83 Indecisive

The sun was high up in the sky as a gentle breeze blew through my hair making it sway slightly. Ren had his hair up in his usual ponytail sporting a light leather outfit as he looked over Setsu's wounds. A black eye a cut on his lips and some dirt patches and scrapes on his clothes were just a few of the features Setsu was sporting.

I sighed thinking back to my own life, due to having the protection of my grandfather things had become a lot easier for me but for people like Sestu with no backing this school had its obvious downsides.

A bird flew by breaking the momentary daze I found myself in as I compared my old self to Setsu.

" Are you okay?" I said looking over at the injured brown haired boy.

" It is really no big deal Yuki!" Setsu said as he touched his face and flinched.

" Just tell me what happened," I said sternly.

Setsu went on to explain that a person from Vance had caused some trouble earlier saying that this school would take just about anyone and that it wasn't as remarkable as it was made out to be. A student had become irritated by them and said something before Vance's people pointed at Setsu's shoes and mentioned that it " Couldn't be so high an establishment if even the poor were let in"

I looked down at Setsu's shoes and noticed that they did, in fact, look a little outdated before I sighed.

[ Those jerks! ]

The more I thought about Vance's crown prince the more I hated him. I could feel the start of each eyebrow moving together to form peaks between my eyebrows.

" Right enough of that nonsense, where are you staying?" I said to Setsu.

He was clearly embarrassed when he mentioned that he had to share a room with another school student he didn't know because his family couldn't afford a room.

" Right. From now on your sharing with me." I said flatly so he couldn't reject.

Ren looked over at Setsu before shrugging and adding " You better do what Yuki says.. He is a young master after all" Before laughing.

Setsu looked at the ground and then at me before nodding and laughing too. He had to stop after a moment though as the split of his lip had begun to bleed again.

We walked Setsu back to my room and I watched his jaw drop as we arrived back. Ki and Loki both looked at Setsu before sighing at what had taken place.

" So childish," Loki said unhappily.

" For once I agree with you," Ki said looking over at Loki.

" Ki Fetch Setsu a new uniform as well as some shoes, he can take my room and I will take the one closest to the backyard." I said smiling.

" No No! You don't have to go that far you have already done enough!" Sestu said embarrassed.

" Nonsense what are a uniform and some shoes between friends?" I said as I patted his shoulder softly.

A white light sprang from Loki's hand and seemed to be absorbed into Setsu's skin, his wound were healing at a rapid pace.

After a moment not even a scratch could be seen and the only remaining damage was to Setsu's torn uniform.

Loki dropped his hand and smiled widely as Setsu touched his own face.

" Wow! Thank you, Loki was that light magic?!" Setsu exclaimed

" Sure was kiddo, that will be six hundred gold," Loki replied with a cheeky grin.

" SIX HUNDRED GOLD?!" Setsu replied.

" Mm six hundred no more no less, treatments are expensive nowadays," Loki said in a serious tone before he held out his hand.

Setsu checked his empty pockets then stared at me like an injured puppy.

" He is just playing with you…" I said to the pitiful looking Setsu as I felt like I had to explain.

" Oh.. hahah" Setsu said nervously before the whole room broke into laughter.

Ki had spent the rest of the afternoon arranging the rooms so that she, Setsu and all got one each of her own while Ren and Loki, unfortunately, had to share. Considering they were like water and Oil I could foresee if becoming a problem but there was not much else I could do.

During this time I had sent Setsu with a letter and a clean uniform with new shoes to see the administration office and authorize the change. I had also sent Ren with him to collect his belongings.

Loki and Kibbles had decided to spar a few round while I started to set up a new guardian training area in the backyard that I had received. I couldn't believe that my room could hold so much but as I remembered that this school had rank nine spirit beasts it became a little easier.

I had decided to put on some training clothing which consisted on a bare chest and some loose fitting black pants as I made my way to my backyard.

Loki and Kibbles were still exchanging pointers with each other outside as I mentally split the training ground into quarters. I found a bamboo sword that had been provided on a rack by the school and traced out a small space for myself.

