Chapter 93

“Because I plan to hold the most spectacular wedding in the empire.”

“…What?”

Surprised, Iellie raised her voice though Zachary answered without batting an eye.

“Perhaps my late father would want that, too.”

“Well, still…”

“Listen, Len.”

Saying so, he stood up and pulled Iellie towards him. Before she knew it, she had become completely buried in his arms. Her heart raced wildly for the moment, and she bit down on her lips.

“Our wedding will be a way to prove the strength of the Hessenweitz.”

“A way to prove your strength?”

“Yes. This wedding…”

Zachary rolled his fingers through her hair. His smile and his eyes were too beautiful.

“It’s announcing that Hessenweitz’s new Master and Mistress will be born.”

Iellie glanced up as she explored his face. As the pale green eyes seemed to be narrowing, she eventually opened her mouth slowly.

“I think I know what you mean.”

As she was still deep in thought, Zachary watched as the small lips moved.

“Because other nobles are probably watching this wedding.”

“That’s right.”

“You’re right. This wedding is the first formal event for the Ducal family to be shown to the outside world.”

When Iellie nodded her head with a serious face, he swallowed a sigh.

Of course, that was why.

‘Perhaps if I hadn’t given a good reason like this, she would have rejected the items I gave her.’

She was a woman who deserved to be given everything in the world. In his heart, he wanted to give her all kinds of things, so he deliberately made up this excuse. Suddenly, Iellie looked worried as she glanced up at him.

“Then, I guess we won’t have enough time.”

“Time…?”

“Yes. If we are going to have an official event, we have to be perfectly prepared.”

Oh, did he misunderstand something? Zachary furrowed his eyebrows slightly. He didn’t mean to force her.

“Just making a guest list right away and sending out wedding invitations takes a lot of time and effort. And…”

“Len.”

Stopping Iellie from speaking again, Zachary smiled at her as she blinked her eyes.

“We don’t have the time and resources, but instead, we have the budget.”

“….”

“And, a budget can pretty much make up for a tolerable shortfall in another area.”

He spoke softly.

‘Oh, of course, he would.’

Iellie narrowed her eyes. Well, that was the right thing to say since it was something she had already experienced firsthand while preparing for his coming-of-age ceremony.

“It doesn’t matter if you spend as much as you want on the budget.”

Zachary spoke in a fresh voice, and he lightly caressed her cheek.

“Also, if there’s anything I can help with, let me know.”

“But, these are the duties of the mistress.”

The light green eyes shone with determination. These events were usually hosted by the mistress of the family as it was the duty and right of the mistress—the more perfect the event, the higher the mistress’ reputation.

She nodded her head.

‘It was like that when I finished the coming-of-age ceremony in the past.’

She certainly felt that the way the northern nobles looked at her had changed. Perhaps the former Duke knew that and purposely entrusted her with preparing for the coming-of-age ceremony. Iellie felt a sense of affection.

“By the way, Len.”

“Yes, why?”

She glanced back at him. After hesitating for a moment, Zachary opened his mouth with a slightly uncomfortable face.

“Just in case.”

“Yes.”

“If you need the Imperial Family to make a congratulatory speech somehow, I’ll try to make a request…”

Zachary hesitantly opened his mouth. His brow furrows terribly.

“Zachary, are you saying that even though you know what happened to me and the Emperor?”

She was fed up.

Meanwhile, Zachary bit his lips. Iellie honestly couldn’t have liked him. Nonetheless, it was true that most of the great nobles consider it an honor and a right to receive a congratulatory speech from the Imperial Family.

“I know. Still…”

He didn’t like it when she had a poor wedding undeserving of her. Zachary furrowed his brow furtively. He thought he would put pressure on the imperial family or threaten them or rip them off for a congratulatory message if Iellie wanted to.

“I absolutely don’t want to.”

She uttered firmly. With her eyes narrowed and her arms crossed, Iellie calmly continued her words.

“I’m from Hessenweitz now.”

“Of course.”

When Zachary replied with a stiff face, she tapped his shoulder with her finger.

“Besides, I’ve experienced firsthand how rude the Emperor is to members of the Duchy.”

“….”

For a moment, he was speechless. It was true. Iellie was the one who returned to him from the Emperor’s clutches. How hard must it have been for her. Instead of answering her, he gently hugged her.

“We just need to be happy with ourselves.”

“…Yes.”

“Tell the Emperor to live as he pleases, that bastard.”

As she grumbled in a sharp voice, the smiled faintly. She always clearly points out the way he should go.

With Zachary in front of her, Iellie said in a confident tone.

“Let’s see. We’ll hold a wedding that won’t fall for the Emperor’s imperial wedding.”

Zachary smiled vaguely.

It was because he felt that Iellie’s motivation was manifesting in a strange direction. At first, she didn’t seem to have much thought about the wedding, but now, he could clearly feel her passion to flatten and push down the Imperial Family’s pride.

Nevertheless, he wanted to let her do whatever she wanted to do.

And all he wanted right now was…

“Za, Zachary!”

Surprised, Iellie raised her head and glared at him.

It was because he bit her neck. Zachary only shrugged his shoulders with a brazen face while she blushed and turned her head away.

‘Really…’

Every time his skinship became more intense, it was hard for her to come to her senses. Feeling embarrassed for some reason, Iellie bit her lip.

“Zachary, every time you do this, I am startled.”

She opened her mouth grimly. It was because otherwise, her heart wouldn’t be beating like this.

“But Len, I’ve been away from you for too long.”

“Huh?”

“I have to make up for the lack of Iellie at least like this.”

His soft voice tickled Iellie’s ears, and his tickling touch made her stiffen her shoulder.

‘Uh, this is a bit…’

Zachary seemed to know how masculine he was, and he was trying to express that to her. However, the problem was that Iellie was helplessly swayed by his actions.

‘I really feel like I’m going to be possessed if I do this.’

She glanced at him, dissatisfied, though Zachary only closed his eyes and whispered to her.

“What’s wrong?”

“…No-nothing.”

‘Ah, whose husband is this?’

Her cheeks burned, and Iellie glanced away quickly.
