Chapter 631

“How many hours of volunteer work? 200,000 hours? So you want me to work for free for the rest of my life?”

“Is that important? It’s not that you don’t like this?”

Adrian smiled affectionately and touched Noah’s neck. The cold touch made Noah jump slightly, but she was not scared.

“Hey, do you think I can’t break this thing?”

The restraint was nothing more than a weak pretty necklace in the face of the power of dragon magic. Muel, who had climbed up Noah’s leg, clung to her arm and opened his mouth to bite. Two sharp fangs could be seen that looked more dangerous than cute.

As soon as Muel was about to bite the restraint. Adrian whispered in Noah’s ear.

“You just thought that you wanted to kill me, right?”

Noah looked at Adrian in surprise, but he simply shrugged as if he already knew everything.

“It was obvious. You don’t know how to deal with the magic of the dragon, but do you think everything would be over once you have fully imprinted with the dragon?”

“What do you mean?”

“Is magic the only thing that dragons and the imprints share? If you think that, you are really naive.”

“…….”

“You shouldn’t think of Muel as a human being just because he looks cute, Ellie. Tell me, how many times have you felt the urge to kill a person?”

‘Twice so far. When I ran into Lenia in the underground and just a moment ago when Adrian wrecked my trial.’

Once Noah realized that she was appalled.

No matter how annoyed she was, it was not normal to feel the urge to kill someone.

At some point, Noah took it for granted that if she was her old self then she would not have been able to think of killing someone. Noah was slow to realize that she was wrong.

Noah bit her lip as Adrian directed his gaze at Muel who was hanging from her arm.

“I wonder, how many times has this dragon felt such an impulse? Oh… I shouldn’t describe it as an impulse as he doesn’t feel any guilt.”

Noah got goosebumps all over. Noah swallowed and moved her gaze to Muel. Perhaps because he felt that she was uneasy, Muel’s eyes stared at her with a little uncertainty. Noah tried to see the inhumane part of him.

Adrian looked at her and sarcastically said,

“You can’t control magic, you can’t keep your reason, but you didn’t teach the dragon… Ellie, do you know that you’re in a very dangerous situation?”

Now Noah understood. She didn’t know that what she felt most afraid of would be expressed this way…

Adrian whispered while fiddling with the restraint on her neck.

“This restraint will protect you from the dragon. Of course, it’s a man-made restraint, and as you said, you could break it if you put your mind to it, so it’s your choice. But if it was me, I would not break it and abandon humanity.”

“…….”

‘I can’t argue with that because it’s a logical statement.’  Adrian looked at her gently, noticing that Noah had a lousy expression on her face.

“Knowing you as I do, you came to Tezeba because you wanted me to teach you how to control the dragon’s magic. And I have promised that I’d see you regularly.”

“…….”

“Learn magic from me. Step by step. If I think you’ve improved enough not to be swallowed by the dragon’s magic and presence, I’ll let you go.”

She didn’t say anything, but both Noah and Adrian already knew the answer that would come out of her mouth. Adrian smiled softly and stroked her head.

“Yeah, This offer is not a loss for you, right?”

“Why are you making this offer to me?”

“Well, because I love you? Because I don’t want you to be in danger?”

“Don’t talk nonsense.”

Adrian looked disappointed when she spoke so coldly. Noah organized her thoughts without batting an eye at the change in his expression.

Adrian was a very suspicious man. He was a man who had approached her on purpose, knowing that Muel was a dragon in the first place. When Adrian offered Noah the deal, there was a condition for him to observe the dragon’s magic closely.

Even though the close relationship between Yulem and the Ministry of Magic was suspected, Adrian was the number one target to investigate.

Maybe it was not a bad opportunity. Noah organized her thoughts. It was not a bad idea, to get what she needed and then investigate him at the same time.

Noah glanced at Kyle, who was still staring at them, and nodded slowly.

“OK, twice a week.”

“It’s a deal.”

Adrian held her left hand and shook it a couple of times as if he had been waiting.

“… Let me ask you one thing.”

The deal had been made, but there was still a sense of unease. Noah shook his hand and then snatched it away. Adrian looked at her with a grimace whilst waiting to hear what she had to say. Noah pointed to the restraint on her neck, whilst she asked,

“Do I really have to wear this restraint on my neck?”

The width was not that wide, but it was disturbing and uncomfortable because it was made from metal. But before that, Noah couldn’t get rid of the feeling that it was like wearing a dog’s collar which she didn’t like.

Adrian answered with a smile.

“No, not necessarily. You can wear it on both wrists or you can wear it on your ankles.”

“But why did you put it around my neck?”

“That’s my taste.”

Adrian laughed and got the key.

When he pressed the middle of the restraint, the pressure that was put on her neck caused a cough to break out. He stared at her in surprise, and Adrian touched his lips.

“And … it’s pretty much the same wherever you put it.”

“…….”

“I don’t think it’s a bad idea to leave the restraint on your neck. What do you think?”

“Shut up, you pervert.”

This time Noah got really emotional and kicked his leg..