When I was finally happy with the design I started planting each seed a few inches from each other in a maze-like pattern with a square in the middle to practice my sword and avatar techniques.

Instead of the same plants that I had back at home, I decided to instead plant some seeds that may be worth some money in the auction house should the need to have extra money come up. I didn't want to drain my families money and decided my own income would probably be for the best.

Each seed was very useful to everyone from soldiers to magic users. There were plants that could be crushed into a paste for medical use, plants that could be made into potions for magic regeneration and a few that could be used by adventures and traders to ward off spirit beasts.

I used to some pretty basic farming tools to arrange the rows, plant the seeds in some fertilizer I had made before leaving to entering the academy before finally watering them. At this time I was glad I changed otherwise my uniform would have looked dirtier than Setsu's was earlier.

I took a whiff of the think Yin and Yang energy in the air before exhaling. This place would make an excellent training ground when everything was fully grown.

I stood up and stretched before I absentmindedly turned around to see the princess, Nathan, and Leo all looking over at me with strange looks on their faces.

I had been so busy with what I was doing that I didn't realize that they had come to visit.

I coughed once before standing straight and smiling.

" I am sorry for not noticing you all earlier," I said with an apologetic tone.

I followed the eyes of the royals that had been staring at me strangely before I realized that my hands, legs, and abs were all covered in dirt. I probably even had dirt on my face as I bowed and apologized for my appearance.

Princess had begun to blush, Nathan turned his head away and Leo merely nodded as they walked towards me.

" That is not important right now, We heard about what happened to your friend earlier and we came to check up on you," Leopold said staring at me.

" Yeah, everything is fine. Setsu is moving in with me so he should be safe in future, did you get an invitation for tonight?" I said changing the subject.

I noticed that Rosli looked like she wanted to pounce on me but was afraid of the first so I decided against getting changed just yet. As I walked towards the side to get a towel and some water that Ki had placed for me at some point.

"That young man will be staying here?" Rosli said ignoring my question.

" Yep! The more the merrier" I said with a plastic smile.

" I will come to visit often then! Leo said that there are lots of breaks between lessons and it is good to study! So it will be fun if I come right!" Rosli said with a wide grin.

My plastic grin became wider as I said " If you wish to come over and visit you are more than welcome Rosy"

" I'll come too!" Nathan blurted out as he also ignored my question.

" I guess I will also accompany you" Said Leo smiling.

" As you all wish," I said clenching my teeth.

[ My quiet days suddenly feel like they are over ]

" So about the invitation from Vance, did you get one?" I said to Leo who seemed like the most sensible.

" What invitation?" Leo said blinking in confusion.

" I see, this is strange," I said in thought.

I walked past the princess and her brothers and asked them to follow me inside. I told the Royals to take a seat before I went off to get changed. It didn't take long until I was back in my young master attire and went to the small kitchen area to make tea for my guests.

I had taken a seat next to Nathan before I poured everyone tea and explained the letter that I had received, everyone had listened intently as I told the details and waited for their opinions on the matter.

" Have you done anything to offend them?" Leopold said with a straight posture.

" Could it be a trap?" Rosli said with a scrunched up face.

" You are right Yuki, It is pretty strange that we did not receive an invite" Nathan chimed in.

" Can I see the invitation?" Leopold asked.

I stood up and walked over to the letter before I placed it inside Leopold's hands.

Leopold scrutinized if for a moment before saying " Did you notice the plus one invitation?"

[ There was something like that I think ]

I took the letter from Leo's hands and noticed just on the bottom there was a postscript saying I could invite one person before handing it back and nodding.

" So who are you going to invite?!" Nathan and Rosli said in unison.

I looked over at Nathan and Rosli before I put my hands out and shrugged.

" I am bringing Kibbles," I said in response.

" Huh? Your spirit beast doesn't count!" Rosli said pouting.

I looked over their expectant faces as Loki, Kibbles, Ren, Ki and Setsu all came inside almost at the same time.

[ What the heck is with this timing?! ]

" What is going on Yuki?" Loki said smiling.
