Chapter 297: Dark Elves ( 4 )

Reiji has no idea about the Dark Elves' plans or reason to attack them…

From the looks of it, it even seems like they are actually leading the Beast Wave!

After all, they are not being bothered by other Evil Beasts, especially the Forest Rats which are known for their fearlessness…

He heard that these small creatures would even dare to fight a dragon as long as they are together. However, they seem to be avoiding the Dark Elves or perhaps, they are unable to sense them at all.

"What's going on?"

Reiji has recovered a bit of his Spiritual Energy so he can finally sense the Dark Elve's presence.

Just like what Szaaz mentioned, a few of them were planning to come here while there are others who are watching them.

He's unsure how strong they are so he needs to get ready and help Szaaz in case he needed.

In the meantime, he also noticed that the numbers of Gryphons and Harpies coming here started dwindling.

It appears that the wave is about to end. However, he realized that these last evil beasts were even stronger!

"Thirty-two beasts left… They should be able to handle it if they work together…" Reiji concluded after counting the beast.

They might be stronger than the first ones who had arrived here, but the Half-Imps weren't some pushovers either.

They wouldn't be a dreadful Three-Eyed Imp Cult in Chodora Kingdom if they are weak. They have managed to cause a lot of trouble to the people of the Kingdom and even managed to fight equally against some powerful organizations like the Hunter Association and Knights Order.

Nevertheless, Reiji's main focus was the performance of his main students.

During this beast wave, the one who bravely fights in the frontline is Stasis. With his powerful Epic Arcana or the detachable sword, he was able to fight multiple beasts at the same time.

Aside from that, he also has the Epic Scarf that allows him to use flight and mass heal to support his team.

On the other hand, Mourad had also shown a powerful presence. His every gunshot would kill or knock down a beast…

"He's really suited for this hunting rifle, huh… Though he can only fire 2 to 4 bullets per minute, he's effectively using them depending on the battlefield's situation. He has a keen observation."

Reiji commented as he saw Mourad from afar. He was completely hidden between two carcasses of Evil Beasts. Not only his appearance was covered but also his scent.

Every time he shoots a bullet, he will always hide swiftly not letting the other beasts find him. He appears to be more suited to becoming a Hunter with his current set of skills.

Anyway, it would be very interesting to see how he would fare against other gun users in the kingdom.

Eknaci Tulzan, the only daughter of the Elven King, was tasked to find the Ancient Cursed Arcana that was previously hidden deep underground.

"Haa~ They should've hidden it in our cavern… Now, it was stolen and we have to look for it…"

The lady appears to be in her early thirties but her real age is unknown. The Dark Elves were said to live for over 400 years so basing their age on their appearance wouldn't work well.

"Princess, I think that these Half-Imps wouldn't be able to get their hands on that Cursed Arcana… None of them should be strong enough to take control of it."

Dolryth, one of Eknaci's servants, gave her opinion.

Unlike Eknaci who wears a red and black cloak on top of her plate armor, Dolryth wears her gray cloak while carrying baggage on her back.  She wasn't assigned to be part of the combat team but her task was only to serve the Princess' needs.

Both of them appear to be similar in age and have beautiful faces… Especially Eknaci who has an elegant aura around her. Even though she's wearing her combat attire, her cold beauty attracts the male dark elves around her.

"It doesn't matter. Father said that he didn't feel the Ancient Arcana cross his territory… It means that it is still within this land hiding somewhere. Perhaps, it's trying to recuperate. Even if the half-imps were incapable of taking it, it might be hiding in the village."

Eknaci said as she watch one unit of her Dark Elves Hunters approach the plateau.

Apparently, the Elven King seems to have placed some kind of array around this land so he'll be informed if a Sentient Arcana, or perhaps Ancient Arcana, crossed the borders of his territory.

'Just how dangerous is that Arcana… Why did father leave it there unattended? If they wanted it protected, they should've assigned some people to guard it.' Eknaci complained but there's nothing that she could.

She can only guess that they thought that it was better to have no one be aware of its existence as the best method to avoid others from taking an interest in it.

It is actually a good idea since it was left untouched for many years. However, it seems that the Cursed Arcana found an ounce of luck and managed to escape.

They only realized this after a huge fight within the minotaur's mountain occurred. It seems that several powerful Sentient Arcana was involved and it has alarmed their tribe. They then discovered the disappearance of the Ancient Cursed Arcana and have been tasked to find it within this chaotic land.

In the end, they had to rely on the Beast Wave. This way, their search would be easier since they can guarantee that the Cursed Arcana would have to fight against it or perhaps escape from it.

Whatever it is, they would be able to rattle him out and destroy it altogether.

Eknaci touched the golden dagger strapped on her waist. This dagger was given by her father to use against the Cursed Arcana. Though she's unsure whether it is really effective, she can only trust her father and complete the task.

Boom!

As she was waiting for the team she sent to investigate, she heard an explosion above the plateau…

"Princess… The team that we sent, they've been killed!" Dolryth shouted as she saw everything clearly.

The battle only lasted for few seconds!

"A Sentient Arcana! It's a trident! It matches the King's words!"
