Chapter 49 - 49 I'll Take You Out to Have Fun

49 I’ll Take You Out to Have Fun

Xing Linlin pursed her lips and put on a look of helplessness. “Aunt, don’t be anxious. You can call Brother Xingyang to ask about the situation. There was one night when Xing Shu was furious and admitted in front of everyone that she had fooled around with a man. I know that Xing Shu was just spouting nonsense, so don’t misunderstand…”

Chen Ru’s eyes narrowed. She did not think that Xing Shu would speak without cause—Xing Shu was stubborn and would never deny what she had done. So if she had admitted it in person, it was likely true! Her son had actually been cuckolded by Xing Shu!

Chen Ru stood up immediately. She wanted to go to the Xing family and annul the engagement immediately! At the sight of Chen Ru leaving in a huff, Xing Linlin picked up her teacup and took a sip in satisfaction. Two easy fools—not challenging at all.

Xing Shu was unaware of all of this. She was stopped by Jiang Yao—holding the credit card between her fingers—straight after work. The roof of the convertible was retracted, revealing the ostentatious interior of the car. She raised her eyebrows at Xing Shu. “Let’s go, Cousin-in-law. I’ll take you out to have fun.”

Xing Shu and Jiang Yao were not familiar with each other. Waving at Xing Shu warmly, Jiang Yao was very friendly and seemed to be not very perceptive.

There were many employees at the entrance of the Cheng Corporation Group building, and many of them were looking over at them. It was difficult not to attract attention with a flashy sports car worth more than ten million yuan parked here, not to mention Jiang Yao’s incessant honking. “Cousin-in-law, there’s a saying ‘live life to the full’. When you see a male celebrity later, you’ll realize how stupid it is if you can’t see the forest for the trees.”

Jiang Yao possessed a look of innocence and to some extent, even a little childish. Who would have thought that she would have such a liberal outlook on life?

Xing Shu took a deep breath and climbed into the front passenger seat. “Don’t call me cousin-in-law. My engagement with Cheng Xingyang will be annulled sooner or later.”

Jiang Yao was a little surprised. “Really? You’ve been taken for a fool for so many years, and you suddenly came to your senses overnight?” She sure had a way with words!

Jiang Yao did not expect Xing Shu to answer. Instead, she said as she started the car, “Xing Linlin created a WeChat group. The group is filled with young ladies from the Beijing upper-class social circle. I’m also in the group. Those people in the group are waiting to see you make a fool of yourself every day.”

Xing Shu took out her lipstick and added a touch of red to her neutral-shaded lips. “Did Xing Linlin say that I bullied her again? Hit her? Or jealous of her?”

Jiang Yao exclaimed, “How did you know? Those people berate you every day as if you’ve done something heinous. Well, it can’t be helped since Xing Linlin is so popular, and she likes to attend all kinds of gatherings. Those who don’t know better will think that she’s the real young lady of the Xing family.”

Xing Linlin really liked to attend gatherings, missing none of the socialite gatherings. Xing Shu was not sure just how many people Xing Linlin had gotten to know. Xing Linlin was excellent at bewitching people. Her tears were readily available on demand, and not many people could bear to see her cry.

“Cousin-in-law… No, I’ll call you Xing Shu from now on. Actually, I’m very curious. You’re the daughter of the Xing family. Why does the Xing family seem to value Xing Linlin more? Whenever Xing Linlin ran into trouble at any gathering, your brother—Xing Zewu—was the first to rush to her aid. I saw the bracelet she was wearing—it seemed to be from an auction. On the other hand, look at you. Your food and clothes… are worse than my nanny’s.” Jiang Yao did not say this out of mockery; she was truly baffled.

The corners of Xing Shu’s lips twitched. “Xing Linlin’s personality is more popular with the Xing family.” As for her, she was too boring and did not know how to please others, so she was not liked. Competence was never a match for honeyed words.

Jiang Yao said, “Really? I think you’re rather well-liked. I feel that my Young Uncle treats you differently.”

Xing Shu was stunned by Jiang Yao’s words. She wondered if Jiang Yao knew about her relationship with Cheng Lang. Jiang Yao was too contradictory. She seemed to be a forthright person who did not mince her words and spoke unfiltered. It was hard to tell if it was just a casual remark or her true opinion. She was very forthright, too forthright for one’s comfort.

Xing Shu gathered her thoughts. “Is that so? Perhaps it’s because President Cheng values talent.”

Jiang Yao smiled and parked the sports car at Sunset bar. Then, she tilted her head. “Xing Shu, you slept with Young Uncle, huh?”
