Chapter 20 - High-grade Green Tea!

Then, the person on the other end stopped talking as they waited for further instructions.

Jiang Niansheng couldn’t say anything because as soon as she made a sound, the person would know she was not Sheng Hanye.

The person waited for ten seconds and became suspicious. “CEO Sheng?”

“Well, he’s in the shower.” Jiang Niansheng replied. “Call back later.”

The call ended immediately.

She was about to put the phone down when Sheng Hanye walked out of the bathroom. He shouted, “Who gave you permission to touch my phone?”

“I was answering the call for you. It has repeatedly been ringing, so I was afraid it was something important.”

He snatched the phone and flipped to the call log. His face was gloomy. “What did you hear?”

“The person only said one thing. There’s a new update from Flying Feather.” Jiang Niansheng asked, “What is the Flying Feather? Is it your intelligence organization?”

“You shouldn’t be asking that.”

“Is it my fault for being curious?” She shrugged. “I didn’t answer it on purpose. If you care about it that much, how about we sleep in separate rooms?”

Sheng Hanye sneered. “Separate rooms?”

“Yeah, in that case, we will have our own private space.”

“Stop dreaming. If we’re separated, how will you have the chance to take revenge for the Jiang family?”

Jiang Niansheng gnashed her teeth. “You’re only saying that because I can’t beat you.”

“I keep you by my side 24 hours a day. You can’t blame me for your weakness.”

“Sheng Hanye, how dare you!”

He casually wiped the water droplets on his hair. “Besides, Mrs. Sheng, we haven’t consummated our marriage yet, so how can we sleep in separate rooms?”

Jiang Niansheng immediately wrapped herself tightly in the quilt.

“I’m not in the mood today.” Sheng Hanye stood by the bed and looked down at her. “But, sooner or later, that day will come.”

“I’d rather die than give myself to you!”

The corner of his mouth curled up. “Even after you die, your body is mine.”

Jiang Niansheng was angry. She picked up the pillow and threw it at him. “Why did you come back anyway? Why didn’t you stay at Xia Caiwei’s place? Can’t she satisfy you? After all, you two are so close. I pity you two because you are clearly in love, but you cannot be together! You should seize every chance to be with her!”

“I’m giving you the last warning. Do not touch Xia Caiwei!”

“As if I can hurt her.” Jiang Niansheng chuckled sarcastically, “Do you really think Xia Caiwei is a delicate flower that will topple with a soft blow of the wind?”

Sheng Hanye answered, “She doesn’t know martial arts.”

“Her scheming mind is much more powerful than any martial arts. She can kill without even lifting her finger. Of course, men like you wouldn’t tell the difference. You’d only be fooled by her innocent appearance.”

He frowned with impatience. “Are you done?”

“No!” Jiang Niansheng got up and stood on the bed so she was half a head taller than him. “This is my first time meeting Xia Caiwei, but I am certain she is a high-class green tea bitch!”

Women could always tell, but men were always blind.

Sheng Hanye looked up at her slightly. “She hasn’t said anything bad about you. You, on the other hand, have said so many horrible things about her.”

“That is such typical green tea behavior. Forget it.” Jiang Niansheng waved her hands. “I’m not going to waste my time explaining. In fact, you should go stay with her and leave me alone.”

He narrowed his eyes. “Are you chasing me away?”

“Like I can afford to do that. I merely hope that you can get what you want. I pray that you can be with your beloved Xia Caiwei day and night. I wish that you’ll be married and grow old together…” Jiang Niansheng rambled on and on.

She couldn’t tell why but from the first glance, she disliked Xia Caiwei. She hated her a lot, just like how she hated the color white.

Jiang Niansheng felt Ye Ziya was annoying and liked to put on airs, but she was not malicious. But Xia Caiwei was a malevolent person. However, she hid it well.

“You done?” Sheng Hanye asked.

“Almost.”

Instead of being angry, he raised his brow. “Are you acting like this… because you’re jealous?”

Jiang Niansheng almost choked on her saliva. “Jealous?”

Sheng Hanye reached out to grab the back of her head. “If you don’t like it, I won’t see her at night anymore.”

She blinked. ‘Wait, isn’t Xia Caiwei his sweetheart? Hasn’t he reserved the position of Mrs. Sheng for him? So why would he say something like this… But his offer is quite tempting.’

Jiang Niansheng snapped out of her senses. “You… It’s none of my business whether you want to see her or not!” However, she had softened. In Sheng Hanye’s eyes, this was a reaction of a woman appeased after her jealousy was lifted.

It made him very happy.

Perhaps he could make it up to Jiang Niansheng what he owed Wen Wan.

“Since I’ve married you, I will act as a loyal husband.” Sheng Hanye said matter-of-factly. “In these two years of marriage, no one can replace you.”

“What about two years later?”

He did not speak, but the answer was obvious. The destiny was already written on the wall.

Jiang Niansheng looked into his eyes. “You’re so worried that I’d go after Xia Caiwei. Sheng Hanye, aren’t you worried that she’d come after me?”

“She won’t do that.” Sheng Hanye said, “She’s not that kind of person.”

“It’s cute how innocent you are.”

Jiang Niansheng had a strong feeling that Xia Caiwei had made the woman she resembled disappear.

“Sleep early.” Sheng Hanye pinched her cheek lightly. “I’ll go to the study.”

Jiang Niansheng pushed his hand away.

He took the opportunity to rub her hair. He smiled dotingly at her.

After Sheng Hanye left, Jiang Niansheng lay on the bed and looked at the ceiling. Her mind was full of thoughts.

The thoughts slowly clarified. She had a few goals. She needed to figure out whom she was substituting for; who Xia Caiwei was; and where that mysterious woman was now. There was a huge secret hidden in there, waiting for her to dig it out. Perhaps the knowledge could help her… take revenge.

Sheng Hanye completely underestimated her. He treated her like she was a pet. She needed to find leverage over him.

In the study, Sheng Hanye called the last number on his list. “What is the new update?”

“CEO Sheng, who was the person who answered earlier…”

“That’s my wife.”

He stood in front of the window and listened to the latest information from the Flying Feather. He looked lonely cast in the moonlight.

“Okay.” Sheng Hanye said, “Find out more about Bei City’s Jiang family. I need the update tomorrow.”

“Of course, CEO Sheng.”

Sheng Hanye put away his phone, turned around, and walked to the drawer. He took out the precious photo frame again.

He knew that Jiang Niansheng was not Wen Wan, but he kept having the illusion that they were one and the same. They were so alike, from their faces to their eyes and finally the mastery of martial arts…

Sheng Hanye’s finger moved across the photo.

Suddenly, he stopped.. His fingers paused above the mole on the slender neck of the woman in the picture.
