33 Training

Name:I Became a God Author:KrisSirk
After a few minutes of waiting, Ron came back with the Unicorn Ice Cream in his hand. He handed it over to Zeno, along with a small spoon. "Here you go."

Zeno looked at the Ice Cream and licked his lips. This would be the first time he tasted ice cream and it was all thanks to Hoemis. He held the spoon and scooped the ice cream, placing it into his mouth and tasting it.

Zeno's face was full of bliss. The ice cream was sweet, but not too sweet and it was also cold. He grabbed another bite and another, and before he knew it, there was no more ice cream.

Zeno wanted more ice cream, but if he asked for more, he would just be a bother for Hoemis.

"Would you like the bill?" Ron asked Hoemis.

"Yes please," Hoemis replied.

Ron nodded and came back with a bill, handing it over to Hoemis.

Hoemis read the bill and looked at the cost of everything. In total, it cost: 7 gold coins. That doesn't sound like a lot, but it is. There are three coins used by the people of Tua. Gold, silver, and copper.

One gold coin is worth 23 silver coins, or 4,917 copper coins. One silver coin is worth 211 copper coins. The average citizen earns about 13 gold coins a month, so seven gold coins is a lot of money to most people.

Hoemis didn't have money to pay, not even a single copper coin. "Ron... You see... I don't have any money to pay."

As soon as Ron heard that, his smile turned into a frown. "What?! Did you come here to eat, but didn't bring any money?!"

Hoemis nodded. "Yeah, it's exactly that. Don't worry, I know the king."

"The hell you know the king. I should've known you couldn't pay from the moment I saw this dirty kid. I'm going to get a guard and get the both of you arrested."

"Don't insult my student."

"What are you gonna do?"

Hoemis stood up and grabbed Ron by the collar of his suit, lifting him up.

"Hey! Put me down!" Ron struggled, but he couldn't get free from Hoemis.

Outside of the restaurant, a female was watching the whole scene through the window. It was Ayda, the daughter of Adum. She had overheard everything they were talking about, as she had been keeping an eye on Hoemis just in case something bad happened.

Ayda went into the restaurant to stop Hoemis. "Put him down." She pulled out her wallet, placing seven gold coins on the table. "There's no need to get guards involved, I have money to pay for the food."

Hoemis stared at Ayda with a curious face. He could sense that she had divine mana, albeit not as strong as a god's, but it was still divine mana. He placed Ron back on his feet, letting him free.

Hoemis turned to Ayda. "Thanks, you really helped me."

"You're banned from eating here ever again!" Ron grabbed the gold coins and ran to the kitchen.

"Ughh, follow me before you get in trouble," Ayda said, heading out of the restaurant.

Hoemis and Zeno followed behind her as they left the restaurant.

"So what are you?" Hoemis asked as they were walking.

"An Ancient One, what else would I be?" Ayda replied.

"Don't try to fool me. You might be an Ancient One, but you aren't normal. You have divine mana surrounding you."

"Well, it should be fine to tell you. I'm a demigod, and my father is Adum. Do you know him?"

"You're a god?" Zeno asked Ayda.

Ayda shook her head. "No, I'm the daughter of a god."

"I do know him, but I haven't met him yet. If you're a demigod, then it makes sense why you have divine mana," Hoemis said.

"I also know who you are, Hoemis, Go-"

"Yeah, yeah. I'm trying to keep my identity a secret, so try not to mention that, especially when someone is watching us right now," Hoemis interrupted.

"What do you mean?" Ayda took a quick look around and saw a mysterious figure on the roof of a building. The figure disappeared as soon as it noticed Ayda looking at itself.

Ayda used her mana to find the figure, but the figure was either long gone, or concealed itself. "Who was that, and how did you know someone was watching us?"

Hoemis spotted his dojo in the distance and started walking towards it. "That's a secret. Maybe if you become my student, I'll maybe tell you."

Zeno and Ayda followed beside Hoemis, as he approached the dojo.

"I'm a mage, so I doubt you could teach me anything useful," Ayda said.

Hoemis opened the door to the dojo, heading inside and letting Ayda and Zeno in. "You never know, you might learn something new." Hoemis turned to Zeno. "Zeno, I will now train you."

In the next couple of hours, Hoemis made Zeno do countless exercises that would increase his strength.

Hoemis made Zeno do hundreds of pushups, making him collapse, only for Hoemis to use Chakra to reenergize Zeno and make him do more pushups.

Ayda watched as Zeno collapsed and Hoemis revitalized him. Zeno was covered in sweat, but he didn't stop. He had to get stronger and he would not give up just like that.

After an hour of even more exercises, Hoemis told him to stop as he was now going to teach him how to fight properly.

Zeno listened closely, making sure he remembered everything his teacher said. Hoemis told him that when fighting, you must never waste energy, so everything you do has to be efficient.

Wasting energy on unnecessary movement will make you tired, and being tired makes you weak. Hoemis also said to rely on your own instincts. If you have a bad feeling about someone, then trust it.

As Zeno's final training for the day, Hoemis made him punch the training dummies for a whole hour. Hoemis gave pointers as he was punching the dummies, showing him how to properly punch, as to not waste any energy.

By the end of the day, Zeno fell on the ground. He was panting, trying to catch his breath. His whole body was covered in sweat as he let out a sigh of relief.

"Take this time to rest as you'll be training just as hard tomorrow," Hoemis told Zeno.
