“Roar!”

In the midst of the earth shaking and smoke billowing along the street ahead, the crowd standing below the walls enclosing the camp finally began to make out the new arrival.

It was a behemoth about two stories tall, its body covered completely with hard, black scales. Its head was so huge that it took up almost one-quarter of its body size. Razor-sharp and tough-looking teeth protruded from its huge jaws.

“Oh my God, you’ve got to be kidding me. This is a dinosaur!”

“F*ck, I’m at Jurassic Park!”

The moment the players within the camp enclosure saw this gigantic beast appear, they exclaimed excitedly.

This behemoth before them was truly so huge to the extent that even the sight of it trudging slowly toward them was enough to make them feel strongly suffocated.

As a giant scorpion tried to flee in a panic, it passed by this gigantic beast. Without warning, the gigantic beast suddenly ducked low and snapped it up into its mouth, crunching and swallowing it down like a bag of crisps heedless of those pincers piercing at its mouth and nose.

After swallowing it in one go, the beast’s huge disc-like eyes swept across the giant scorpions before it that were scuttering in all directions as well as the players and survivor camp in front of it. It charged over here in heavy lumbering steps.

“It’s really a dinosaur!”

“Is it a tyrannosaurus?”

“F*ck, it’s huge!”

As the players watched the gigantic beast approach, their little eyes shone. Almost all the players present had seen dinosaur movies before and appreciated this kind of behemoth in movies on countless occasions. However, seeing it up close still sent a shiver down people’s spines and mesmerized them.

This was unlike experiencing the gigantic beast’s enormity through the big screen as they were at the scene itself. Even from a distance, the visual stimuli brought upon by a colossus as such was comparable to the dense swarm of giant scorpions from a while ago.

“This isn’t right, this isn’t right.”

As Xu Zhe watched the gradually nearing gigantic beast, he shook his head all of a sudden. “A tyrannosaurus’ front limbs are very small, but this one before us has thick and strong front limbs.”

At this moment, however, Xu Zhe’s voice hardly drew any of the other players’ attention. Zhuang Dafa waved his hands and shouted at Huang Da and Mao Ming who were sprinting all the way back,

“Ada, you f*cking b*stard, you managed to attract such a large guy back!”

“We didn’t know either!”

Huang Da, who was running ahead and already close to the camp entrance, was panting heavily. He shouted with a look of terror on his face, “At the start, we couldn’t see what it was as it was lying on the ground!”

“F*ck, I thought we were already awesome enough by attracting a swarm of scorpions. In the end, we still lost to you guys!”

“Brothers, prepare to fight!” Hua Yu waved a large wooden shield in his hand as he ran, howling at the players.

He felt disgruntled for running away throughout but seeing so many players standing at the camp entrance, he felt a surge of confidence.

There was strength in numbers. Any creature could be defeated!

“Can we defeat it?”

Liu Chuanfeng eyed the behemoth doubtfully. Looking back at what just happened, if the arrival of the behemoth could send countless giant scorpions scuttling away in fear, he felt that it would not be easy to defeat it.

At this moment, the other players also felt a sense of danger. Everybody had seen their fair share of ferocious gigantic beasts on the big screen or on television, but nothing could compare to the sheer dominance of this particular one before them.

Above the walls, Meng Yang watched the beast approach closer and closer. From his point of view, the walls which stood at five or six meters tall were level with the gigantic beast when it raised its head.

“This is an anjanath, we have to retreat!”

Phoenix raised the bow in her hands in the direction of the fast-approaching gigantic beast, her expression solemn like never before.

“What? An anjanath?!”

Upon hearing Phoenix’s words, Meng Yang was slightly stunned. “We cannot stop it?”

“This has already entered second-order Extraordinaire territory.” Phoenix’s eyes were locked on the approaching behemoth, her expression growing increasingly nervous. She replied, “We cannot defeat it just with numbers.”

Meng Yang’s expression changed dramatically. While he may not be too familiar with Extraordinary Species, he had witnessed a saw-toothed tiger and a gnoll which were first-order Extraordinaire. He could well imagine the power possessed by second-order Extraordinaire creatures.

Moreover, Huang Da, Hua Yu, and the other two were players who had roused the Extraordinary seeds were able to defeat a saw-toothed tiger but were now being chased out by this anjanath.

As the two were exchanging words, the many players below the walls were already screaming and charging toward the anjanath.

Sounds of metal clanking against each other instantly reverberated throughout the camp.

Zhuang Dafa’s snapping spear, Xu Zhe’s iron sword, as well as other players’ short axes and weapons alike all hacked at the anjanath’s torso. However, this barely scratched its surface. The rock-hard and sturdy scales were steel-like. The harder people slashed at them, the stronger the rebound was, leaving the anjanath completely unscathed.

Whoosh!

A gust of strong wind whirled past.

Meng Yang heard Phoenix release an arrow from beside him. The arrow shot through the air with speed and ferocity, aiming at the anjanath’s eyes which were its weak spot. However, all the anjanth did was lower its eyelids slightly, and the arrow with a magic crystal head merely dangled from one of its eyelids. The anjanath then blinked, and the arrow dropped to the ground.

“With this kind of defense, we don’t stand a chance!”

Meng Yang shuddered inwardly. Phoenix’s magic crystal arrows had alarming penetrating power, something that Meng Yang had already known. Previously, while the players’ ordinary weapons were unable to hurt the leader of the gnolls, it was Phoenix who managed to send an arrow straight into its calf.

However, this anjanath before them could deflect Phoenix’s arrow completely with just a slight blink of its eyes. Even though its eyelids were its weak spot. Moreover, as the arrow had managed to rile up this creature entirely, it suddenly reared its head and roared to the skies, sending shock waves in all directions. Several players who were approaching it were knocked off balance by this roar of rage and fell onto the ground, disorientated.

After firing this arrow, Phoenix leaped down from the top of the walls, sending two arrows flying one after another toward the anjanath’s eyes. However, while the anjanath’s torso appeared to be large and clumsy, upon noticing Phoenix’s movement, it simply tossed its head and avoided the arrows completely.

Meng Yang almost immediately understood what Phoenix was trying to do and grabbed hold of a helpless woman next to him. He yelled, “Quickly, quickly get all the people within the camp to go down to the basement.”

That woman first froze, then hurried down the walls and began shouting. Another old person sensed the danger and blew on a horn, a booming sound in the mix of chaos.

In a flash, all the people within the camp began moving swiftly. Women and children started running toward a brick building in the deepest part of the camp where there was a basement for them to seek refuge. The people in the survivor camp had clearly devised a plan to be able to survive an attack from a gigantic beast as such.

This world was never safe. Even if there was a wall as a barrier, it was not of much use against truly powerful creatures. If survivors wanted to stay alive, they could only struggle for survival in worst-case scenarios as such.
