Chapter 105

With the child-like teasing, Iellie made a grumpy face without even realizing it.

“But this time, I want you to ride with me.”

“Why?”

“Because…”

He lifted her by the waist with a natural flowing motion. Oohh, now Iellie was riding on the black horse. Seeing her, Zachary gazed up at her from under the horse and gave her a grin.

“Because I want to ride with you.”

He whispered so and jumped on top of the horse.

As his weight swayed the horse’s body, he soon embraced her gently from behind before taking the reins with the opposite hand.

‘Ah.’

Iellie blinked her eyes. Zachary’s head rested on her shoulder, and soon came a friendly voice.

“If I don’t do this, there’s no excuse to hug you.”

“You, you talked like you never hugged me without an excuse.”

“Did I?”

When she answered so, a clear, boyish laugh echoed from behind her. Supporting her body firmly so she wouldn’t fall, Zachary pulled on the reins.

The horse hooves started kicking the ground.

The two of them ran for a while and escaped to the outskirts of the estate. While it was a bit far, it wasn’t a distance that they couldn’t go to. As they went out of the estate, they started to smell the light sea.

“I knew that the estate was connected to the North Sea, but…”

“But?”

“Still, I didn’t know the sea was this close.”

She widened her eyes. Zachary, who tugged at the reins to slow the horse, answered coldly.

“It’s inevitable. You were only at the Duke’s castle the whole time.”

“That’s true.”

Iellie nodded her head slightly. To be honest, right after the marriage, she was looking at the previous duke, and after that, she actually took care of the duke’s castle’s housekeeping, so there was no need for her to go outside.

He opened his mouth again.

“We’re here.”

Zachary, who jumped off the horse, hugged Iellie’s waist naturally. She inadvertently held out her hand and burst into laughter. It was because he somehow seemed unwilling to let go of her in his arms.

“Do you like me that much?”

“Of course.”

Zachary nodded his head with a serious face despite Iellie’s playful question. He laughed lightly.

“Come here, Len.”

“Thank you.”

The round moon, shining like a silver mirror, floated round in the night sky. The surface of the sea swallowed the darkness and glowed ultramarine blue as the moonlight shimmered like the scales of a silverfish. There was also the sound of lapping waves.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve been to the sea.”

“Have you been there before?”

“That is…”

Iellie smiled with an ambiguous face. She suddenly remembered that she had been one in her previous life, but of course, not in this life. Taking off her shoes, she began walking barefoot on the sandy beach.

“It tickles.”

“You haven’t answered me yet, Len.”

Zachary narrowed his brows as she saw her giggling softly. Iellie narrowed her eyes.

“Just… a long time ago.”

“A long time ago?”

As soon as she said that, he looked ambiguous.

White sand tickled her feet.

“Yes. Just think of it roughly as when you were young.”

To be precise, it should be before the possession. She slightly raised her head. Her pink hair flutters in the sea breeze.

Zachary held his breath.

“Len?”

She glanced back. Zachary managed to suppress the urge to hug her close.

“Why are you making that face, Zachary?”

“That’s…”

Because you feel so far away.

Still, he couldn’t bear to say that, so Zachary just shut his lip in the end. It was strange.

“What, you too.”

Perhaps to blow off the awkward atmosphere, Iellie smiled before she slowly turned her gaze.

“Is that Florente Island?”

“That’s right.”

She pointed to an island. They stood side by side and stared at the island. Florente Island, in fact, was so close to the mainland that it was awkward to say it was an island. It felt as if they could reach it just by stretching out their hand.

“By the way, is there a sea in the south, too?”

“Um, well…”

Iellie made an awkward face as the salty air filled her lungs. She tried to change the subject.

“By the way, how do we get to the island?”

“You have to go by boat.”

“…You’re not saying you’re going to row, right?”

Iellie, whose face was suddenly startled, turned to her husband. He shrugged his shoulders playfully.

“I hope I will.”

“Then?”

“Come here first.”

Saying so, Zachary led her to one side. It seemed that he was very well prepared. Iellie opened her eyes wide as she thought so. In front of her, what lay quietly on the white sandbank was a small boat.

“Did you prepare this boat in advance…?”

“Of course.”

“…You must have been busy preparing for the wedding, but you also cared in many ways, too.”

Iellie shrugged her shoulders.

However, there was one problem. The boat in front of her was a small boat that could barely fit two people. They didn’t usually take a small boat like this to cross the island.

“But can we get on that boat and cross over to the island?”

Iellie looked rather suspicious. Of course, Florente Island was so close that naming it an island was a bit far-fetched. Though still, it was not a distance that they could cross on a small boat like this.

“Believe me.”

Still, Zachary alone looked confident. Suddenly, he got on board.

After a while.

“Isn’t this a bit of a waste of talent?”

Iellie muttered that unknowingly. To use the magic of winter to move the boat…?

“What about it, it’s my power.”

“Well, that’s right.”

Iellie was dazed, and she glanced out of the boat. Zachary was now blowing the wind and pushing the boat. He could skillfully handle his powers as long as his emotions didn’t waver.

“Isn’t there a way to do it, like rowing?”

Iellie brought out the most moderate method possible, but Zachary only answered by narrowing his eyebrows.

“How long are you going to row all the way there?”

“Ah, that’s true, but…”

His winter magic was so powerful that it could deal with monsters and savages alone… but wasn’t it too much to use that kind of power just to move the boat?

Nonetheless, Zachary continued seriously.

“I also thought about freezing the sea and walking on it, but isn’t that overboard?”

“Of course, Zachary! You don’t have to!”

Iellie, imagining the frozen sea, exclaimed in surprise, but the man in front of her smiled brightly.

“Then, isn’t it best to use it this way?”

“Isn’t that too much of a self-justification?”

She narrowed her brows. Either way, the boat moved steadily and reached the shores of Florente Island.

“Will you give me the honor of escorting the Lady?”

“….”

Zachary opened his mouth playfully. Iellie’s lips were tightly shut, but she took her step by holding his hand anyway. Blades of grass were trampled under her feet, making crunching noises, and a mansion was visible in the distance.

“Is it there?”

“Yes.”

Zachary nodded his head. It was a small mansion. The walls and red roof made of cream-colored bricks looked cute, like a mansion in a fairy tale. Iellie’s face brightened as she stared at the mansion.

“This mansion is very cute.”

“Really?”

“Yes. It’s a building that looks like a place a fairy in a fairy tale would live.”

Iellie seemed excited, which was rare. Even so, the sight of her glancing back seemed as if she was having a lingering feeling towards the sea she had not seen for a long time.

Seeing that, Zachary chuckled as he brushed her hair and said.

“Should we take a look at the sea for a while before entering the mansion?”

“Oh, shall we?”

Iellie’s face immediately brightened at those words. And so, the two of them walked towards the sea. There was a wide stretch of white sand, along with the dark blue sea fluttered. Zachary spread a handkerchief over the sandbank and sat her down.

“How did you know about this place?”

“Well, you inevitably find out when you’ve wandered outside for a long time.”

When he smiled, she gazed up at him with suspicious eyes.
