Chapter 5：Resident Evil - Start

Unknown: "WAKE UP!"

'I gradually wake up and see a scientist looking guy looking towards me from outside the cell i was put in. Black hair, thin body and blue eyes looking straight at me with disdain. A lab ID reading Jonathan Reev in his lab coat. Though what draw my attention is the symbol on the wall behind him.... the iconic red and white looking logo of Umbrella Corporation.

Zero: "Hahahahahahaha....."- I really drew the short stick this time didn't I."

Reev: "Well I guess you should laugh while you still live, which won't be for long. You are the next on the line for the experiment. Enjoy these hours of your life, they may be the last."

'No time for moping now. I have to find a way to survive. First things first System open the random box.'

System: "Affirmative. Opening… Congratulations on obtaining the following:"

'System why is it Epic?! Shouldn't it at least be Legendary?'

System: "It should be Mythical bordering Godly based on potential but, as the world in which it was created was lacked magical energies (Mana, Chakra, Ki etc.) the same as this one, it couldn't achieve a higher rank."

'I see. Then let's buy it. With this my survivability will soar through the sky and I will be at the top of this world within weeks if not days, but I need to plan the circumstances in my favor. System do I have to kill with my own hands in order to gain points or do I gain them anyway if the cause originated from me?'

System: "Be it triggerman or mastermind you gain the points, as long as you caused it."

' Ok but before I buy it, it will still be me and not 'it' that gains control right?

System: "You are protected by the system so it's like moving you from a body to another, it will still be you. You will also not be affected by the memory loss."

'I'll attract too much attention if I use it now. There are cameras everywhere. While there won't be a need to fear guards or weapons after transforming, I don't want news to spread at Umbrella regarding me. I need to wait for something to happen, but in the next hour I will possibly become a 'test subject' or something worse. What to do, so few choices.'

Then I heard it… the sound of the alarm that signifies only one terrifying thing in an Umbrella Corp. facility in Resident Evil : an Outbreak.

'Music to my ears though it would have been horror had I not bought this vial.'

All of a sudden the lights went out. The little red dot on the camera disappeared as well.

'This is my chance.'

Pulling out a vial holding a reddish to black looking substance I hold it in my hand thinking carefully. After a couple of seconds I have already made my choice.

'… I have to do it if I want to live.

System: "Are you sure you want to use the 'Blacklight Virus'? Changes include 'Race change' and minor adjustments to personality may occur."

Without answering I ingest the substance and feel my body tremble.

Then I passed out… again.

------ 2 hours later------

As I came about slowly and opened my eyes I could feel something had changed, I couldn't feel it anymore… that fear of death that might be hiding behind every corner, it was gone. Suddenly I noticed something, near the emergency light there is a Licker standing on the ceiling 10 meters away from me. It looks bigger than in the game.

'They are blind so as long as I don't make a noise it shouldn't spot me. First order of business:"

'I'm assuming I can't just buy magical energies from the store?'

System: "As this world doesn't contain any such energy you cannot obtain it from the store during your stay here."

'I see. Show me a recommended observation ability.'
