man smiled to then add, "As I thought you are a good woman." The praise had Wan Seulgi swoon internally and squeal but the girl didn't showed it well on her face out of shyness.

"Oh look at the time, I should go now." said Doctor Lee, standing up from his seat, his long white robe fell straight. "I hope you will feel better soon."

"Yes and thank you for the wish," replied Wan Seulgi. Once the doctor left, she turned her face to the pillow, burying it and start to laugh but the laugh was short-lived as suddenly the thirst she felt had died down made her suffer again.

In her mind, she remembered the doctor whose neck was long and pale. Thinking about it the skin, Wan Seulgi felt her teeth ache, an attack of thirst and hunger made her suffer. She felt like as if she had stayed on the desert for days without water or food. Her stomach was full yet somewhere she felt very hungry to the point where it was painful for her as if she was about to die from the thirst and hunger.

Meanwhile, Doctor Lee, who had stepped out of the room, walk with a smile staying before it fell slowly. He walked around the corridor of the hospital as it was late there were less people there but on the way, he met a tall man who was considerably taller than him and a woman beside the man. Seeing the woman, Doctor Lee remembered who it was and he smiled to greet Seoyeon who had passed by the man.

When Seoyeon returned the greeting with a smile, she saw that the doctor had left and didn't know if the man had seen her smile.
