Chapter 32: Profession

It was an exaggeration that he was capable of defeating an evil beast with a single strike.

Anyway, Diether didn't bother to correct that as he curiously asked the man's name.

"Oh, you can just call me Russel…"

Russel was a young man with black hair and brown eyes. He seems to be a friendly person so Diether relaxed a bit.

"Alright, Russel… I'm looking for a hunting bag and a couple of sharp throwing knives."

He wanted to purchase a throwing knife due to Yasmin's influence. She had joined his daily training routine and in exchange, she taught him some of her techniques in handling these knives.

Aside from learning this from her father, her technique was mixed with other hunters that were patrons in their small inn.

There were some times that they will teach her some techniques whenever they see her practicing in the morning.

"You have such a good timing… We just received a dozen throwing knives and daggers with good quality. You can have a look here… I'll just take out some hunting bag at the back."

"Yes… Thank you, Russel."

Russel pointed at the cabinet where sets of throwing dagger were displayed neatly. The hunting bag, on the other hand, wasn't an item that was being purchased regularly so it was normally being kept somewhere else.

'Hmm… Let's see…'

The throwing knives on display weren't magic weapons but although they weren't anything special, Diether made sure that the quality was good.

He had to consider its weight, sharpness, and design. The design was important, after all, it must be a throwing dagger that can be easily concealed by a 10-year-old kid.

In the end, he chose a set of small silver throwing knives worth 40 silvers each. It was very expensive considering that they were throwing knives… The set includes 4 small knives with similar designs so it was a total of 160 silver coins.

Diether only wanted to purchase 2 knives but because he was attracted by its quality and free chest holster, he decided that it wouldn't be too much to purchase them with his current money.

The hunting bag that he purchase was also made from a leather unique to the village.

Diether was satisfied with his purchase.

After he left the shop, he decided to visit the Apothecary near the shop.

He hadn't visited this place before until now since the previous medications he had were only bought at some small stalls in the village.

Aside from that, the products in this Apothecary were known to be expensive. At the very least, the quality was guaranteed so there were still regular customers.

Diether looked at the signage of the apothecary shop and noticed that it has an official name, Gentle Pixie. At the left of its name was a drawing of a vial with red liquid in it.

After he entered the shop, he noticed that there were still 3 other customers in line so he had to wait before his turn.

"What would you like to purchase, young man?"

The question was made by an old lady with a gentle face after he waited for a while. Her long white hair was tied like a ponytail and she seems to be a very kind woman.

"Uhmm… I want a potion of sleep inducement, a bottle of weak purification, and a small amount of Filthy Flower's essence."

"Mhmm… Alright…"

These three weren't on the expensive side but it was still worth 190 silver coins in total.

The existence of Knights, Arcanists, and Hunters was crucial to the world to fight against the enemy of mankind and evil beasts. However, behind these people were important professions that would help them to succeed.

They were the Alchemists, Doctors, Beast's Gourmets, Explorers, Blacksmiths, and other professions that can contribute to the country's forces.

Except for the Alchemists that have an Alchemist Union, the others weren't as organized as the three associations even though there's a number of them in this profession.

Anyway, the reason why he purchased the three wasn't just due to Orga's suggestion.

He wasn't unfamiliar with these as he was already aware of their effects from Yasmin's stories. In short, he planned on buying these three even without Grandpa Orga's suggestion.

After all, these three items were a must-have item for any hunters going inside the Wailing Forest as per Yumi's words.

After his shopping spree, Diether went straight to the inn to have a meal and a good rest.

During the remaining days before the mission.

He was planning to scout a bit in the surroundings of the forest so he wouldn't be too new on the first day of the mission.

"Hmm… Where should I go first?"

Diether just left the village to visit the outer range of the forest.

The Wailing Forest was wide so he wasn't exactly sure where the training of the students will happen. The most that he can only do at the moment was to familiarize himself with the trees and beast that were lurking around so he can come up with a plan.

Several days had passed and the day of the mission has arrived.

The village was lively as they will be accommodating the esteemed students of the Royal Academy. Even if it would only be in a short time, everyone wanted to leave a good impression on the visitors.

There were a total of 50 young students who had arrived today accompanied by ten 4th Class Arcanist. It was easy to recognize the ten Arcanists because of their gray emblem of crossed swords with a rose in the middle that was attached to their left chest... These emblems were all proudly displayed to easily indicate their status.

It was an emblem that was being provided by the Arcanist Association just like the License Card of Hunter Association.

"T-This…"

About 200 meters away from the group of 60 people, Diether, who was silently observing them was stunned at the sight of his older sister.

She seems to be looking around at the people within village as if she was looking for her little brother.
