In her mind? He didn't know that she had that kind of ability. He did get a glimpse of a world inside her mind. Is it because of the strange magic inside her? Fu Mian is in there alone.

Fu Sheng grabs her arm and shakes her in rage. "Bring her out now!"

She chuckles. "You only want Fu Mian."

He doesn't want to argue with this woman anymore. Fu Sheng closes his eyes and taps into the bond. Though the bond, he feels the vibrations of her life. He reaches the barrier and runs his psychic hands over it. The tear is gone. The barrier is stronger than before. It's not strong enough to become a problem for him.

"If you do that, you won't see them anymore." He hears Li Dai Yu's voice. "The magic only obeys me now. It will wipe out all of our souls. Haven't you seen the energy pools? Just like they can absorb souls, my magic can also absorb souls."

"You!" Fu Sheng grimaces at her with disdain. "Why are you doing this?"

"Because I don't like you," Li Dai Yu tells him with a cold voice. "I don't like Huang Qiuyan. I don't like this bond that has become my cage. I want to become stronger, but I can't become what I want to be. It's because of Huang Qiuyan and you. Both of you are disgusting creatures."

But Huang Qiuyan is also her. Fu Sheng wonders what he has done to receive this wrath. Then, he is again reminded of all the things that he had done. 

"You also hate me." Li Dai Yu smirks at him, "Fu Sheng, Huang Qiuyan and I are two sides of the same coin. If you have me, doesn't it mean that you also loathe her?"

"You are not her, " Fu Sheng whispers.

"I am not her and she's not me." Li Dai Yu's green eyes reveal a tint of sadness. "She's my weakness. I want to remove that weakness from me. She also thinks of me as her unpleasant side. She always buried me because she thought that a woman should always be nice, kind, beautiful in manners, and not ambitious. She always told herself to never covet freedom. When she finally started to want freedom, you found her and imprisoned her with your so-called love."

She looks at him. "She easily gave up her freedom again. This time, she chose you. I am sick and tired of this. Why should I be buried? That coward woman can't fight for what she wants. Then, it should be me. I started taking control of the magic inside her. After I had a firm grip over it, I took over her mind."

Fu Sheng realises his mistake. Why is he treating Li Dai Yu differently? She is one of Huang Qiuyan's side. Huang Qiuyan had hidden this side of her for so long that this side of her became something else. This unloved side of her has suffered for a long time. Huang Qiuyan didn't lose control. Her other side has snatched away the control. "Li Dai Yu, loving someone doesn't mean that you are giving up your freedom."

He frowns at her. "How do you know?"

"I have the knowledge, thanks to Xiao Chun Dan and Huang Qiuyan." Li Dai Yu clicks her tongue. The Fae magic compels her to speak mostly truth. It's difficult for her to lie. In any case, Aiken's library has been a great help. She has received great knowledge when Xiao Chun Dan scanned the library. She wants more knowledge and power. "The problem is simple. Someone is trying to turn all living and non-living beings into a new form of energy. The gates are closed off because the energy must stay inside this closed atmosphere. Soon, there will be energy whirlpools originating from the gates and eating all the living and non-living beings in its way. Whether it's mortal or immortal, they won't be able to escape the whirlpools. Everything will turn into energy."

This makes sense to Fu Sheng. How did Li Dai Yu figure it out? Just having knowledge isn't enough. "Do you know who caused it?"

"I read about the previous incidents in this world." Li Dai Yu sighs. "It's been messed up quite a time. The instabilities were introduced a long time ago. But someone tried to take advantage of it. This world will become an energy egg soon and it will be all gobbled up by that person. That person will have so much power. Let me guess… powers close to primordial Gods?"

Currently, there are three primordial gods in conscious states -- Death, Time, and Power. Arius is God of death. Reis is God of time. So far, God of power hasn't made his presence known.

"If you want to stop this, you have to make sacrifices." When he knits his brows, she shakes her head and laughs. "Nobody needs to die, I think. Someone needs to absorb the energy from the pools. I volunteer. I am in a hurry. If I don't reach the peak of semi-mortal state, I won't last for days."

Fu Sheng snorts at her. "Do you think that I would believe your words? I know that Huang Qiuyan would sleep forever if you become immortal."
