Chapter 10 - The Capital Of Lansera

Illira City – the Capital and biggest City in the Lansera Kingdom, the place I'm about to head to. In the game, when Aksia was about eighteen years old already and was attending the Academy, she went to a place called 'Morte', it was a place located somewhere underground.

It's where illegal things happen, and where they sell a lot of different things.

In the game, Aksia went there to hire someone to spy for her – to spy on Anastasia, to be more specific. But now, I'm planning on heading there to purchase something... dead.

And like I said, it doesn't have to be a person. But I would try to find some interesting 'things' as much as I can. Maybe I can even find something useful.

That's why right now, I'm wearing a maroon cloak with a very simple dress underneath it. It was the middle of the night, a perfect time for me to sneak out. Like the date here, the time also works the same as my previous world, and now, it's almost eleven PM. The hood of the cloak is covering my face too, but I tried to look for a mask just to make sure. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any.

I decided to just use Magic to make my face looks distorted to anyone who would look at it.

After making sure that I had everything I might need with me, I closed my eyes. I felt the surge of Magic through my whole body, the air started gathering around me, and I spoke –

"Take me to my dėsɨrėd place."

Although my eyes are closed, it felt as if a light flash through my vision, and when I opened them again, a new scenery welcomed me. I wasn't at my house anymore, I was outside. I'm in an alleyway and from here, I could see the tall buildings. I could also see the large Castle from afar.

I can even hear people's voices and other kinds of noise. Carefully, I walked out of the alleyway and looked around.

"We're selling high-quality jewelry for a cheap price! Come take a look!"

"Fresh bread for sale! There's also a free taste, you won't regret buying it!"

Now that I'm more out in the open, the voices are more clearer. I'm seeing so many different things at the same time that I don't know where to look first. There are a lot of stores on the street, some are selling foods and jewelry, there are even performers, singers, actors and such. There's also a lot of people. The place was basically bursting with energy.

I guess it's to be expected since this is the Capital of Lansera Kingdom. Merchant, travelers, nobles, vendors, and sellers, you can definitely find almost anything and anyone here.

I pulled the hood on my face and started walking, I started looking for a restaurant called 'Etrom' while carefully avoiding bumping into people and catching unneeded attention.

Even though I'm not really from this world, I'm able to move around like this as if I'm familiar with the place because of Aksia's memories and my knowledge from the game.

"This..." After a while of walking, I found myself standing in front of a small building.

In the door that is seemingly made out of gold, attached a sign that says 'Etrom'. I took a deep breath before deciding to go inside. There are only a few people inside, they started looking at me when I entered so I unconsciously pulled my hood again even though they can't see my face because of my Magic that made it looks distorted.

The exterior of the place looks plain at first glance, the same as the interior. There are old looking tables, chairs, and equipment inside, simply put – it wasn't something you could imagine to be a place where a lot of illegal things happen.

My eyes wandered around the place.

There are about 15 people here, all of them looks like a harmless civilian. There's nothing out of ordinary except for the person behind the counter who's wearing a Bunny mask.

All of these people excluding the person at the counter are probably people hired by whoever is managing this place. They're here to guard the place – or the place under this normal looking restaurant to be more specific.

'Etrom'. It was something easy to figure out. The name of the restaurant can be read as 'Morte' when reversed.

Who would've thought that something illegal happens in an ordinary-looking restaurant?

I walked to the counter.

"What can I get for you, lady?" The person wearing the Bunny mask asked me, although this is 'Morte', it's also still a restaurant. Some people really do come here to just eat with knowledge of what's taking place underneath the place.

There are only three ways to be able to go to Morte. One, you are a person who was invited by the people managing Morte itself. Second, you were given the password by another person who is already able to go to Morte. Third, you get the knowledge about it through investigation and such.

"I came here for another matter." I said, the person wearing the Bunny mask tilted their head, obviously waiting for what I will say next. My face right now is also distorted due to Magic, so like me who can't see their face, they can't see mine.

It doesn't matter if you're not a noble, as long as you know the password and you have money, you can go here.

"No one here gets out alive."

After saying that, the masked person didn't do anything for a while, it was as if they're just observing me.

Until they spoke – "I welcome you to Death." They got out of the Counter as my eyes follow them.

"Since it looks like this is your first time here, please allow me to guide you, dear guest." They went to the second floor and I followed behind them. Unlike the first floor, there was nothing on the second floor other than a bunch of books and bookshelves.

We stopped in front of a bookshelf and the masked person face me.

"Dear guest, are you ready to go now?" They asked and I nodded. They reach for a book at the most upper part, left of the bookshelf. They took it out and the normal-looking bookshelf started to slide to the right, and a path that wasn't there earlier had appeared. It was stairs that lead somewhere underground.
