Chapter 107 - The Glimpse-III

Was that the reason why Jung Hwa because in a bad term with Mrs. Valerie then? If Mrs. Valerie was Jung Hwa's mother half sister, that would mean Barbara would have a blood connection with Jung Hwa. Then was the jealousy Seoyeon noticed from Barbara was a sibling's jealousy? Seoyeon recalled the expression that Barbara had to her which dropped in a split of second and doubted that be the case. It was clear when she recalled the expression that the young vampiress hated her.

To confirm her thought, Seoyeon asked the man who stood on her left, "Barbara seemed like a good girl, she is polite." she commented with her eyes at Jung Hwa, trying to read whatever expression he gave.

Jung Hwa chuckled, the girl must think that she was smart to ask him using the roundabout way trying to make so the conversation wouldn't turn awkward, "Yes she is, she also offered you blood. For a vampire to offer a glass of blood for a human, she must be polite." He pressed his words, sarcasm lacing on his words.

"She said she didn't know I'm a human," but Seoyeon doubted that now with the tone Jung Hwa used. Maybe she was correct?

"If a vampire can't differentiate between a vampire and a human, they must be defective. But Aunt Valerie herself is a defective vampiress, Barbara could be affected by her mother." He grinned and clicked his tongue to feign a sympathetic expression when in truth, he couldn't care less.

"Defective?" Han Seoyeon asked him, wondering what he meant.

"I love how you repeat my words every time, just like a cat meowing," Jung Hwa chuckled and Seoyeon looked at her with a blank look. Taking her expression with his eyes, he then explained, "Aunt Valerie is also pureblood vampires but unlike me, she fell to the thinner side of pureblood, making them slightly weaker. I remember how Aunt Valerie was dead set to find a pureblood to marry so she could strengthen her blood line."

Vampires were like humans thought Seoyeon. From how Mrs. Valerie wish to have herself a pureblood line means that she was worried of her own background. She could tell why Jung Hwa was considered special amongst all other. Purebloods for vampires were the greatest beings, the term that everyone want to him. But Seoyeon couldn't understand why, other than the title of pureblood what makes them special?

"Vampires are not very different from humans, Seoyeon. They covet the highest position, the greatest achievement, and wealth. Out here you can't believe anyone. They stay besides you only for the reason so they could take something from you and no exception."

"There must be someone good if you try to see harder," Seoyeon replied, she wish to be positive after hearing Jung Hwa's gloomy words. There was a part of her that find the side where Jung Hwa would speak in a stern manner to be out of place. He was someone who always have a smile on his lips. And by all means, Jung Hwa's smile wasn't one that could infect other with a smile but a smile filled with mischief. But he would smile every time, even when he was not in a good position or when he was fighting.

Then came this side of him, where he accepted the world to be ruthless and he was correct. The world wasn't a kind place for anyone and perhaps that was how he also felt. She wondered what could make him think the way he did now.

He then gave her a meaningful smile, "If you try hard, like how I find you." he confirmed and she found his smile had disappeared for his eyes to leave her and look far away with a silent expression.

"Why do you trust me then?" Seoyeon asked him with her eyes look at him clear. "We only met for less than a minute how could you know that I was for you and that I would not betray you? I am also a person. I could be like them. I have my shades."

Jung Hwa pushed his body from the wall with his leg and Seoyeon stepped back when she noticed him standing from the wall. She then felt him pulling her waist and his other hand pulling her arm to turn her body to the wall.

"You wondered why?" He repeated her question in a low voice. His face leaned forward and when their eyes met, Seoyeon felt her body shivered as if a cold wind had touched her in one second, "I honestly don't know." The reply surprised Seoyeon. She could tell by his voice his sincerity that confirmed her that he wasn't bluffing or teasing her again.

"You don't know?" But he claimed that he loved her...

Jung Hwa lips twist and his eyes turned redder by time passed, "Emotions are some times hard to perceive, Seoyeon. Love is different for each people and how they found the people they love to are different. However, I do find one special feeling when I saw you for the first time. That emotions I felt is love." His eyes stared at her and nod, "Yes, your eyes. It just had the magical spell that calling me in."

Seoyeon felt blood rushes to her mind, her heartbeat became uneven and she spoke, "That doesn't explain how you trust me."

"I don't do things in a half-hearted way, Seoyeon." He hummed with his fingers loosening from her wrist to stop at her fingers. "For me, if I have given my love to one person whatever you ask, I promise to give you. Even if it means my life."

His confession was unexpected to Seoyeon. She felt his words were hard to understand but at the same time, there was a part of her that felt she could understand what he meant.

"You mean you will die for me?" she asked for his confirmation and a challenge was all Jung Hwa could hear from her. He noticed there was a corner of Seoyeon's heart that couldn't believe in other, it wasn't because she didn't see him as an untrustworthy person. Seoyeon was someone who had stayed alone for years. She had protected herself and her brother by ironing her heart. To have Seoyeon walk from her own shell she used to protect herself would take time and Jung Hwa was patient enough to give her all the times she needed.

Although that patient was not his strongest skill he could be proud of.

He pushed her closer to the wall and inclined his head, "What do you want me to die for? That is oddly specfifc as if you ever thought of killing me." he drawled.

"It was a question." she replied, and hear him chuckle, the grin he always had always brewing with mischievous but now it felt tamed and collected.

"You haven't seen the best you could take from yet other than my life, I have plenty of plays that could satisfy you. In bedroom of course." He winked at her and his hand reached out at her, raising it slightly, "You are free to try."
