Karl fell to the ground with the bird. He stayed on the ground and let out a sigh of relief. "I have a feeling this dungeon isn't gonna be easy. If this is the first level, then what's the last level like?"

Kerym also sighed. He sat down beside Karl, breathing heavily as he tried to catch his breath. He considered what Karl said. If they struggled with the first level, then would they even be able to reach the last? He shook those thoughts away, he would never give up just because it was hard. "Harder than this, but who cares? The harder it is, the better the rewards."

Karl nodded. He should've known that going into this, it wouldn't be easy. Taking deep breaths, he calmed himself and caught his breath. As he was laying down, something weird happened. The bird's corpse became bright green. He turned to Kerym and yelled at him, "Get away from the body!"

Karl and Kerym quickly got up and backed away from the body. They carefully watched the bird's corpse, wondering what was happening.

"What's happening?" Kerym asked.

"How should I know?" Karl replied while holding his dagger tightly.

Dilya approached the two. She also carefully watched the glowing green corpse. "I thought we killed it?"

The bright green corpse slowly disappeared, leaving a glowing green orb on the ground.

"What is it?" Karl asked, approaching the orb.

Dilya motioned for Karl to stop. "Wait, let me inspect it."

"Alright," Karl replied.

Dilya walked up to the orb and inspected it.

[Orb of Air Manipulation:] This is a rare drop from a boss. Absorbing this orb will give you the ability to manipulate air.

Dilya gasped as she read what the orb did. If it was anything like Karl's ability, she should be able to control air without using mana.

Kerym watched from the side, looking at the orb. "What? Is it anything bad?"

Dilya shook her head and grabbed the orb, holding it in her hand. "On the contrary, it's very good. I inspected it and it said that if I absorb this, it'll give me the ability to manipulate air. I would like this for myself, but if you want it, you can have it."

Karl raised his eyebrow hearing this. 'Air manipulation? Did the bird have that?'

"Wow, that sounds really good, but you know me. I don't like using magic. You can have it, but Kigai might want it," Kerym said.

Karl waved his hands in front of him. "No, you can have it. It suits you more than it suits me. Plus, I already have a good ability."

"Yay, thank you!" Dilya jumped with joy. "But how do I absorb it now?"

A screen popped up in front of Dilya.

[Would you like to absorb the [Orb of Air Manipulation]?]

[Y/N]

Dilya extended his finger and pressed yes. The orb disappeared, turning into a green mist. It covered Dilya and disappeared, a window popping up.

[You have learned Air Manipulation.]

"Do you feel any different?" Karl asked Dilya.

"No, but it says I've learned air manipulation. Let me try it out." Dilya extended her hand out and tried to control the air. She found out that it would listen to her command, but only to simple ones. More complex commands would need more practice. She flicked her hand to the left and a gust of wind appeared, blowing everyone's clothes and hair.

"That's really cool. What else can you do?" Karl asked.

"Well, right now, only simple moves. I probably need to practice and get better to do the things you do with your ability."

"That makes sense." Karl fixed his hair that was blown by the wind. "Wait, what happened to Heath? We totally forgot about him."

"I'm right here. Don't worry," Heath said as he walked over to them. "I'm guessing we killed it since I leveled up a few times."

"Yup. Thanks for reminding me, I need to distribute my points." Karl opened up his status and spent his points. It now looks like this:

[Name:] Kigai

[Level:] 25

[Class:] Assassin (+10 to Dexterity)

[Species:] Ancient One (Avatar)

[Gender:] Male

[Age:] 18

[Strength:] 78

[Constitution:] 26

[Intelligence:] 52

[Dexterity:] 104 (+10)

"No problem. So, what'd I miss?" Heath asked.

"Not much. The big bird dropped an orb that gave Dilya the ability to control the air," Karl answered.

"Couldn't she do that anyway?" Heath sat down on the ground.

Dilya's ears twitched as she overheard their conversation. "I could, but that was magic and magic couldn't be used indefinitely. This new ability allows me to control the air without it using my mana."

Heath nodded. "I see."

As they were talking, Kerym was looking around. He looked up at the sky and saw a weird beam of light. "Hey, guys. What's that?" he asked as he pointed to it.

They looked over to where Kerym was pointing and saw the beam of light. The beam of light then disappeared.

"I think that's how we get to the second level," Karl said.

"Do you think so? Well, there's only one way to find out and we don't exactly have other options." Kerym looked at the direction of the light. "Are you all ready? Let's go."

"Yes."

"Yup."

"Yeah."

The group started making their way to the beam of light. As they were walking, Dilya was practicing her new ability and managed to level it up to level 3. She could now use it offensively, but she still needed more practice, so she continued training. Karl made sure to apply a shadow cloak on everyone so they would be harder to detect.

With Karl's shadow cloak, the group managed to get to the place where the beam of light was without getting attacked. The group saw a floating crystal, moving up and down.

"Stay here," Karl said as he approached the floating crystal. He extended his hand out and touched it. The crystal was cool to the touch and stopped moving as soon as he touched it.
