Chapter 50: Sword Duel ( Part 1 )

The Hunters present may have a hard time fighting against the complicated Arcane Magic of these students but a duel using only their sword techniques shouldn't be a problem.

No one was afraid of the little kid even if he possesses a Mythical Sword with him.

"Allow me…"

Many hunters wanted to have a go with Alexander but in the end, one of the Eight Thunder Claws decided to challenge the young man.

"One Star Hunter Yewon"

"Swordsman Alexander"

Instead of introducing himself as an Arcane Student, Alexander decided to make himself known as a swordsman.

Although it didn't sit well with the hunter as he was too young and inexperienced, no one complained since he still has a noble status.

The nobility doesn't have to be observed within the Academy but the Hunters still have to be careful about how to treat them since these young students wouldn't stay long to study and will soon return to their territories. Even if they don't have noble status, as soon as they graduate, they will surely get a high position considering their abilities.

'Hmph… I'll show you what a true swordsman is like.'

Yewon draws his sword and probably because it was heavy, the tip of the sword remained resting on the ground. However, Yewon's stance can still produce a unique aura…

Even Diether felt that it would be difficult to initiate an attack against him.

Seeing this unique style, Alexander only smiled as he didn't even remove his sword from its scabbard.

"Don't take me lightly!"

Yewon felt infuriated seeing that his opponents didn't even draw his sword and waved it around in front of him.

The Hunter decided to show this kid the strength of an adult man.

He raised his sword…

It wasn't fast nor slow but it let Alexander know the trajectory of his strike.

Bang!

His sword and Alexander's scabbard met.

It created sparks everywhere but Yewon didn't stop and used his incredible stamina to continuously hit Alexander to let him know that he had to take him seriously.

Bang! Bang!

After the last two strikes. Yewon stopped to breathe and see how the young kid was faring. However, he noticed that Alexander didn't seem tired or struggling!

His attacks weren't meant to eliminate Alexander so he expected that his strikes will be defended. But to ignore his strength was completely unfair.

"Not bad! But you're just waving around your sword without any technique at all. Don't expect to win against me if you're like that."

Alexander smiled after he saw Yewon's surprised expression.

"Let me show you my sword technique!"

The young man decided to exhibit his swordsmanship in front of everyone.

Cyclone Slash!

The continuous assault of the heavy sword that came from almost every direction made Yewon struggle. The Hunter was unable to properly defend and got hit numerous times! Luckily, the sword wasn't drawn and he was only getting bruises…

Boom!

Finally, the Hunter was thrown away and this also signifies his loss against the student.

"Powerful!"

"He did not even activate his Arcana, right?"

"That's right… It was purely the techniques passed down to their family. It's amazing…"

"It seems that the Hunters would be afraid of fighting him now since he showed that ability."

Indeed, after they saw Yewon, a member of the Eight Thunder Claws, being defeated like that, the people around realized the young man's skills. After Alexander announced for another sparring, no one came to challenge him.

He was disappointed but he had to leave and let the others have a chance for a duel…

"Wait! Let me fight you!"

As soon as he decided to leave the plaza, a young man with black hair and gray-blue eyes shouted. His nose and mouth were covered with a black mask so many students were unable to identify him. Only a couple of students recognized him. Of course, the Hunters were fully aware of his identity.

"What? Only Hunters can participate here. If you're lost, go ask for help somewhere else…"

"Hahaha! That's right!"

Some students who saw the young boy immediately teased him. He seems to be younger than them so they acted as such.

He was even smaller than Alexander, so how can he fight against him?

'You… What are you doing?'

Aria didn't know how to react after seeing her little brother challenge Alexander.

'Tsk… I shouldn't have said anything about our family's enemy… He's acting too rash…'

"Amazing! That boy must be confident… He already saw Alexander's skill a while ago but he was still facing him without any fears…"

Emily, Aria's friend, noticed this point instead of just mocking the young man. This made Aria realized that her brother might be planning something… After all, he wouldn't survive up until now if he was truly rash in his actions.

'Haa~ Let's see for now…'

Aria can't stop the fight now but she was ready to help her brother if it got dangerous. She placed her hand that was wearing her Arcana in front of her chest as she solemnly observes Diether and Alexander's confrontation.

"Are you sure? There's no turning back…"

Alexander asked Diether as if the victory was already within his grasp.

"Yes… One Star Hunter Reiji." Diether answered and introduced himself so they can begin the battle.

'Reiji? Aren't you Diether? Do you want to hide your identity?' Alexander thought as he realized what Diether was planning to do but he didn't really care.

'Aria should've recognized him by now even if he changes his name. Hmph… It's not my concern now. I'll just have to eliminate you here.'

"Very well… Swordsman Alexander."

After he reintroduced himself, he immediately took his stance. This time, he draws his sharp sword and showcased his Mythical Arcana. He held the sword using only his right hand and placed it in front of him as if it was a ritual.

"Whoa!"

"Look! It really lives up to its reputation. It's beautiful…"

"Why did he draw his sword? Was that kid a powerful Hunter?"

"It shouldn't be… I think, he just registered as a hunter recently."

The students were curious about Diether since Alexander seems to be taking him on seriously. On the other hand, the Hunters were expressing their worries about Diether's safety.

"That kid… Was his living conditions so bad that he needs to earn money like this?"

"He should've received ample money due to the rewards, right?"

"Sigh~ He must be saving it…"

Most of the Hunters here were only participating to earn money easily so they thought that Diether was the same.

Anyway, they saw the young man pull out his wooden sword to fight against that sharp-looking sword.

"What?!"
