" I told you this was gonna happen meowster" Kibbles voice sounded off in my brain, almost as if he was mocking me.

I looked down at the back of my hand, it was shining as if a hologram was coming off from it. Just like a smartwatch, there was information displayed in tacky bubble letters on the front of a bright pink screen.

I just sat on my bed dumbfounded as I looked at the new display.

Since Kibbles had been cut off from me for several weeks I had failed to realise that Rosli was close to literally murdering me in my sleep. Not to mention her red heart meter had gone up to six hearts somehow.

I shook my head unable to wrap my head around it.

[It can't be this bad with everyone right?]

I thought about how to coax the princess again, it's been getting harder and harder to pull her attention away from me. I decided to think of a plan after my lessons.

Seeing the rise in green hearts made me feel really happy, I was glad to think that at least the prince and I had become friends. I thought back to the letter that I had kept all this time and shook my head with slight amusement.

Apparently, she got into a drinking competition last night after the guests had gone, with a few of the night watchmen, since it had been my birthday and she was in a good mood. I heard it from a maid that had come to get me dressed this morning that she had become unwell.

I laughed a little at how irresponsible she had been. Father and Mother had obviously forgiven her and just told her to rest.

Suddenly what seemed to be an email popped up on the screen. It was a white envelope with a pink heart on it. I watched it as it shook slightly before it opened.

I hope you are enjoying your upgrades. I have been working to make sure this system is useful for all of your adventuring. ( All is fair in love and war right? ) So I have created you two systems for your hand device. Love Mode, which can help you find your true love and War Mode, which will help you with your combat.

War Mode is not quite ready yet, but when you reach the Magus Academy next year you should be able to unlock a whole bunch of new abilities and training techniques... For the right price of course!

Ps. Please be careful of Rinura, she has never been one to show kindness on a whim. It's probably nothing though.

After I finished reading, it burst into confetti on the screen. I was super excited to hear that a new combat mode was going to be available but was instantly disappointed at the lack of information on it.

[ Stupid Cupid what's with the kisses?! Kisses your foot!]

I sat there mumbling out my grievances with a bright red face for a few moments before I finally composed myself. Looking through my stats I was quite shocked to see how much of an improvement I had made as well as the fact that I could now see Kibbles' stats.

Kibbles noticed my shocked expression. He puffed out his little chest and said " Of course I have stats now! I have a soul! I am technically like a real Kithun now.. Bar the obvious upgrades!"

He strutted around for a few moments like a peacock.

I watched him with my eyebrow slightly raised, unsure if I should be happy at him or laugh at his attempt at gloating. I noticed some changes in him already, like how playful he became and even how he began to talk back a little.

He was becoming more and more alive and for me who didn't really have any friends until I got to this world, I was rather grateful.

[ It's better than talking to a stuffed bear I guess ]

I looked down embarrassed as I remembered what I did in the previous world when I had problems.

" Meowster used to talk to stuffed bears?" Kibbles said bewildered.

" Mm " was all I could say to his question.

" I have never seen one but they're not alive, are they? " Kibbles said confused

" You were not alive when I first met you…" I said embarrassed and slightly annoyed.

" I was too alive! " Kibbles seemed to respond and pout.

" Young Master! Are you going to come and eat breakfast before your lessons? " Said an unfamiliar voice at the door while knocking.

Kibbles seemed to sulk and he walked under my covers and stared at me dejectedly.

" Not! Hmph" Kibbles responded still staring.

" Breakfast.." Kibbles eyes opened wide.

[ I am also sorry for saying you were not alive previously. I didn't mean to be rude, I was just embarrassed is all ]

Kibble's eyes opened wide and slowly moved out from under the covers. He walked up to my hand and started rubbing it.

" Breakfast! Let's go! " Kibbles said and jumped on my shoulder.

I smiled as I walked to the door to begin the day.
