Chapter 40 - Blind Spiders

Han Seoyeon day morning started earlier than the rest of her week today. She looked outside and felt grateful to see that the weather was bright and clear as she wouldn't like having herself drenched with the rain. The weather for the week was said to be the worse as random showers would appear. Last night when she took a small trip toward a convenience store, she came back with her body soaked to the bone. Fortunately she was on time to warm her body and didn't seem to caught a flu. If she did caught one on an important day, she can't begin to imagine how unlucky she was.

Finishing her makeup and the accessories sent altogether with the dress from Jung Hwa, she stood up from the chair she sat on to take her working bag and the phone laying around the table. This had been the third day Wan Seulgi had been ignoring her messages and call. She knew her friend wasn't one who would ignore her messages and calls without reason and was worried if something bad happened to her friend. As tomorrow was weekend, she decided to visit her family home the first thing in the morning.

Just then, Han Seoyeon heard a sound of a bell ringing from her apartment room entrance. "Who's visiting me this early in the morning?" She tilted her head to the side. She wasn't suppose to have a guest this morning and while wondering who she was, the person ringing her bell now turned impatient and pushed the button multiple times. The ringing of the bell echoed aloud reflecting to the guest's hurried calling of her.

With a frown, Han Seoyeon pushed her intercom and saw a smiling face of a sweet man who had always uses his narcissistic remarks.

"I see that you've woken up." Jung Hwa stated as if he was the person who saw the intercom.

Han Seoyeon pulled a business smile out of a habit saying, "Do your beautiful red eyes give you a power to see through walls, Mr. Jung?" She added some smooth sarcasm.

"They don't." Jung Hwa chuckled, "Unfortunately. If I could do that I would have use it for better purpose." He then moved forward to bring his face toward the intercom and Han Seoyeon flinched backward as though the man was right in front of her. "You must look very beautiful now, Seoyeon and as I know well you will be going out with a little tiring dress to move on, I've come to lend you a ride."

Han Seoyeon felt she should reject him now, but the man had come to help her and rejecting his offer he had kindly gave rejecting him now didn't sit right with her. A Pause came long after his words. She felt the gaze he had which unfaltering look through the intercom was straightforward, making her to feel as though the man was right in front of her.

"Please wait a moment." Her words broke a smile to the vampire. "Come back fast." He replied and she turn the intercom off. Walking away from the place she stood, she passed by the mirror she hanged on the wall and stopped to see her face turning bright red. Placing her finger to her cheeks, Han Seoyeon inhaled a breath to calm herself. She decided not to go out for a moment until her reddened cheeks died down.

When Han Seoyeon opens the door of her room, she saw the man standing straight to greet her with a gentle smile where his mischievousness could be seen. Giving a look to her face and the bright red dress covering her body he had personally chose, he pulled his smile wider in delight. "You take a long time, Seoyeon." He called her name and gave a taunting look waiting for Han Seoyeon to remind him not to call her by her given name.

But Han Seoyeon didn't want to play to his tune and instead taunted him back. "I don't think a minute is long, unless for a vampire a minute is too long." She said and the vampire gave her a chuckle.

"No, your right." He raised his hand toward her head and Han Seoyeon subconsciously pursed her lips. "There is something above your head, Seoyeon. As much as I want to take it myself I respect your wish." He mentioned her word last night where she warned him not to touch her feebly.

Taking the dust that he mentioned to be above her head, Han Seoyeon swiped her head, asking, "Is it still there?" Being taller than Han Seoyeon, he could see the round shape of her head well. "It is." Then Han Seoyeon began on patting her hair for a few time with the same question and Jung Hwa repeated his answer. The third time she asked him and his reply was the carbon-copy, she rolled her eyes and sighed, "Can you please take it off from my head, Mr. Jung?"

He gave a surprised eyes before his teasing smile appeared, "But could I touch you?" He asked and saw the forehead of hers weaving a frown. "Please," she repeated and he nodded. His hand crossed over her head, tapping the part near her temple and moved to the exact middle of her head to pull something. When he did took it off, Han Seoyeon saw how the shadow of his hand had moved and asked, "What was it?"

Jung Hwa tilted his head and placed the cobwebs that her head had attracted to the hand she spread out. Looking at the cobwebs, Han Seoyeon's body froze still. He noticed how stiff she had gotten, asking. "What happen?" Her horrified eyes met his and she staggered her feet backward till her back reached the wall. "Spider." Her quivering voice came enough to show how she feared the spiders. She reached out her hand and dust it off fast to walk behind him. Reaching out her right hand, she brought it away from her hand which had touched the spiders' home.

"Are you not good with spiders?" He asked and saw her nodding her head intensely whilst pulling a disinfectant to her hand. "Spiders are frightening, they have eight legs walking together at the same time and the way they produce cobwebs made it look like they are laying traps for their next target. They also look very disgusting and prickly."

"But do you know most spiders are blind?" He saw how he had gained her attention and continued, "Even if they do come to you not all spider could bite human. They are even less frightening than ants."

When she could process his words, the part where she find spider are frightening still couldn't change easily. In her childhood she had heard how in Africa there was a spider with a body as large as human since then she was terrified to her nightmare.

"But you are more of the scaredy-cat than I thought." Her black eyes saw how his lips pulled in mirth.. "Your scared of darkness and spiders, you're so fragile that it concern me."
