Chapter 93 - Gaze Of A Blade-II

Han Seoyeon's eyes were directed outside to the window of the car, her palms felt sweaty and her eyes couldn't help but trying to find anything that could perhaps take her mind away from being taken by the thought of going to the associates building.

When they had been far enough, her eyes then moved toward Jung Hwa. The pureblood hadn't said anything that made her drown deeper to the sea of nervousness. She stared at his face for a couple of minutes without stopping when she notice his face began to move and her eyes quickly turned away to the window on her left. A chuckle beamed to her lips, she turned her face at the man who had chuckled again, his lips were wide with happiness and she didn't know why he was happy.

"What's funny?" she asked, her black eyes looking at him was always trying to be courageous, a very adorable trait to Jung Hwa.

His smile set on his lips again, "You and your action, dear. You look nothing less than a cat who is trying bath for the first time." and as if he imagined her, the borderline dangerous imagination came to stay at his mind.

"I'm a human." Seoyeon reminded him with a protesting look in her eyes.

"Course you are sweetheart." He chuckled at her naivety. "Do you think I am blind that I couldn't differentiate between you and a cat?"

However wasn't it him who had been the one to call her cat? Seoyeon think it was better to be quiet because her heart was in the edge of a cliff.

"Are you afraid to go to the Associates?" he asked, his keen ears could pick up how her heartbeats were strained from uneasiness.

"Is there any human who wouldn't be afraid?" The tone of her voice were soft. She wasn't being sarcastic she had only wanted to know if there are any human other than her who had the 'honor' to visit the associates and as if Jung Hwa knew what she was thinking he replied,

"I don't know." He wasn't someone who would took a note of others and had only done it for her. Seoyeon parted her lips and was about to say oh when he added, "Most humans didn't have the honor to come. When the Associates came to pick them, they were too afraid and ran away." he stretched his tone, his eyes falling to her with a hint of wickedness. "After they ran away, the Associates hunt them. As for how they ended, you could try and make a guess."

Hunt wasn't the best word to use thought Seoyeon and she gulped. She didn't dare to make a guess to how those people was now which Jung Hwa notices. She wished she didn't ask him the question as it only made her more unsettled in her seat.

After a few second, she turned her eyes at him, "What would they do to me?" she asked. Many possible scenarios happened along her mind. With his vampires were often portrayed as cruel and ruthless when it come to handling humans' life in books and movies, it was hard to find herself a hope and assure net that nothing would threaten her life. But Seoyeon wasn't naive, she knew that if she did something wrong, she could be killed.

"They wouldn't do anything to you." His voice was dropped low, taking her off guard with the solemn expression that had taken over his face. She turned her face toward him and saw how his black eyes flickered with the red shadow hidden beneath his black pupils. "Did you forgot my words Seoyeon? It wasn't my intention to bring you to the vampires' society but what have been done is done. I was the one who brought you to my world and unlike your pretty little worlds where you stay under the sun, mine is bloody where light doesn't touch. It is a cruel world and I know you are frightened to enter such a world. But there shouldn't be anything for you to fear anymore. I am here and I will always protect you." He stated. His hair had fallen down to cover his sculpted face and at that point, Seoyeon felt as if she had been drowned by the fierce gaze he had toward her.

At the end of the day there wasn't anyone who was immune to Jung Hwa's charm. He was a handsome man and despite the sarcasm he spoke, there was an air of mystery surrounding him that had many to be pulled toward him. And when such a man use his sincerity to profess love and protect her every time she needed, she could feel her heart slowly being taken by him. Seoyeon felt her heart burned from the loud palpitation and thought that she needed to open the window as her body felt hot inside.

"But you wouldn't be able to stay with me forever." she reasoned and from her question, he could tell how she had thought further than she intended too.

With a wide smile of confidence, he promised, "I would be able to be by your side forever, Seoyeon. You just have to say the three magical words and forever until death do us apart."

"But you're a vampire." Seoyeon had planned not to say but the words slipped before she could think. "You have a longer life than mine or would you still be beside me even when I grow old with wrinkles and white hairs? At that time it wouldn't be impossible to for me to forget about you." Jung Hwa burst to a laugh, his chuckle made his smile wide and his sharp fangs to show from the corner of his lips which looked sharp and gleaming.

Seoyeon looked at his laughter with a baffled look. What was funny? she asked herself.

"I didn't know that you have taken thought to the future. Could I take this as a confession that you would want to spend your entire life too with me?" He questioned and she looked at him surprised.. Her ears turned bright red, she didn't think so when she had asked but now that she realized how her words sounded, her whole face was flushed in red color.
